I thought that I was over the hump after week 2 when I felt really good and then a set back. I guess my body is telling me that I need to slow down and take it easy. I am getting bored and trying to find things to do is getting limited. My DH has been great and lots of help! I see the Dr for my 4 week check on the 20th. And I am supposed to return to work on the 22nd. We will see what he has to say. He has to release me before I can go back. Happy thoughts to everyone on your recoveries.

Day 25

Doing fine Had a TVH, leaving the ovaries and tubes, and was home the next day. Haven't been using any pain meds, and feeling pretty good. Still afraid to do much, but I'm back at work since the 27th. I work at a gym with all women so nobody lets me do anything! It's great. I'm extremely bored and realize I'm a boredom eater, so having to really fight some munching. Had some massive emotional outbursts during week #2, and now my breasts hurt and are swelling...ugh!
For all you reading this I hope everyone is healing well and it wont be to much longer until you, we, can get back to somewhat normal living! That is of course, unless the boredom finally makes us break! lol

Seeing the doc is probably a good idea. It will give you some piece of mind. In the meantime, take it easy and rest. You will be in my prayers. Keep us posted.

I've read over the past day's posts and can see that I'm definitely not alone in how I'm feeling. I think Rita is right - the pain is the body's way of reminding us that we aren't fully healed yet and we need to take it easy.

I have to remind myself how lousy I felt *before* surgery. Light headed, short of breath, the pain, constant bleeding. As compared to that, I feel wonderful. I can walk a mile again like it's nothing, and a mile was a real chore before surgery.

I've also lost 13 pounds and no longer look pregnant. Can't beat that.

Ule asked about meds. I'm still taking a Motrin 800 during the day and Tylenol PM at night. The Tylenol is really helping me sleep, thank goodness.

I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend. Can't thank you enough for sharing your stories and being such a caring, supportive group of women.

I haven't posted anything for a few weeks. I have been feeling great after my LSH on Aug. 21st. I have never had so much energy in my life. After my two weeks post op appointment, I asked if I could go back to work week 3. I decided to go on Wednesday so I wouldn't over do it by trying a 5 day work week immediately. I have a Corporate Office job so I figured no big deal b/c I feel fantastic! I never had spotting or anything after my surgery. It's been great. Well yesterday was Friday and I think I might have over done it somehow. I felt like crap last night and woke up this morning and saw I was spotting bright red blood.! I was shocked! I never had any spotting after my surgery so I wasn't expecting to see that. I think running around the office in heels was a bit too much. I called the doc this morning and I am on house arrest for the weekend until I go to the doctor Monday morning. If the bleeding get's worse I will have to go to the ER. Right now it's only spotting but I have already been told that I can't go to work Monday. I am so upset. I thought I was just fine. I haven't had pain or anything since the 1st two weeks of my procedure. DH didn't think it was a good idea to go back to work so soon but I was SO BORED at home and I thought that since I mostly sit in front of a computer all day I would be fine but runnign back & forth to the copy machine probably wasn't a good idea. I have to go the doctor on Monday and I am just hoping I haven't messed up anything. I am trying not to be worried but I am and I hoping that I will not be put on "house arrest" again by the doctor. There is absolutely nothing on daytime tv. I guess it was still too soon to get all the back to my regular routine.

Hi..I also had a LSH one day after you...I also feel like I can do alot and I am bored with not being able to do much....I am going to try and go to work for 2 nites, 4hrs each, next week...I sit behind a desk with minimal walking back and forth...I bought a few pairs of flats to wear as my feet have not been in heels for months.....I do expect not to be able to do more that those 2 nites and will see how I feel...I went food shopping Monday, had sent my DH on Sunday for all heavy items, and by the time I was done, I think I wound up paying for it all this week.....I spotted a little Wed.. but it was gone by evening so I have been doing nothing for the rest of this week....we have to remember the INTERNAL healing takes months..some say even a year so I think we really have to not expect to be able to do what we used to no matter how good of shape anyone was in before...this is a whole new ball game now for our bodies and we need to listen to them!!...Let us know how the doc appt goes and hopefully you will just be told you overdid and to take it easy again

I will definitely take your advice on buying a couple of pairs of flat shoes. My boss even asked me why I came back to work with heels on.

I feel a little better now and think that I did just over do it. It's hard to remember without having any pain the there is a lot of healing still taking place on the inside. My DH told me that he thought I was doing too much but I didn't agree. The spotting really stopped me in tracks to let me know that I am not healed yet.

I will definitely post on Monday after my doctor's appointment to let you know what he says. He will probably make me rest a little longer. That is so hard to do when I am used to being so busy. I don't want to create problems for myself down the road by not following the rules so I will do whatever the doc tells me no matter how BORED I might be.

I also had an LSH on 8/24 and I just talked to my boss yesterday and we picked some days on October's schedule for me to go back to work. I am an RN at an outpatient surgery center and work part time. I just told her that I was expecting to feel as good as new by now (3 weeks since surgery). I guess as prepared as I thought I was I really wasn't. Most of the time I feel great but can tell when I do to much because I get crampy and feel a pulling on the left side (almost like severe ovulation pain). I am glad I have an understanding boss because there is no way I could handle being on my feet all day working at a fast pace. Also, my "swelly belly" is driving me nuts. I just went and bought 2 pairs of workout pants so I have something to wear. There's no way I'm putting on jeans yet.

My LSH was on Aug. 21st and I THOUGHT I felt as good as new. WRONG!! I too would get a little crampy on the left side like ovulation pain. I was going completely stir crazy at home. I had so much energy during the day that when I would go to bed I woudl be WIDE awake and wouldn't fall asleep until around 3am. I went back to work week 3 on a Wednesday. I was so happy to be busy again. I passed out on the couch by 9pm the 1st day. It was just relieved to go to sleep at a decent time. From my previous post I noted that I was spotting bright red this morning. I never had ANY spotting or discharge after surgery. I know when I see the doc on Monday, he will make me stay home longer again. That sucks! If I have to watch one more juddge show, I am going to scream.

My swelly belly finally went down. I have lost 10 pounds since the surgery. I eat normal again but haven't gained any weight back and I am glad about that. Although my swelling is gone, my stomach beneath my navel is still black & purple. That's real attractive on top of the stretch marks that are already there from my kids.

I also noticed that by going back to work, my belly button has become sore when it hasn't been sore since the 1st week. I had plenty of errands planned for today, now I am stuck in the house again!

Good luck with your appointment on Monday - look forward to hearing what the doc says. Hopefully, you'll just need to take it easy for awhile.

One thing I've definitely learned in the past three weeks is just *how* dissatisfied and burned out I am with my job. I haven't missed it a single bit. I miss my friends, but not the work and associated stress. I love being home, going for walks when I want, catching up on sewing projects, reading, etc. I go back Oct 5, and want to enjoy every minute until then...

Everyone take care...
