Hi, Hatteras!!

Two accupuncture treatments stopped my night sweats! I had a total hysterectomy, and had severe headaches and 7-8 episodes of night sweats. Now, after 1 week, I have maybe "1" per night and it is mild!
Hope this helps!

Hi Ladies

Nice to hear all the good news you all have. This is my 6th week, however, I don't see my doctor until next week so I haven't been released. Thanks for the info on the accupuncture. Between the night sweats, hot flashes, insomnia and lack of concentration I could you all the help I can get. Had my cervux and uterus removed kept both ovaries and was not expecting this at all. They say it will get better I can't wait. Not to mention the swelly belly, can't get into any of my clothes comfortably 2hrs is the limit. I hope to reach the state that you are all in soon. Thanks for giving me something to look forward to.

Hi Ladies
I had my 6 wk check last week and was cleared for all. DH was so happy and our first time, the night of my 6 wk check, did not hurt. I do have to admit DH was a bit eager and fast. Well, I am sure it will get back to normal. I am back at work, still tired in the afternoon but trying to make it through. Still have to take ambien to sleep, if I don't I can wake up 3-5 times a night and sometimes staying awake for hours. Dr said swelling in belly could be there several months. Yuk, can get my dress pants on, just not comfortable all day, no way on the jeans. I am so looking forward to normal again. Did hear it could be several months for that so I guess just take it one day at a time.

Im doing good. Actually hiked 1 1/2 miles sat with geology class. Didn't need to nap after, though calf musles were really sore sunday. Other than the inconvience of having catheter straped to my leg things are really good. Haven't found any pants with leg wide enough to be able to wear them so Im wearing dresses more than I ever have. Bladder seems to be getting better, went for cystogram and fistula could not be seen and next day was just barely leaking I went from 5 pads aday to 1 and probably could wear that one longer. Urologist keeping catheter in til Nov. 1 then we'll see. So past 6 wk no release DH supportive just wants release b4 his bd on Nov. 8

Neighbors and twin hyster sisters how cool! Why did you have to do the catheter?

Hi Sisters,
I have not had my 6 week check up yet. I'm calling today to make it. Feeling pretty good except when it gets around 5 pm. Tummy hurts and it gets swollen. I know it will take a while to get fully back in shape. Still having a problem with BM's. Also have insomnia. I usually wake around 1:30 to 4:30. I am taking fiber and eating fiber cereal and lots of water.
TexasLady I had the cat for 3 weeks. There is light at the end of the tunnel.
You are all in my thoughts and prayers.

Hi Ladies,
Glad to hear that most of us are doing well. I am at the 7 week mark and will be returning to school Nov. 1st. Did not want my first day back to be Halloween. I teach first grade. So I asked if I could come back the day after Halloween. Halloween is always fun, but extremely busy & stressfu.

I can't quite figure out if my only remaining ovary is working properly or not. Sometimes I feel sooo warm. Not really hot, but warm. I am not sure if I am losing more hair than before or not. It always looks like a lot of hair caught on the trap.

Still having pains on my right side. This side is where I kept my ovary. The pain is starting to concern me. I have mentioned it to my doctor and he says that it is normal, but is it at this point. I don't want to keep bothering him, but I'm just not sure.

Swelly belly is horrible. Clothes don't fit and don't really want to buy new ones.

Anyway, continue on the road of progress everyone.

Hi Everyone,
Haven't posted in a while, as I've been working and pretty much returning to a normal life. Still have a 50 pound lift restriction which is mostly for work, since I work with wheelchair transportation fairly often. I drive for a living, rural transit, so no wheelchairs for another 2 1/2 weeks, which is ok, since I don't think the contortions I'd have to go through to do the tie-downs would feel too great. Other than that, most everything is pretty much back to normal. I am tired out after a full day, but much less than two weeks ago. I'm coming up on 7 weeks, and am very happy with the progress I feel in the last week or so. Doc said all was looking good at my 6 week appt., and said he'd see me again if I ever needed anything! Obviously he's pretty confident that I won't! lol Which is fine with me. He was a gynecological surgeon, so chances are in my favor that, since everything except my vagina was removed, I'll not have need of him again! lol For those still on the 6th week, hang in there. You'll be surprised at the difference one week can make at this point! I feel almost normal, other than a little numbness in the belly muscles which Doc said would return when the nerves finished growing back. My strides are longer, my stamina is increasing, my bowel movements have stabilized, and the hormones seem to be leveling out. It will be 8 weeks for me on Nov. 4th, so rest assured "it will come"! Take care all and patient healing!

Hi all,
Had my 6 wk. Dr. visit today. He said everything looked great, all my stitches were disolved. No more restrictions, just listen to my body.
