I guess I better check in too...

I am sooooo tired! I am still having twinges of pain in where I think to be my vaginal cuff area. My Dr.'s office called today and they want to bump my appointment up a day...A big Woo Hoo from my husband :>) I guess that makes it 2 more days until lift off! HA! I don't even know when I will have a spare minute to even be with my husband....I guess we can hang a closed sign in the shop window..HA!

I haven't had a bladder flare up yet. I always have a flare the week after I ovulate. They are hoping the Hyster. took care of the bladder issue. The fybroid was large and laying on top of my bladder. Well, if I flare, it will be this week. I am praying I won't. The last thing I want is a vaginal exam during a bladder flare up. I am very nervous about the vaginal tears also. They were really hurting last week. I finally decided to have my hubby use a q-tip and put antibiotic ointment on them. They started feeling bettter in 2 days. I have been doing that every night hoping it would heal before my check-up this week. We will see Wednesday.....Oh how I dread that exam!

We had a full week at the new store and then I had a garage sale of all things this last weekend! Today was spent cleaning house and I also gave my Mom a perm. I have not made my bed in 2 weeks..I can't believe I even told that one :>Z I also have not put the clean laundry away out of the laundry baskets on my bedroom floor in a week and 1/2. I got my room cleaned up and my marrried daughter drops by and says. "Mom, your room looks great!" I was a little embarressed seeing how I always had to ride her to keep her room clean.

It is good to read that everyone is feeling some better. I was wondering about you all. I better skeedaddle..I have a hungry husband that will be walking through the doors in about 20 minutes.
Blessing's to you all....

Well...tomorrow is my 6 week check up. Never thought I'd be so glad as to say that(although, my husband is probably more excited)making me nervous...

Hope everyone is well...I'll let you know how it goes

Happy Canadian Thanksgiving back (I'm from Ontario too!)

I just want to say, silly as it sounds, that I love you all. You have helped me through the toughest time of my life. I honestly would have been lost without my sisters on this board, you just helped "normalize" everything for me. I didn't know what to expect with this hysterectomy, I wasn't given any of the information I really needed (but I didn't know to ask for it), and if I didn't have all of you, I would have thought I was nutso in the heado.

Thank you all. Free, I pray for you, you're the only one of of us left with risidual treatments, and please let us know how they go. I pray for your good health. It will be so, positive thinking is a bit part of it.

Okalahoma kitty once again I cracked up at one of my sisters. "Lift off". I love it. Maybe tomorrow???? I'll let you know - because I can, because I can type about the most personal of things here, with my sisters.

My 6 week post-op is tomorrow.....I'll check in again. Just really (despite feeling great, or because of it) wanted to send you all my true love.

Charlene (Diamondlover).

Hi Charlene,
You said it beautifully. Everyone here has been an enormous help. I knew nothing about what I was going to experience. But I knew that if I had a problem I could always come to the board and find support.
I went back to school on Wednesday. By Friday I was exhausted and all I did was test little first graders. I hope the fatigue eases up as the days go on.
My 6 week checkup is on Thursday. Sounds like a lot of us will be going in within the next few days. It will be interesting to see how everything goes with everyone.
Happy Thanksgiving to all the lovely Canadians! I've been to Toronto once....a teacher conference. Loved the place!!!
Have a restful sleep everyone!
Sandy

I am new here...I am at my 6 week on Wed. My Dr. gave me no information, everything I know I learned here but I was afraid to join in until now. I am still very scared, I still get a bad burning pain and a stabbing pain at the bottom of my pubic bone...because my job is so physical the Dr has me off till I am at 8weeks...I just can't seem to judge if I am doing too much or not pushing enough.
Any words of encouragement?
Thanks for being there,
I'm Listo (ready)

Sandypa,
I went back to work half-days for 2 weeks before I started full-days on Fri. I went home exhausted every day until the Tues. of my 2nd (half-week) back. Every day got better. Then Fri and today were exhausting again on full days. I expect it to gradually get better too. Maybe you can go part-time for a while till you really ready to be back. Hope your principal is understanding. Another thing I did the first week back that helped ALOT was to wear a wide ace bandage around my belly. It wasn't tight, but gave enough support that my back and tummy didn't feel so fatigued before my work day was up.

Listo
Welcome to the sisterhood. I'm at the 6wk mark and still have discomfort in that area when I am tired or urinating or having a bm. If you're having stabbing pains, though, I'd contact my dr. just to make sure your stitches are ok. I hope you find the support and comfort here that I've found. I helps to know others are going through the same things you are. Let's me know I'm not nuts.

On that note, are any of you on NRT having problems with irritability? I bit someone's head off today (a class of someone's), granted, they were being very loud, not listening, and acting as if they were not in my presence. I was on Prozac before surgery but stopped and was hoping not to resume since I had none of those issues while recuperating. And I have 2 teenagers with all the teenage issues "blooming" at the moment, and had no problems dealing. I really didn't want to start back because I lost 12 lb. and know it'll come right back if I get back on that bandwagon.
Some of you mentioned resumed sex, or fear of it. It was great, but we took great care to be tender. I had only one problem with that, afterwards I had sore tender swelly belly for 2 days (of course we didn't wait for dr appr., darn those raging hormones!!!). He'd been so sweet and good to me, I couldn't say no. I felt like a teenager again having to be talked into with him, knowing it was really too soon, but not really wanting to wait either.
I've only got one more day of work (without the kids) and then we have fall break!! So I'll be out of here with the DH to mtn. I'll check back in when I return. Hope everyone's week goes well.

Yes, I do and I thought maybe bladder infection, but DR says no just pressure from surgery and all the readjustments that had to be done. I have noticed if I wait to long to go that makes it worse. He said there is over the counter reliever for this problem also, can't remember what he said, pharmicist would know. I have my six week check up on Friday. My husband commutes back and forth for work and he has been gone for a month so he is anxious to get home, for guess what!!!! Not sure if I am ready. We'll see what dr says. Take care Tina

The best I could give you if it hurts it is too much, don't it anymore. This is a very invasive surgery. It's going to take time for all of the insides to heal properly. Hope this helps. Take care Tina.

Just a quick note about our first time. My stomach hurt too much for him on top. Didn't even get to the internal to know how it was. Will have to try again in a different position.

Thanks for that note, Hope, because it's "all systems go" for me now, and I"ll bear that advice in mind (as opposed to bearing the weight of my husband - hee hee).

Well, I went for my 6 week post op, and the doctor was pleased with everything. He said I can resume normal activities, including working, exercising, lifting/bending, sex......he said to just be sensible. Oh no, do I have to vacuum again??? Downer.

I'm going back to work tomorrow. I'm a shiftworker, and my platoon actually starts tomorrow, for 5 days. Well, 2 "days" and 3 "nights". It's going to be freaky working three 14 hour nightshifts this weekend! I'll let you know how it goes. I'm feeling good about it though, I work with a great group, we do have beds there that I can lie down on if need be (and my co-workers will encourage it).

Listo, I'm glad you've been lurking, hopefully we helped "normalize" some of the stuff you're going through. But I'm even happier you're posting now, with your questions. I, too, have sharp pains off and on above the pelvic bone, to the right and the left. I asked my doctor about it, and he said it was either the ovaries he tampered with (cauterized) or the internal stitches. He wasn't overly concerned, thought it was normal.

My pathology report was great, and all that was noted was "fibroids" and "extensive adenomyosis", which we knew was the case.

Ladies, again my sincere thanks for everything, absolutely everything. For sharing this journey. I WILL check back in after my first tour of duty, and see how you're all doing, let you know how it went for me. I wish us all good health and continued recovery.

Charlene
