LuvmyK9 you are a very good friend for helping out your friend now..that is nice to hear that she was there for you and now you for her!!.......I too have been sleeping on the couch..the first wk DH let me have the bed to myself as I could not sleep fitfully through the night....by wk 2 I told him to take the bed and found when I lay on the couch I get a more restful sleep as I do not toss and turn as there is not enough room!!...Plus no chance of him turning over and accidently laying his arm across my belly...even though I only had 4, 1 inch incisions that are pretty healed the whole area still swell by mid day and is sore at night from my walking around during the day, I guess....Hopefully by the time we get moved to the Clubhouse at 8 weeks, we will be more ourselves again!!

I also have a Chocolate Lab and a Border Collie who like to share my bed. The poor pups just don't understand why they can't jump up on me. I have myself baricaded on my couch so there is no chance of one of them jumping up on the couch to sleep. My poor lab was just recently adopted. She came from a situation where she had been abused. I feel bad that i have to keep pushing her away from me. She is trying to come out of her shell and everytime I push her away she gives me such sad eyes. I wish I could make her understand what is going on. At least sleeping on the couch I can be near them I would have to lock them out of the bedroom to sleep on the bed.

How do we get to the clubhouse I don't see any links for it.

Ok, four weeks today and I have to say I feel pretty good. Itching has calmed down a bit. Off to take my mom to the Dr Usually my husband does this but he got called into work days so I am on my own. I am going to try and do a bit more around here today. I promise to take it easy. Just so many mountains of things have grown in four weeks!!! And I have to look for things to wear to work next week for Thrus and Fri. Hope you all have good day......

Week 4- A OK!

Saw the Dr. Monday for my post-op. Everything is healing nicely but still "nothing vaginal" for two more weeks...translation: no sex. ::sigh::

I go back to work tomorrow. No big deal since I work in a cube farm and sit all day long like a veal.

It's been great having all the support from my hyster-sisters!

I have a Yorkie, and he has been such an angel through all of this. He's such a mama's boy - I was really concerned about how he'd do after my surgery. I kept a pillow on my tummy to protect it, but I swear that dog has a sixth sense. He was so gentle, and it didn't matter if I was in bed all day and night, he stayed there with me.

I'm so thankful for him - total unconditional love. AND, even if I don't feel like going for a walk, he gives me "the eyes" and I just can't resist. So, I'm getting my exercise - thanks in part to Tucker.

Animals are such a comfort to us and really contribute so much to healing. They seem to know what's good for us. After my hysterectory I was concerned about my 5 kitties who climb on and off the bed all night long. Several of them are even used to sleeping on top of my stomach and giving me tummy massages. Locking them out of the bedroom was out of the question since they'd just meow and scratch on the door and drive us nuts. So I built a "tent" over my stomach using a wedge shaped pillow on one side and a soft feather pillow on the other. Now everyone's happy. 2 of the kitties also escort me around the property, walking right along side of me when I take my daily walks.

On another note: I'm 4 weeks post op and SNEEZED today for the first time. I've been so petrified of this, thinking it would rip my stitches open internally, but I was amazed at the result. I always sneeze twice and it was a very gentle, from-the-stomach type sneeze like I've never felt before and it didn't even hurt. I guess your body automatically adjusts things for you.

Maggie, you are progressing nicely. Take it easy and get better. I remember having to hold my stomach and double over when I sneezed/coughed. No problem now.

I know that I am still suffering from swelly belly which he recommended mylicon for (I don't feel like it's gas related) and also get tired and sore by evening when I try to do more. He encouraged me to push myself more. I told him I didn't want to ruin anything he did on the inside and he said that I couldn't do any damage. Do any of your doctors (mainly those who had the LSH) tell you what mine told me?
I had a LSH also on 8/24 and my doctor told me the same thing except to wait until week 4 for sex. He told me to do what I feel up to doing and that I could not do any internal damage because of the way he did the surgery with no stiches except in the incision. I too thought it was weird and have been trying to take it as easy as possible. I get very tired by the evening and feel very sore at times. I am personally trying to listen to my body and only do the things that do not cause me discomfort.

Well driving wasn't too bad. I drove like it was my first time behind the wheel. A trip that would normally take me 30 minutes to drive took me nearly an hour. Another step forward yeah!! Well all this extra stuff tired me out so think I will lay down and take another nap. I wonder if I could talk my employer into requiring a mandatory nap time at work
