Chronic pain management counseling

Hi there everyone,

I was just wondering if anyone else had ever tried pain management counseling. My doctor has me going to a counselor there at the Women's center that deals with various ob/gyn issues. I'm kind of wondering what to expect. I'm leary about this really working, but at this point I will try anything. So far, my depo provera shot that I got isn't doing much good. But I realize it could take awhile to kick in.

While I have not used a pain management counselor myself, I have read on the site where women with various pain issues have found that seeing someone in the pain management field is very helpful. Some find that a pain management specialist is able to help them find pain relief by using different combinations of medications under the close eye of a specialist.
