Catherine - amazing co-incidence - I have put a separate thread in the post op forum section - have a look - it sounds like the PMS thing is something we will continue to experience as long as our ovaries are working. I guess it's a good sign as it means that we haven't hit menopause yet. Am feeling whacked tonight so am going to sleep now - was great all day and all of a sudden ... tired and emotional! Chat to you all tomorrow. G'night! Jane

Three weeks for me today too! CONGRATULATIONS TO ALL OF US!!!

I had a long, but nice AM. I dropped my son off for Mother's Day Out Orientation and then ran to a UMW Board Meeting (My life is getting busy again!). When that was over I ran back to the MDO Orientation to hear the Parent's portion. Then the fun part of the day of having lunch with my friends and son. It would have been lovely if I wouldn't of had to ask my friiend to pick up my son so I could take him out and have a discussion about his behavior, Normally, I would have haulled him out, but at almost 40 pounds, that won't be happening! After a much needed heart to heart talk and some lunch, he is now napping!

Now I am pooped and resting a little. To the ladies with PMDD, I am with you and trying to get off the drugs. I take Pexeva and although I feel great on it, I would love to get rid of it. I am going to talk to my Dr. when I go next week about it. I have had some spotting the last couple of days. THe dark kind that I think is from the stitches, etc. I can't really say I have been doing a lot around the house. I am doing what I feel like and what I enjoy at the time. I agree that we feel just like we are supposed to. One day at a time ladies,,,,,,,,one day at at time! Ya'll keep it up and stay relaxed and REST!!!!

Three weeks down tomorrow....

Had my first post op check up today.

My doc said that 1) I should still be needing a daily nap - major surgery and I did lose some blood - so he would expect a 45 min nap a day.

2) That it will be 6 months - 1 year before I feel like I never had surgery - that when I pick things up, I will still feel it for quite some time.

3) I could do some local driving as I felt up to it.

4) That I could perhaps return to work part-time/half time as a teacher by the 10th...but that is up to me.

So, I had my appt, dh drove, then we stopped by and picked a few groceries from the store, dh hauled them in, then I put together a quick casserole for my 2 older sons to take to Boy Scouts tonight, and I needed a nap!!!!

The doc did say the most important thing right not was not to work through fatigue. That when I was tired, it was important to rest. So, rest I did. I got my nap in - about 35 min before the boys came home. Think I need a bit longer!

I am so proud of you ladies with your 3 wk post-op! Congratulations, every day is a new day. I will be 3 weeks on the 31st, but I don't think I have accomplished as much as you all have. I've only left the house twice now. 1) to get the staples out; 2) dh took me out to dinner on the 26th. (granted town for us is about a 35 min. one way trip) It seems like I need those 45 min naps as well. But I look at the progress I've made and I read your stories and it gives me hope for each and every new day. You are all such a blessing to me.....keep up the great progress.

three weeks post op for me too!

Three weeks for me too. It's nice to chat with women that had the surgery the same day. I have been so blessed. No problems at all! I used to tell my doctor, "you knowin the Bible where God said that because of Eve's sin that all women would suffer?" ---I told him I think he meant "me". That I would bear the burden (alone)...I had so much trouble before the surgery for years, so post op! WOW! Feeling GREAT!

Three weeks post op/ everyone is different

Kentucky gal -
Just take care of yourself, lady! If you need to nap, enjoy it! My favorite time of this past three weeks has been wearing my many pajamas that my sister sent me and just relaxing when I need to. I do a lot during the day...cook, do errands, but when the time comes...and it does every day...where I run out of energy, I put on my PJs and relax! Today, I have a massage and a french pedicure scheduled. Take care of yourself...take time to heal.

kentucky You're doing just fine.

I am 3 weeks on the 31st TAVH. I am 57 and you ladies who are so much younger and managing children koudos to you all. I once was a super mom, it is not an easy task, especially with a recovery in process. I have been to the grocery store with DH, I ride the motor cart and we laugh as I almost run over people in front of me, behind me ??!! I have been to lunch and quiet visiting. I am not in pain but still uncomfortable, I am not napping because I am not tired, but by the end of the day I have had enough and just want to lay down and not move. The gas is still horrible, if I eat all the fiber stuff, and if I dont eat the good stuff I am constipated, don't know which is worse. It will be nice when that part of me becomes normal. Tomorrow is my okay to go back to driving day so I thought I would go and have a pedi and manicure. The thought of just getting back in the car is such a hugh step. horray !!!! I look forward every day to see how everyone is fairing, and gives me the feeling that I am coming along just fine. Thanks evryone for sharing.

Moushiel & Chevelle,
You are such inspirations!! I think I was having a "pitty party for one" and you just pulled me out of it. Thanks....I needed that. I am not one to sit around all day and I'm starting to get cabin fever. I don't have a lot of pain, some burning and I get uncomfortable a lot. I just need to get up and move around. I have started loading and unloading the dishwasher and doing laundry. These naps are just so unlike me, but hey if they are part of the healing process....bring them on. Moushiel, you made me crack up at the motor cart story. Thanks for making me laugh. I started the stool softners as soon as I came home from the hospital and I am still taking them, I never did get constipated. I also did Metamucil with apple juice for the fist week. I did have the gas pains and oh man.....I feel for anyone who has them...not fun! My mom bought me a few South Beach diet frozen cheese pizzas...they are very good and have a lot of fiber. I think I will make an appt. for a pedicure....sounds nice and relaxing. Thank you everyone and happy healing.

Well, I just got home from the doctor's office and my incision is not infected. YAY! She told me I was doing great and the incision looks beautiful, with the exception of the one spot and that it just seems to be taking it's time. She also said that I seem to be getting around better than most her patients do at this stage so I'm feeling a bit more like my old self today.

As for daily naps, I am all for 'em! I go till I feel myself running out of steam, then I crash for an hour or two. Moushiel said thanks everyone for posting, and I'd like to second that. I come here to see how I'm measuring up and I'm so glad to hear that most of us are doing better this week.

Take care ladies!

I am having pressure pains. Does anyone else have those. It feels like when your Aunt Flo comes to visit or when you have just had a baby. At this point that is basically all the pain that I have but it happens when I have been out of bed for any length of time.

Other than that I feel great. There are times that my mind tells me that I am ready to go back to work, but my body chimes in and says differently. This time off has really made me realize that I truly hate my full time job and I wish that I could work from home.

I don't go back to the dr until 9/12 and I will find out more at that time.
