Back to work on Monday

Hi ladies,
I go back to work on Monday. I work as a Kindergarten Assistant from 8 to 4. I went in this Thursday for just two hours to make apple crisp with the kids and boy was I exhausted!
It will be interesting to see how I do. I still have 30 sick days left, so if I have to take some more time off I can.

I am feeling great. Had my last doctor appointment Thursday and am all cleared for everything but lifting.
The kids will have to pick themselves up when they fall.

I hope everyone who is gooing back to work can take it easy and do only what you're able to do. Rest when you can.

Now that most of us have the all clear, 'relations' weren't the only thing being attempted this weekend. How many hauled the vacuum out for the first time in six weeks?

vacuum

Vacuum - too funny. I just got up this morning as everyone is still sleeping. I started some laundry, and thinking - I really need to vacuum, but I guess I'll have to wait until everyone gets up.

It appears the stuff on the rug doesn't bother anyone else but us.

Knitter Gal - Good luck to you on Monday, try to rest for at least an hour when you get home before attempting supper dishes, etc.

I went to my 6 week checkup Thursday. Everything is great. I'm scared to start "relations". I haven't told my husband I'm cleared for that yet. I vacuumed my downstairs yesterday and was so happy about it!

Here's an embarrassing story. When I went to see the doc Thursday and went into the examining room and was stripping from the waist down I had really bad gas built up and I thought I had better release it before he got in there and started pushing and prodding on me and have it come out then. (!) I usually have to sit in there for at least 15 minutes before he comes in, but not on this day. He and his nurse walked in while I was stripped from the waist down releasing my gas, I wasn't even covered up with the paper yet or on the examining table! The nurses eyes were big as half dollars. She said "Did you just pass gas?" We laughed hysterically during the entire exam. The doc kept cracking jokes about it. Talk about being embarrassed!

6 wk post op

Had my 6 wk post op visit on Friday. All restrictions have been lifted! Back to some serious exercising to get rid of the belly (hopefully) Also looking forward to an increase in energy. My Dr told me I am very lucky I had made the right decision to have the hyst done, my pathology report showed endometriosis as well as adenometreosis. She toke picture during surgery and showed them to me. One fibroid was as big as a 9 month old babies head. I am so thankful I made the decison to have the surgery & that the worst of the recovery is behind me. Bless all my sisters whose kind words and understanding helped make this an interesting journey. You are the best.

I went for my six week on Friday and yep, that pelvic hurt a little, but not any worse than the ones with all the fibrioids and endo. I got some silver nitrate as I still have some weeping from the sock puppet, and the all clear. For everything, and he said some stuff will hurt but it is OK to do it. All of it. You ladies that have DH's, you are brave. I was told that would really hurt at this point, but I am hearing good reports from you. I am hikng the Grand Canyon in two weeks. My funny comment was that I guess modesty is gone since you held my guts in your hands. Anway, I had my list of questions and he answered them all and I am glad I wrote, remember thank you at the bottom. I go back in eight more weeks. Yes, I still have swelly belly and am going to buy new zip offs that will accomodate the end of the day swelling. Anyway, this site has been wonderful. Thanks for all the great suggestions and encouragement. I am trying to pass it on.

On the Train Platform

It's after midnight and tomorrow marks the end of my medical leave. I'm glad to be healing well and to be feeling better, but I am also reluctant to get back to real life - you know what I mean? But tomorrow will come - in fact it's already here - and I will jump in with both feet as I head back to the office AND begin three a three day visit from my parents. I've spent the day picking up and putting away stuff from my "leave' - unread books, my cross stitch, my big knee pillow - and it's sad to know that once I get back to my non-stop, all-consuming, stressful job I won't be revisiting any of those. Sorry to be so blue - but it feels like a big deal to be going back out into the old world when I feel like a changed person in a lot of ways. Knew I could share these feelings with you all - as you'd be the only ones to know what I'm feeling. Thanks for being here.

Old friends

You know it's back to work f/t for me too today. It's funny, I always check in to see what's new for everyone. It's really nice to see everyone checking in and saying hi. I have told you guys things, I never would have shared with anyone else. It's been really nice to take this journey with you all!!! I don't have any biological sisters, but with this site, I feel like I have 1,000's. Thanks to all for helping along the way, and don't forget to check in periodically. Good luck to everyone!!!

hi everyone,

hope you are all doing well. i am totally wiped out today because my friend and i went on shopping trip yesterday to woodbury common in NY. it was a great day but i couldn't wait to get home and get in bed. i can't wait till i'm not so tired anymore. that will probaby be a long time coming. tomorrow starts my 2nd full week of work. (i had today scheduled off well before my surgery, so they couldn't tell me i can't have it). i hope i fare better than i did last week. the left side of my incision is still quite sore. yesterday during our trip, i was killing me. i wonder why that is. does it have anything do do with the Cervical Cuff? i don't know but it was sore.
