Hello

Had my surgery on August 20, ovaries were healthy so only took the uterus and had bladder repair (birch). Was in hospital for 4 days so came home last Friday. Had to wait for bladder fo function again.
Still very uncomfortable. Resting. Continue to use pain medication every 5 to 6 hours. When I read other posts sounds like I'm a suck. Better a suck than to be in pain.
I had no idea my belly would be sooooo big. I need to read more to find out when that goes away.

How is everyone else fairing with chores? My Dh has been home for the past week and has been great but I feel bad letting him do stuff so have fixed a few dinners and that's about it.
I did a couple of loads of laundry today...had to put them in rolling luggage because I usually carry my laundry basket. Then I did my hair; now that was a chore. In spite of the chunks I've pulled out last week, I still have a thick mane of hair. It took 3 hours along with the back and forth to the laundry room.

No cooking today...ordered Chinese enough to last through tomorrow as well.

Those of you that have sweeties to help you are truly blessed. Take full advantage (in love).

I saw someone at the laundromat do this some time ago and I thought it was so tacky. Now... that's what I get for being snooty, huh. lol I threw everything in, sheets, detergent, bleach, fab sof. I used a fanny pack to carry my keys and coins and I was good to go.

I only ended up changing my sheets however. I didn't have the strength to fold everything. I do that tomorrw.

Hi Ladies, This is my first posting. I had a total abdominal on the 23rd (kept the ovaries). Recoopin well but this whole swellybelly thing is for the birds. I feel generally good but am resting and walking and letting my body dictate the day. All in all it hasn't been a horrible experience....if you don't count the gas pains!!!!!! I am excessively active and being a couch and bed potato is making me nuts but I will not do anything to jepordize the recovery process. I hope all you other ladies are doing well.......... happy recovering

Hello everyone, hope all is going well with recovery. I was a bad patient and actually drove the car today--had TAH on the 21st. I was going literally crazy being housebound for nearly two weeks. Had to go watch my son play some baseball in this 110 degree heat and I survived Just got home and I am a little tired but no pain and my belly isn't any bigger than when I left--not that it could be since it is literally a bigger belly than my husband at the moment. I hope I didn't trade my uterus for a pot belly All in all, recovery is going well. I get my strips off on Wednesday and an planning to go back to work next Tuesday--will see how my body feels--hopefully will do okay since I would like to make some money!! Please, will someone just tell me when the swelly belly starts to subside and I can wear normal clothes again? Thanks for all your postings-they are a huge comfort and help. Have a great Labor Day-I am off for my nap.
