I am hoping he will give me Ambien or Lunesta. Is this a temporary thing.....part of menopause or what?? I'm also very lightheaded, almost dizzy and mild hot/cold flashes. None of this started right away. Just n the last few days.
I don't know whether to ask for a patch or not. The warm flashes are manageable. The insomnia is my main concern.

I wonder if the surgical menopause will slowly get worse since I am two weeks post op??? I hate to whine because for the most part, it has been so much better than I thought.
I wrote the above and now adding to it. I went for my post op today. I'm healing fine but they didn't get all of the cancer. I have stage II endometrial cancer. The doctor said the cancer had "grown through the wall of the uterus.

He scheduled an appt. with an oncologist for next Tuesday to discuss the treatment plan. He said it will be radiation and maybe chemo too. I sure didn't want to hear that.

He told me he removed multiple fibroids.....marble sized on up to one the size of a baseball that was resting on my bladder. That must have been the culprit for my incontinence since I have been pad free since surgery.
He did say I would be spotting soon when the sutures started disolving.

He gave me a script for Lunesta. Expensive stuff. $49.00 for a 30 day supply and that's with my insurance. It will be worth it to get a normal night's rest.

That's about it for now. Hope everyone else is doing well.

Hugs,

Hi Ladies !

First of all, Redhot, i am sorry to hear your news. i am praying for you and hoping everything goes well. attitue is everything, so try to stay postive about things and remember, you always have your sisters when you need help getting thru things.

15 days post op for me today. i feel pretty good now but last night i was quite sick. severe nausea. maybe it was the pizza i ate for supper. it might have been too heavy. i'm not sure, but i really felt lousy. i also slept a little better last night. did not get a chance to buy any lavender yet, but i'm thinking maybe tomorrow i'll drive myself to the mall for a little while. i have not driven yet. just didn't feel like i was ready.

i'm More than half way thru my time off from work. i am actually a little nervous about going back. i sit all day long but the job is very stressful taking call after call after call. i hope i can last a full day. i just sent an e mail to my h.r. rep asking if i can do half days the first week.

i don't have my follow up appt till 9/10, which is the day before i'm due back. maybe i can ask my dr. for another week off.

we'll see. My DH is insisting i will be good to go. i have to admit, i'm not at all anxious to get back. now that i'm starting to feel a little better pain and soreness wise, i'm starting to enjoy my time off. the first week or so that i was home, i was lucky to know where i was. ha ha.

Speedy Recoveries to all. Talk to you later.

Redhot, I am sorry to hear this. You will certainly be in my thoughts as well.

I am waiting for my path reports to be "finalized" but have heard the preliminary results and am in a similiar boat. My hysterectomy was done due to carcinoma in situ that had recurred. A biopsy I had done previous to procedure came back showing stage 1b2 cervical cancer. From the prelim reports it sounds like it may have been a little bit worse and further treatment necessary, radiation or chemo.

We will get through this!!!

We haven't had much talk about cancer, is anyone else in "our little group" dealing with this?
