Side Effects?

My doctor put me on the estrodial .05 patch the day after my surgery (July 12). Everything seemed fine until Sunday. Since then, I have a headache I can't seem to get rid of, feel really nauseous at times (but not always) and feel dizzy at times. Could these be side effects from the patch? I would have thought any potential side effects would have appeared prior to 16 days, but I can't seem to put my finger on what else might be going on.

Has anyone else on HRT experienced any of this? Any input is appreciated!

Side Effects?

I was on the Vivelle patch and was experiencing a headache that I could not get rid of. I went to get my blood pressure checked and it was 135/92.
I called my doctor and she immediately took me off the patch. I would check your blood pressure just to make sure that it is not elavated. I also felt nauseous and dizzy from time to time while on the patch.

Hope you start feeling better soon!!

Thanks Shannon! I'll check the blood presure. Are you on something different? I don't want to have to deal with menopausal symptoms, but the way I feel now, it might be better than this...

Side Effects?

Sandlover,

I'm on Estridiol as well, I started on the pill form and then switched to the cream version. I've also had a constant headache for the past 2 weeks, and also nausea and dizziness. The nausea and dizziness was worse for me on the pill form, but the headache has remained the same. My dr. told me it was from my estrogen levels falling too low and my FSH levels too high (my head was hurting to badly to understand what that meant) except that he still thinks I'm not getting enough estrogen. I think some of the nausea may be from the estridoil though, because it gets worse about an hour after I take it. He's doing some blood work to see where I'm at and where I need to be. Maybe call your dr. and let him know what is going on. I wish you the best!!

Side Effects?

My doctor won't put back on hormones until my blood pressure is back down. It is still in the 130s over mid to high 80s. I get hot several times throughout the day and have some trouble sleeping, but, it is not too bad. I think I can deal with the menopause symptoms. My main concern is NOT being on hormones at age 36. I don't know what it will do to my body long term to not have estrogen.
