Holy Cow! a gallon a day and I'd feel like getting the oars out and paddle around instead of walk. I do drink about 16 oz of water per day in addition to the crystal light that I've been drinking. I thought that I'd be safe drinking that because it was sugar free and caffeine free. Hmmm. Guess I need to start thinking about more wonderful water. I have been drinking cranberry juice as well. About as much of that as the water. I feel like I'm drinking all of the time.

Good Luck at the dr tomorrow. I hope the oozing stops and you can get your staples out and everything goes great for you.

Thanks. It's starting to worry me.

I keep a bottle of water near me at all times. Just keep sipping. Last thing we need right now is more chemicals.

Is the dr concerned about your fever at all?

When I called the on-call dr he was concerned about the fever more than the blood or the cathing problems. He prescribed a new antibiotic, which seem to have helped. I felt better yesterday and today after getting a few pills in me. I've got a large cooler cup with a straw I'm going to fill with water and keep it close today and see how it goes. Thanks for the advice.

Hope it helps. Hydration is important for a fever, too.

All staples are gone now, and he covered it with steristrips, which have to stay on for two weeks. He said to be especially careful of my stomach muscles now, and not to worry about the oozing--if it hadn"t started on it's own, they might have had to open the incision.

Why they didn't tell me sooner, I couldn't say.

"Oscar" was 2.2 pounds--1000 grams

2.2 POUNDS!! Holy Cow...was that the uterus or a fibroid or both? I'll bet you feel lighter!

Tried my best to sip the water...did okay. I'll keep it up tomorrow, haven't seen much difference for today though.

Isn't it funny how, during all the questions that we ask before hand about what to expect etc, and during discharge they never seem to mention the little things...like your oozing, like bleeding is normal around the 10 day mark, etc.?

Take care...and glad the stitches are out and you can finish healing.

That was the whole thing. Left ten pounds in the hospital.

Did you realize Wednesday is the two week mark?

2 weeks today. Milestone. The whole thing seems a distant memory. I was in such a fog right after the surgery that, although I remember things, it almost feels like a dream.
And 4 more weeks of taking it easy.

Must have been really nice to leave 10lbs at the hospital. I went in at the lowest I've been in years, but with all the IV fluids they pumped me full of I gained it back. It wasn't until I got rid of all of that that I could tell that I'd lost a little extra...nowhere near your 10 though. Almost could feel like a new you.

Take care Arlynn.

I don't remember a thing after the Versed went into the IV until Thursday afternoon. Probably for the best.

You know what we always used to say--it's not fat, it's just water....

You can always tell if you're dehydrated. Your urine is dark.

I have no idea what I got, but i no sooner laid up on the table, the nurse brought a oxygen mask and told me I could hold it on, I said no i'd rather not just yet I wanted to see what....then I was gone. I vaguely remember my mom and dad that evening and even that a couple of people called to check on me, but couldn't begin to tell you any substance to any conversation until the next day/morning.

My pee is dark first thing in the am but by afternoon and evening it's almost clear as water. weird.

how are you feeling today. oozing slowing down...the incision getting itchy? take it easy.
