Oh the hair shaving deal At least yours is growing back....mine is NOT growing back, in fact I think what ever little bit was left has fallen out also...Don't know which is worst losing it all or itching from it growing back....Let's all hang in there we're in to week 5

As far as recovery, I've been doing fairly well. I have a tendency to push myself and always have been that way. I can certainly tell when I'm doing that now.

I read about everyone going back to work and wish I could go with you!!! I was put on lay off status (I volunteered since I knew I was having surgery, better to let someone else keep their job) the 1st of August but now wish I had a job to go back to! I'm 27 and have worked since I was 18. This is totally new to me. My 3 kids (8,7 and 6) are loving that I'm a "stay home mom" as they call it. It's driving me crazy! I work in HR as well as some others here and am thinking I may go ahead and start seeking a new position. The bad part is that in addition to going crazy sitting at home, I am also loving being able to drop kids off and pick them up from school, getting in a few extra hours a day with them, and that sort of thing. It's certainly an inward battle on this one.

Is anyone else experiencing strange changes in their skin and/or hair? I've never had blemishes, pimples, acne... My facce can't seem to stop breaking out... Not bad, just a pimple here and there, but seems like I have to have at least 2 or 3 at one time!!! My hair is also oily and that's never happened to me before. I'm wondering if it's just due to hormone changes from hyster or if it's possibly from my depo wearing off but that doesnt make any sense to me either b/c my next shot wasn't due until beginning of October?!?!

I thought I was over the gas pains until last night. I guess I ate something that set that off and it was HORRIBLE all night.

Sorry so long!
I am happy for you that you don't need anymore treatment at the moment.
I thought I was going crazy until you wrote this post. MY face is breaking out, my hair is oily. I feel like a teenager. I was on the Nuvaring,so that is different. I hope someone has a jewel of information for us.

Hi everyone, I am now week 5 and the last few days I have been feeling great, so yesterday I thought I would go off to the shopping centre and have a stroll around as I had to go to the bank anyway. Well I wasn't there even two hours and I was totally exhausted. I almost had to have a seat on the way back to the car! I am supposed to be going back to work on 1st Oct - have my 6 week check next Mon, so will see if Dr is happy to clear me to all activities, but I am a bit concerned as to whether I will be able to cope with work, as I will be constantly on my feet, it is a very frantic environment.

I know I have a few more days yet, but I wonder if I will improve suddenly or not. My shifts are 6 hours, luckily not 8. Apart from this I have been really lucky so far. Also have not had any bleeding or stitches dissolving etc, does this always happen to everyone?

I have gone on two outings and then am toast the entire next day. I cannot imagine being back at work. Guess we'll see what the doc says on the 27th.
And I have had no bleeding or stitches passed either -- weird but true!
Amazing how long this is taking to feel "normal" again.

Razorbck, I'm so happy for you! I know that was music to your ears to hear no more treatment.

I was 5 weeks post op on the 13th. I think I'm doing pretty good physically, for the most part. I am careful not to do heavy lifting, but I stay pretty busy.

I still have numbing around the incision.

I still suffer from insomnia and it's really bad. Lunesta doesn't work. I don't drink caffeine, no tv when I come to bed.....I play spa music and the cat is the only one who sleeps.

I left Monday afternoon on a 5 hour trip to be with my dd as she had a heart cath today. She did well and the results were great. God is good. I stayed with her until her SO came home and then I got back on the road and headed home. I even stopped at Big Lots and shopped for over an hour. It took me almost 7 hours to get home. I've been up since 7am this morning. It's 2am and I'm wide awake.

The doctors and insurance company have formed an alliance against me and it is interfering with my long overdo cancer treatment. I am drained emotionally and am at wits end.

I will be okay though. Just a bump in the road.

Hugs to all of you,

Red hot, Keep fighting! I will keep praying for you. I am so happy to hear your DD is okay!!

I also am not sleeping tonight. Last night was the first night I had slept in 5 days. I thought it was becouse of the magnesium I took. It didn't work tonight. I guess my body shut down last night it was so tired.

pi123 I havn't had any stitches disolve either. Or atleast any that i have seen. I wonder if they are sttill there?? I seem to get tired after a few hrs of activity also. Hang in there your streangth will come back gradually.

Take care every one.

post op recovery

Hi I'm amazed at how much you are all doing I feel quite guilty now! My consultant has said 12 weeks off work minimum standard no driving, dog walking( I have 2 labs), hoovering or standing for long periods for at least 6 weeks. I must admit my energy levels have never been so low I feel like napping am and pm but am sleeping badly at night I think due to the night sweats. It is important to take it easy though as damage can be done interrnally leading to adhesions and I have enough of those already hence my surgery took 6 hours! To you all and please take it easy Trudy

I have really taken it easy today after yesterday's shopping trip, I felt that I really needed to rest. So I have caught up with emails and other computer stuff and not much else. It is almost time to go and cook dinner (I am in Australia), so that should keep me occupied for a while. I would love to try to walk the dog, but we have a 5 month old puppy (german shep xhusky) with so much energy. She is still learning how to walk nicely so pulls quite a bit and I don't think that would be a good thing. My husband broke his leg the night before my op (yes, conveniently got out of having to do the housework), but seriously it has been quite a trial having both of us laid up at the same time. So he can't walk her either. Luckily one of our sons is here to do it or she would be going mad. I don't know who was more bored, him or me at times, with all these things that we couldn't do. He has started back at work this week though.

And I thought that I had the corner market on the pimple fest! My face (chin) has broken out more this past month then ever before. I try to keep my face clean and washed since I don't have to wear makeup everyday for work. Good luck!!

Wel, I have my 5-week next Wednesday, and I feel great, but...........I'm tired too. Even though I have a desk job, I'm not ready to sit for 8 hours a day anyway, which fortunately I don't have to but I'm not ready for the stress of work. My friends say that I care about the job too much and that is causing my anxiety. Hopefully, I can step back when I go back to work. I have a feeling that the doc will release me next Wednesday, since I had a vaginal instead of an incision.

We will see.......
