Have found some great music rooms on the net and love chatting to my friends worldwide.
Last night there was a fair bit of pain and bloat, i distracted with music and googling link rescources for a USA mates's online university assignment.

Why oh why is turning over in bed at night THE most painful thing?? eerrk!!!
Gas in the belly is typically very painful!
Just a little tid bit that helped me after my 2nd lap surgery and some after my hyst. When laying on your back you can put a small towel or part of a pillow (whatever) under your buttock. I put it under my right cheek as most of my gas pains were on the right. That apparently helps the gas move better without so much pain.
(If that's even an issue for you, or maybe someone else). I was just bummed they didn't tell me that after my first lap!!!

GOOD LUCK

Thank you Dinky, will certainly try that. Also though it is the pain of movement with the vertical incision, digging heels and elbows in lol.

Hi Everyone - hope you're having a good Sunday!

I really do think that a lot of the pain (that goes away) is due to gas or pressure on the bladder when it's full or needing to do a BM. I certainly feel a sharp pain with all of these but it's relieved with some walking about and of course, a trip to the loo!

Feeling great today - a group of 17 friends arranged for a champagne brunch at 11.30am at the Grand Hyatt today (it's a big thing here, Sunday brunches!) and DH and I joined them as I felt like I was ready for a day out! At 4.30pm we were still there and I'd enjoyed a fabulous spead for brunch and had been back to the dessert table twice (there was a chocolate fountain I couldn't resist.) Had to then walk (slowly) to an office supplies store with DH (all shops are open in Singapore on Sundays until 10pm!!) to get the 100 folders I'll need for work this coming week (start on Wed) and felt fine after that. Amazing. Maybe the champagne helped to loosen things up everywhere!

Back home now and feeling tired so have hopped into bed, but no bleeding (4 days now) so I am keeping my fingers crossed all continues well. Have my 2 week check with the doc on Tuesday so will have plenty to report. DH seems more exhausted than I am and has fallen asleep on the couch in front of the telly.

Mrs Brady - well done with your grades! Great news! Be careful lugging those 35lb books around though. I got DH to carry my folders for me this afternoon and they weren't all that heavy!

Everyone else - I hope your weekend was peaceful and that all is continuing to improve daily. Take care

Good Morning to all,
Mrs Brady do be careful with the books, just a thought on carrying the books, a small suitcase with wheels or one of those carts that women use to lug things around, the smaller ones they pull behind them, ..good luck to you..
the pains are easing and the discharge seems to be lessening, after six months of bleeding I am looking forward to no more anything,
Had to get out last night, went and had a couple drinks and something to eat, and wow did it feel good to get out only lasted a couple hours but felt like a night on the town....
Hope everyone has a wonderful less painful sunday

Hello Sisters,

I have been a little more under the weather the past few days. I now have two infection sites. Not sure why, but have some ideas. Either I did have a bleeder in post op(spent over eight hours in there and had to have a blood transfusion and other fun things) or it is possible my body is rejecting the material used in the stitches. Amazingly today I feel better. My temp is down and the pain is down. My mom who is a retired RN has come to save the day. My mom has to pack the infection areas twice daily and I have to have hot packs applied throughout the day. I would never be able to do this and I would have ended up back in the hospital. I think my mom is actually enjoying this. The whole needed thing and being able to be a nurse again. I am enjoying having her here too. I am so thankful for all of you. I so enjoy reading and hearing how you are all doing.

lil'ol'me - How is it going? I cant imagine what you must be going through. My prayers are with you and I hope all is better soon.

jacko888 - I have so much enjoyed reading your posts. Sounds like you are doing so well. Good luck this week during your training sessions, take it easy and don't push yourself. My feelings exactly on the granny panties. Do we admit we are getting older and just go for the comfort....!

Dinky10 - Good to see you are getting out. So what if it took you longer to get through the art show, you did it didn't you. Hurray!!!!

yankeeandproud - Could you handle it???

All of you, Thank you for your input and life stories it really keeps me going.

Tracy

Hi everyone:

Zelda Bean here. I'm so encouraged by all of you and your recovery process. Even though I have had a rough time with my hospital stay and coming home. I know there is a light at the tunnel and it is so encouraging to here everyone's progress. I am feeling a little bit better the gas is still there and boy is it painful but it is getting better. I actually had a normal bm today and if that is not something to be happy about. I feel so much better. I received my hystersiters belly band yesterday and absolutely just love it. It has really helped with the pain of my incision and feeling like I have something holding everything in place. Today on Sunday I took my little babies (my two little chi's) out for a walk around the yard. We went slowly but they have been so good to me since I came home. I think they know something is wrong and haven't been as jumpy and all and want to be with me all the time. One of them my little boy chi, just rests his head on my belly on the time and won't let anyone near me too cute. But the walk was great with them. To get some fresh air and to be out of the house and to be enjoying something that I just love was great. I never thought I would be out and about so soon so I'm hopeful maybe next week I'll get out of the house for a little while.

Tracyd - I hope your feeling better soon. I had a very scarey time in the hospital at one point they thought they were going to have to open me up again but it worked out and I came home a little later than expected and bruised up. But doing okay. Glad your Mom is there to help. Makes all the difference in the world.

Everyone else your words are just so ENCOURAGING!!!

Here's to a great Sunday and one with more healing for all.

hormone issues and depression

It is great to read everyone's posts. Is anyone else on Premarin .625? I was on Prempro prior to my surgery (and had been on it over 5 years with really no side effects) and seem to be having side effects from the Premarin. I have one breast that is really sore and tender. The tenderness started about 2 days ago. My hormones seem really out of whack and now I am crying and depressed about everything. I didn't feel depressed yesterday and actually got out and helped my DH at the grocery store. Any feedback will be appreciated. We are supposed to go to my in-laws for a meal and all I want to do is put my covers over my head in bed and stay there.

Have gone my first 24 hours plus with no pain killers whatsoever! YAYYY!!!!! Hopefully that will relieve the ongoing constipation--I normally go about twice or more times a day and now, not having gone in almost 48 hours, I feel really backed up! On no hormones whatsoever and feel fine, a few "glows" but I was probably getting those before the surgery and not even noticing them. DH has been so super-supportive and loving, I think that has something to do with it--this recovery time has been so stress-free, it feels like a vacation! I'm glad my body and mind haven't yet gone whacko minus the hormones, it'll give me more time to do research and decide whether to go on hrt or not. I'm glad to hear you're all doing pretty well, I hope it stays like this/gets better for all of us here!
