Increased risk of prolapse?

Hi ladies,

Can anyone shed some light for me? I am having TAH, removing uterus and cervix and wondering if being overweight increases the risk of prolapse. I am overweight, probably on the verge of obese, but not quite.

I did ask my GP and she said no, I shouldn't be at any higher risk but just didn't seem certain.

Does anyone know???

Increased risk of prolapse?

I'm certainly no expert, but I have heard both from medical people over the years. Some say being over weight can contribute to prolapse and others say no.

Maybe someone around here will have more information.

s, Deb
