Laura

I noticed I am puting the pounds on again. The walking has eased off a bit too since it has got colder outside. Tried to convince myself to ease off the chocolate. I have not returned to work yet so have been spending time feeling sorry for myself need to pull myself together.
Doctor says it is just taking longer to heal. I see the surgeon next week

Ladies, I knew that when I got back to work my time on my personal computer would be limited. I have a very demanding job, but I've been trying to pace myself. On days that I drive alot, my right side really starts to hurt and then the next I'm just really tired.

I haven't had to worry about weight gain, which is wonderful; however, I'm now losing a pound a week. My DH is worried, but my entire appetite has changed since my surgery. If I keep losing, I probably will contact my Dr to see if there is a problem, but I'm back to walking two miles a day and today I get to start yoga. I'm so happy. In December I get to start lifting weights again and finally will be back to my normal self. It just seems like it is taking so long, and although I do get frustrated about my current limitations, I keep telling myself to be patient.

Laura and Amy - don't worry about that swelly belly. I still swell up! In mornings it's not there, but by evening I've got a gut!!! Just think, it takes awhile for our insides to heal and blame it on being post-op.

Hope everyone is doing well and not having any major problems.

Hi Gardner!
My appetite has changed since surgery also- I don't have much of one- I have lost most of the weight I gained during chemo. I wonder if this is going to continue- it's already been 8 weeks. I wish I could start back with yoga- I have until the 18th and they better tell me I'm healed!!

Take Care!

Hello everyone

Just to say I think I did too much work in the garden on Sunday and now I can feel a lot of twinges going on - think i may have done something to internal stitches. Felt so well I forgot that I'm not all better on the inside.

I still feel a bit swollen generally, tho that could be due to the amount of chocolate I consumed at the don't care any more stage but hopefully now that i'm back to walking the dog for an hour or so each day am hoping that it will gradually disappear. I am hoping to go for a swim this week - has anyone tried that yet? Also keep forgetting to do my exercises .....

Its lovely to hear everyone's news.

Hi Ladies,

The good thing is that we figured out how to keep you together! I have moved your "Progress thread" to the date club and MERGED your "Queens" thread with it. This way, your entire discussion is in one place....and is open for you to continue to enjoy your friendships!

Please remember...the pre-op and post-op members need you. They need your support and kindness with their questions and concerns. Thanks for pitching in and helping them there, too, while you continue your friendships here!

Enjoy!

Hi everyone! I'm doing well and hoping a few more folks will check in. We lost the thread and everyone is busy I think.

I went on a hike and actually was not sore or anything later, and am finding that I feel pretty much normal now.

Anyone else? I hope you're having a nice autumn!

Just checking in with everyone. Time just continues to fly and for the most part, I feel completely healed up and am back to all my regular activities with my usual stamina. I am taking Estratest FS and it seems to be doing its job with no unpleasant side effects. I am seeing extra pounds pile on and i've got to get a handle on that before it becomes a problem. can't say that i'm eating more calories, probably need to exercise more. anyway, all is well and i'm so glad to have made it thru the past two months and glad that i had the surgery.

Sue - I'm sorry hear about your wrist. Hopefully it will heal fast. Hope you're doing well other than that.

I've been having complications from my surgery. I now have an incisional hernia and am trying to work through that. I just want my life back and still have a ways to go.

Hope everyone is doing well.

Great news (I guess) - but although my Dr was convinced that I had an incisional hernia I don't!!! Which is great news. However, I tore some internal stitches under my incision and now have a build up of scar tissue about the size of a ping pong ball. That was what was causing all of my pain. Now I have to go through the healing process again. My restrictions are not as bad as they were, but I can't lift anything over 10 lbs until January!! This has been a long road to follow, but I keep thinking I see that light at the end of the tunnel.
