Don't know where to start

I am scheduled to have my surgery 11/14/07 and I am one who does not like to go into things not knowing something so I am trying to learn all I can before hand.


I don't know where to sart with this hormone stuff. I am totally lost. I need a HRT 101.

How will I know if I need hormones? Why do some use estrogen and other use progestrone or a combination of both.

What I do know is that most of the patient wo use the same dr. I am using leave the hospital on a patch. What is that?


How will I know if it is working or if I need something else?

I'm so confused. I know that outcomes from surgery can be based on how you feel about it. I feel great about my decisionto havethe surgery but I am confused aboutthe hormone part. Someone please help me!!!!!!!

Are you keeping your ovaries? Your profile indicates you are unsure. If you keep your ovaries you may not need hrt. If you are having them removed, a patch is a good option to start with.
