Hang in there, Samantha! It will happen eventually. Did your doctor give you anything to help? Mine gave me a gentle softener, and it has helped alot. Also, drink lots of water, the more hydrated you are the better things will move. My doc said anywhere from 24-48 hours is normal.

4 days post-op and I am hurting but doing much better. I can tell a difference between yesterday and today. My back is tender on each flank side but no bleeding and pain is tollerable. (Not without constant pain meds., though). My husband says that I appear to be moving a bit more smoother.

Hello, glad to be on this side!! Had my LAVH on wed am and came home thursday around 5pm. Am drinking alot, walking around some, still need the pain meds. I have the awful side pain as well.
I ended up keeping my ovaries, doc did remove several more areas of endo.
DH is being very sweet and just had a good friend bring me a bag of goodies and dinner. she also wrote me a funny book about "where did my uterus go?" She took a child's book and typed in her own words. It is hysterical..what a great friend!

I had my LSH today. I was so nervous the night before, but I slept great. It was done at 7:30am and went rather well. I think the hospital over did it a tad with the pain meds, because it took me forever to wake up. I did have a surprise however, my DH said the doctor removed my ovary because of a cyst. I had no idea I had such a thing. I am so sore, of course. I find it a little difficult to get out of bed, but I am trying to walk as much a possible to help ease the pain. My fingers and hands are a little puffy, maybe because I am a little dehydrated. I can't believe how long it took me to pee! I finally did, I was so happy. They gave me a choice to stay in the hospital overnight or go home, I chose home. I think everyone does better and recovers faster in their own familar surroundings. Thanks for the kind words, needed advice and encouragement that I have received here. I wish everyone the best also.

I came home from the castle last evening (Friday) after a TAH BSO on Wednesday. I have had no problems (although haven't passed the BM hurdle yet), and feel pretty good. I haven't had any pain relievers other than ibuprofen since early Thursday morning, either!

Other than the fact the dr. said he didn't anticipate anything bad in the pathology reports the best new is that he told my daughter and my significant other that once the swelling has gone down I will probably be able to fit into a size smaller jeans My uterus was the size of a five month pregnancy, had two 7cm+ fibroids and several smaller ones!

Everyone was definently right, the waiting was the very worst part. It is so good to be back home!

Total Sept 11th

Hello ... I just had a total overhaul Tuesday morning. I wasnt let out of hospital until Thursday. I hurt so much in the hospital until I got them to give me stoll softners. They helped me release a little pressure but that was about it. Friday the worst day ever!!!! Everyone kept saying the 3rd and 4th day are the worst. I dont know why but they were right. Today (Sat) I dont even feel like moving. I tried to go out for a car ride just to get some air and enjoy the beautiful day .... Im paying for that now. My daughter turns 9 on monday and Im going to let her have a couple of friends over tomorrow for 2 hours. I hope I feel up to it, but I have wonderful family and friends that will be here to help.

I am not on any medicines besides pain killers. I go Monday and have the staples removed. Everyone keeps asking me if he will be putting me on hormones but he hasnt said anything about it.

I just joined this website last night and every minute that I am up on the computer I check things out because Im really not sure what to expect to come with having everything taken out. I have read some great and helpful things so far.

Thanks for everything

Greetings my beautiful sisters!
Just got out today had TAH on Thursday, they let me go a day early since I have been doing so well. I believe I may be one of the luckier ones because I have very little pain and every know & then the burning sensation. The worst part is the gas in the shoulder area, other then that I am doing great.

I was so afraid of this & am so glad to be on the other side. The fear was the worst part because it wasn't even half as bad as I expected it to be
