Oh my gosh, I am in the jungle now!

I had my remaining ovary removed on Wednesday due to a hemorhagic cyst. I had been suffering with pain for months and the doctor thought it was time to stop watching. My doctor removed the ovary and adhesions. There apparently was also some endo too. The doctor forget to start me with hormones right away. I thought at first that I was doing good but this morning, it hit me. I feel so weepy. I had picked up a prescription last night for the Vivelle Dot but did not put it on until this morning. How long before this stuff works? I feel besides myself and like I am going to lose my mind. I am sure I am also feeling bad from the surgery and the anesthesia. I was actually having hormonal imbalances before the surgery so now it is officially gone. I feel so alone in this jungle right now and don't know what to do. I want to just crawl in a hole. I hope things better soon and I can find a balance. I know the change can't gone forever. My sister started the change at 51. I am 47. She has both ovaries so I think mine will be a lot shorter. Thanks so much for listening.

Oh my gosh, I am in the jungle now!

I am sorry you are having symptoms and feeling so alone. I think once you find balance and your hrt starts working you should feel much better. When I had my ovaries removed i was weepy and had hot flashes. It believe it took 1 to 2 weeks to start to see a difference. I would just try to relax and give it some time.

It has been about 4 1/2 years since my surgery and I have been on the patch, starting out with a .75 patch and now I am on lowest one , so things look like they get better. In the first year or two I could not lower, but seems easier to do now. I do have occassional hot flash and mood thing, but it passes. I am still on hrt and in my 50's, so you see everyone is different.

Hang in there
