endo hyperplasia/endo stripe thickness

Could anyone tell me how thick their endometrial stripe was before they were dx with either hyperplasia or endo cancer? From everything I read it is a fluctuating number, depending on where u are in your menstrual cycle. I am going to have a biopsy done cause gyn says it's too thick, but it's only1.1 cm (11mm). I'm wondering if he is just being overly carefully - which works for me!!

Thanks for any help.

endo hyperplasia/endo stripe thickness

I don't know about a "stripe", but the day before my endometrial biopsy, I had an ultrasound done, and my endometrium was 17.5 cm thick. This was AFTER a week of very heavy bleeding... going through a superplus tampon every hour or two.

I wish I could get another u/s done before surgery.. just for curiosities sake.

17.5 cm is thick. I think 12 is about as high as it should go. So now even with hyperplasia you bleed alot? I thought that hyperplasia would prevent you from bleeding heavily because your not sloughing off the cells.

Yes, I was bleeding alot... in June, I spotted a week, then almost hemorrhaged for a few days (3 or 5? don't recall how long) going through a superplus tampon every hour or two, then settled down to regular bleeding for another 4 or 5 days.. then spotted a week..

Had GLORIOUS two weeks clear and then started the above cycle (minus the extremely heavy bleeding) again.

This was all while taking 10mg Provera daily too.

I've finally almost stopped.. after being on provera daily since June 5th. Here's to hoping I haven't jinxed myself and start right before my surgery.
