Hi Listo,

My smells have been way off since the surgery. I don't know why other than supposing its the hormones or not enough of them. It's been this way since the surgery and I don't expect it to change anytime soon. Can you wear a filtering mask while working with the animals? Good Luck. You have a very interesting job!

Listo - I haven't heard of that at all either..but this surgery seems to have affected everyone differently. If I were you I'd be googling menopause to see if you can find anything about it somewhere, only because I can't stand not knowing.

Karen - Keeping your treatments in thoughts and prayers.

I had my first week of work. I only worked half days which was good because between that and getting the last things done for the Megan Kanka Foundation Casino Night, I've been exhausted. The fundraiser was last night..I spent all day setting up, running around for last minute stuff and didn't get home until midnight. Function went well, hopefully we raised some money! This afternoon I have my niece's christening.. Hopefully I can get a little rest before then so I can stand up as the Godmother!

This week I'm still working half days, so I'm planning on trying to take it easy every afternoon. I'm thinking about going to a movie one day, probably by myself.

Sending good thoughts to all my sisters!

Hi girls.
I'm starting to get more energy back.. finally! I'm actually on my second load of laundry today. Oddly, I'll do really good (energy wise) for a day or two, then I'll have a day where I need to take a nap. I have my next CT scan on Friday, then I'll see my surgeon on Wednesday and my GYNE on Thursday. Depending on the results of my CT scan is if I can go back to work on Nov. 5. Very hopeful, as I run out of sick time then, and will start losing my vacation days if I have to take any more time off after the 5th. My DH has been sooo wonderfully supportive. He will probably yell at me when he gets home for doing laundry. Feel bad for the guy.. he's been doing it all since my first surgery 8 weeks ago.
HATE this swelly belly the most. Still having some discomfort around the incision area and I'm still having some problems with my colon issue. Other than that... doing well.
Celebrated my 40th birthday on Friday! WWhhh-hoooo!!!! Not even too depressed for hitting the big 4-0. Hopefully, I'm on the mend and will have my old life back soon.
Glad to hear so many of you are doing great!

Happy Birthday!

Ah - the big 4-0!! Way to go. I'll be celebrating the big 5-0 in 2008, have a wonderful trip planned to Italy and Austria. May as well hit 50 in style.

I'm doing very, very well. Sex life is normal, physically feel normal, energy level is normal. I'm at the point now where, with the exception of the visual of the incision, I wouldn't know I had surgery. Every once in a while, I remember that I'll never, ever have debilitating pain again, and I raise a glass of pinot grigio to my surgeon.

God love you all!!

Hi girls.

Havn't posted in a while. It has been busy around here. I live near the fires in the OC, Portola Hts. area. I am the director of an after school program with staff and about 100 kids I'm resposible for. We were not evacuated, but we were on watch. Havn't been sleeping much the last few days due to the fires and concerns about which way it would go. Wasn't quite ready for this yet after surgery, but we made it through. Things look much better now so I'm feeling the exhaustion and could sleep for a few days.

Thanks to the police and firefighters!!!! My heart goes out to all in San Diego and we here in the OC welcome them. Prayers also to those displaced around her by the fires. There has been such an outpouring of support here to those who were not as fortunate. It rekindles faith in human kind to see the love shown.

I ask we all send our prayers!

Agape, peace and blessings.

Cathy

Glad to hear you are safe & sound. Hope it continues.

I am feeling mostly terrific - sounds like most of us are - but have had pink spotting and painful intercourse. Yesterday my gyn applied silver nitrate to the parts that were scarring instead of healing properly, granulation. Aside from some blackish brown discharge and cramping, it had no ill effects. I am heading for vacation in Kauai smiling. I do not need to go back for a full year! Hurrah!

Wishing you all a joyous autumn and the blessings of good health for the future.

I too live in one of the fire storm areas, we're outside San Diego county..we were evacuated, horses, dogs, tortoise, DH, DD, DS but are back home now! I'm afraid I may have over done it lifting, I have alot of burning and stabbing pain and am so very tired. I was to start back to work tomorrow but my boss thinks it will be too much work for me, they have lost power and water in some of the areas which will mean halling water on top of our regular work. I am greatful for her understanding.

designergal, I hope your healing becomes easier, a Kauai vacation should be enjoyed painfree!

jackie129, your DH sounds wonderful hold on to him.

Thank you all for being there sometimes I need an outlet where I don't feel guilty for not feeling well.

Wild fire relief for all and may you all be safe.

8 weeks now. Still quite tired & achey at times. 2nd week back to work has been tiring, had to drive 2 days this week about 170 miles round trip. Still trying not to lift or strain which is a good thing, at work offices are shifting around & things moved & I don't have to do any of it! On the plus side at weight watchers this morning my weigh in was my lowest since I joined, I was all swollen last week when I went so it was nice.

Well tomorrow is my first full day back at work. I have to admit that I'm a little nervous about whether I can make it through a whole day.. I haven't had a lot of pain but last week working part-time I was tired, even without having the Casino Night fundraiser to work on every night like the week before. I absolutely can not wait for the time change. I have such a problen getting out of bed in the morning. That's a usual problem for me though..not at all surgery related.

Hope everyone is doing well.

Well tomorow I start a new job

I went back to work at my other job last week. It was not fun. I had the week from hell. I was not treated nice what so ever and when I got home I was so tired I went right to sleep. Friday was really the day I wanted to walk out. Well I get home I Have a job offer on the answering machie that I applied for a while back. I start Monday. I am taking it. Hours better and better work conditions. I am sure I will be tired this week to but looking forward to better working conditions.
Have a good week at work all.
