I hadn't thought about day-after Thanksgiving shopping. What a nice goal to look forward to. That's one of my favorite days. I love to go early with my best friend and DD, shop until mid or late morning and then go to a nice restaurant for brunch. What fun! It's great to think ahead to that as I'm feeling sooo tired.
I have a cleaning business, and I'm going to do my first cleaning tomorrow morning. My problem is that mornings still aren't my good time, even though I'm definitely a morning person. Wish me stamina.
I am healing well, but am still fighting fatigue.

Mandi,
I clean six houses, but I only do one of them weekly. The others are every two weeks or every three weeks. My doctor isn't very specific on his post-op instructions. He said no lifting over 20 lbs. for 4-6 weeks. Well, today is four weeks, and my vacuum is about 20 lbs., so I think I'm okay. Several of my clients are around 90, so I know they depend on me. I'll let you know how tomorrow goes.

Yes, same age (almost), same name, but I'm not from UK. I"m from NE Pennsylvania. I'd love to see the UK, though. But we seem to be having the same kind of day today. Headache, queasy, BLAH! It's not gotten any better as the day has gone on. Let's hope for a better tomorrow. We deserve it!
And yes, I had a TAH. One ovary removed as well. The other was removed a few years ago.

Hi Chattyabby and Dfree,

Generally, I feel pretty good too. Other than a bit more swelly belly, tiredness and discomfort when I do too much, I am doing well. So goes the signals to slow it down. I am just at that place where I want to do so much more and I am getting restless. My brain is there, but my body tells me "yea right, I don't think so."

I am a director of an afterschool program with about 80 children enrolled which operates on the campus of one of our local schools in the OC. I was a teacher for about 10 years and a therapist/social worker for 12 years. I am used to being with lots of people, so this being at home is driving me crazy. I love working with my staff and kids and want to go back to work; my brain is there but I'm not sure if I can handle a full day and pull it back when I need to do so. I visited my site yesterday and was thrilled at how great the rooms looked, the teachers have been busy and the kids were giving hugs and asking when I was comming back. I'm just a little scared.

On a how wierd life can be note; which appeals to my love of irony. I have missed my first period this week and really haven't had much bleeding, which has been a great relief after having months of 20- 25 day long periods with 2 weeks in between. Well as it goes, my 13 year old D started her period and my toy poodle went into heat on the same day.

I did know what to do for my daughter, administer chocolate and give her lots of tlc; yet, I did not know what to do for the dog....so I got out one of those mega pads from the hospital pack and put it inside a pair of newborn pants. This worked for a while, until the clever beast learned how to rub up against things until she could wiggle out of her contraption. Not to be out smarted by any creature who responded to the name Bubbles, I bought newborn diapers and used a cloth diaper to pin over the disposable diaper. This seems to have done the trick. I am smarter than the dog, really I am.

Just when I rejoiced at not having to change any more pads my dog starts her period!!!! Someone upstairs has a good sense of humor.

Hoping everyone finds something to smile about today!!!!

Cathy

Again, The Sisters Helped...

I felt terrific yesterday, I really did. And this morning, I felt "on top of the world". I even said to my best buddy that I hadn't felt this well since the operation (August 28). Well, I guess I overdid it, without even knowing I overdid it. Without even knowing what I did to overdo it. I dunno, it's frustrating. But suddenly, I was in pain, spotting (I haven't spotted since September 3rd)....I don't know what I did. I went shopping. I went for a pedicure. I drove around a bit. I chopped some vegetables and cooked a meal. I lifted some LIGHT (and I do mean light) grocery bags. I picked up my sister at the airport. I mean, come on....it's been 4 weeks, I can't do these tiny little baby steps without it setting me back????

I am so, so, so frustrated now.

I just had a meltdown myself, crying to my husband that I'm falling apart. Yesterday was great. Today I'm an absolute mess. It seems I'm getting one thing on top of another and it doesn't seem to be related to surgery. Now I have a lump on the bottom of my skull. Are there lymph glands there or something? It's like someone hit me with a baseball bat at the base of my head. My hip still itches for no good reason. My elbow and hands hurt. What next! Please.....let tomorrow be like Monday.
