Hello

I have been doing great and the all of a sudden today I have starting hurting again. Today was my 4th day working my normal 9-10 hrs a day and it's like I just hit a wall. I am so tired and feel like I have taken ten steps back. I am so glad its almost the weekend and I can rest up for Monday to start all over again. It is just strange that I have been feeling so great and now I feel horrible again. YUK!

You know Tracyd, I am right there with ya. I do feel great -- almost all new! Then there are days I can't seem to get it together. Today it was rainy here and I could hardly keep my eyes open and wanted to nap all day. When bed time comes, I am ready! I am having pain every now and then when I sit up wrong or turn funny. Every day is new day and i guess we can learn from it.

Hi again...I've been having those days too...the pulling, the pain. It reminds me of when I used to get ovarian cysts...I still have the ovaries. But, I've been standing on my feet all day too. Anyone else who seems to have a swelly belly because of standing? I weigh 127 but my poor belly looks a tad preggo.

I've got my follow up with the uro on Monday...I'm sure that I'll get a surgery date shortly after. I was hoping for some sort of miracle the last few weeks but it didn't come. I'm back to measuring my pee/cath so the dr. will have a starting point again, and the numbers are about the same as they were a month ago.

I'm so glad to have read some updates from you all. It seems like we're still hanging in there. I miss all of you, but like you, I've been so busy lately. I really should take time to enjoy the simple pleasures in life...

I'll post after my appt. monday. I hope that you all have a cheery weekend and rest up.
Lis

Hi Ladies,

Some days I'm full of energy and then some days I come home from a day of teaching and I flop in the "healing chair" as my hubby has dubbed it and sleep for 1 or 2 hours! I guess it's to be expected, after all, we did have major abdominal surgery. One of my friends told me it took her 6 months to feel completely normal again. I have found that I really need my 8 hours of sleep at night or I'm dragging otherwise.

Have a great weekend everyone!

Hey ladies:

I have been having those days too lately. Some days I'm like the energizer bunny and others I just come home and want to crash. As well as, I have noticed since have been working both my jobs more the sudden twist one way or another I get pain or pulling as well as I have noticed after being up all day my "swelly belly". I come home and put my swelly belly band on it and it helps. I'm thankful for the weekend and being able to rest this weekend because the week took a lot of out me. You are all right about the sleep we need it to feel good.

Have a great weekend ladies and Lis, don't forget to let us know how your appt with the uro goes on Monday. We are all here hoping the best for you.

Thumbs up - Hysterectomy dates Aug 06-Aug 13,2007 Finally Got The Ok

Hello everyone, it was 10 weeks Friday for me and the MD gave me the final ok to go back to my old world whatever that was lol

I can exercise, join a pilates group, ride my bike etc. So today in sunny Florida it is raining for the first time in months. I was looking forward to my first bike ride to see what is going on in my neighborhood. oh well tomorrow is another day. We never get rain for more than an hour so actually a day is really really good, we are so so dry here.

I actually feel good this weekend the twinge and pulling seem to have gone away, and although tired after a long day no complaints. Did I actually say that???? WOW !!!
What a difference a day makes.

Well hope all if going well for all you ladies just thought I'd take a look see if anyone is still threading.

Diane

Hysterectomy dates Aug 06-Aug 13,2007

Hi everyone...I had my appt. with the urologist today...The surgery scheduler will be calling to set up the date after confirmation from my insurance carrier. He speculates that the TOT tape is pressing too much on my urethra, making it difficult to void. He says that: "there is a 50% chance that I will have leakage similar to pre-surgery" "there is about a 5% chance that while removing the mesh tape from the urethra area the urethra will be injured resulting in a urethral fistula and a subsequent surgery" "however there is a 95% chance that I'll be able to pee again on my own" "there is a very good chance that I will leave the surgery center with a foley catheter and bag for the first few days following surgery to give my urethra a chance to heal" "I should be able to return to work in about a week" " I should be able to resume sex after 6weeks".

I'm nervous...I'm ready to pee...I'm angry at the other dr....I'm worried that I still won't be able to pee...I'm dreading another surgery, absolutely dreading--especially a surgery that will be cutting into my vagina, a very special area to me--if you know what I mean...I've no fingernails left...I can't concentrate long enough to finish a load of laundry...my poor DH has to put up with me having yet another surgery...

I'm hoping that everyone else has had a good weekend...How are the fall colors where you are? Where I'm at there are a few scattered yellow/oranges and maybe a red here or there, but mostly brown. I'm disappointed. I used to love to drive down Main Street and have the beautiful Maples, Oaks, etc lay their blanket over me...I was just in awe of the beauty, but unfortunately this year isn't spectacular in that way.

Take care friends.

Hello sisters~~~haven't posted for awhile. Lis, glad to hear there is light at the end of the tunnel for you. Let us know how the surgery goes. I still have bladder problems; but right now I am focusing on my son. He is undergoing chemo right now. We have been in the Children's hospital for 10 days now, and just want to go home. He finishes his first round of chemo tonight, and we hope to go home in a few more days. We have to learn how to take care of his broviac catheter and do his blood draws. I am really scared about that. I am pretty exausted, trying to heal myself and be here for my son. But as a mom I gotta do what I gotta do! And he is my #1 priority right now. Anyway, Lis, good luck with the next surgery. Keep us all posted.

Kristi, I'm so glad that you posted...just earlier I had asked Marcie if she has heard from you. I've been thinking of you, as have many others of us. We're sending prayers for your son and family. Your son is blessed to have you for a mother. I admire your strength.

Please take care of yourself. We'll continue to pray,

Lis

Kristi and Lis
I think of you two everyday and say a little prayer. I am back to my normal routine, but every once in a while have a few pains or fatigue. When this happens and I begin to feel a little sorry for myself I think of you and others who are experiencing what you are going through and pray for you.
Lis, I sure hope the surgery turns out the best it can and you are 100% afterwards. Try to stay calm and relaxed the best you can and remember we are here for you when you need to pour out your fears and anxiety.
Kristi, I thank God your son has you for a mom. My daughter has CP and we have spent time at Children's Hospital in St. Louis so I know what you are going through as far as the hospital stay. I will continue to pray for you and your son. Keep going and stay strong. We are here for you friend!
