Day 7

Well, this time last week I was pretty out of it.(had a morphine pump though, miss that sucker.. )First few days were tough, though not near as bad as I thought they would be.And I am embarressed to say,I have been using the wrong abbreviation for my procedure,I had a LAVH/BSO,I had been leaving that BSO out until I read the abbreviation chart and thought hey I HAD that too!!..Anyway back on topic,I am resting, and trying to get around, but the last 3 days I have felt the worst I think.I get dizzy all the time when I stand up,(makes showers scary)and nausea is becoming the norm for me.BMs are pretty regular, gas is passing as it should be, ,I seem to be having hot flashes though,is that possible this soon? I envy those of you walking 20-30 minutes, seems the walk to the kitchen or bathroom is neverending.Feel like a crappy Mom because my kids are waiting on me instead of vice versa,I know they know Mama had major surgery, and they understand but it doesnt take the guilt away.Gee I bet you all wanted to hear me whine.. Anyhoo, thanks to all of you for being here ,just reading the posts is therapeutic! As soon as cash flow is better here,(we were facing bankruptcy before the cancer)I plan to do some donating to get some nifty smilies and the cool night shirt,if the past few days are any indication,I will need anything cool!! I know we barely "Know" each other, but I feel close to all of you..We truly are sisters...Bye for now..Rest,and be well..

I have not had any bleeding, but I am finding out that even doing a little is a little too much. I can tell when I have over done it....I start hurting and then my back starts to hurt. I vacuumed today, but I didn't use my arms....I used my legs. I let my whole body do the work instead of my arms...I haven't walked today...I'm just really tired and sore. 7 days post op.

Yes, but it seems to happen when I haven't gotten enough fluids. Hope you don't have a bladder infection.

Are drinking plenty of fluid?? Sometimes dehydration will cause you to be dizzy. I just put all my water bottles out in the morning and know I have to down them by nighttime. It makes frequent trips to the BR but then again, what else is there to do?? LOL I am 11 days out and still fill weak. So be patient and your stamina will return. Compared to how I felt last week when I just got home (post op day 4), I feel like a million dollars!!!!!

Dear Lori 1203,
I'm so sorry you have it so rough and am sending you good vibes.
Call your doc right away about the symptoms. Hug your kids and know you will be back to being a mom later.

I've been bleeding since my LAVH/BSO on Sept 18th. Not bad, just spotting. My doc said that this could go on for weeks and not to worry.

Day 7 also...

Hi everybody,
Last Friday was my day as well (LSH/BSO). Yesterday afternoon and today I started feeling better. My physical body has given me no problems (meaning pain, incisions, no bleeding, etc). I believe the nausea that another sister is feeling is the same as mine -- hormones! I was just lying around Tuesday, Wednesday and most of Thursday. I finally broke my Enjuvia 1.25 in half on Wednesday night and by Thursday afternoon, that nausea and headachiness faded a lot. Apparently my body doesn't like too much estrogen Today I actually walked around the mall for about 45 minutes and felt good. I can't believe just a week ago I was in surgery, really!
I feel very lucky that I'm healing as well as I am. It sounds like most of you are doing well also. What a blessing!
Continue taking care of yourselves. We're through the hard part (I hope

Hi,
This is my first post, so hope I do it right. I had TAH/BSO on the 17th. Home on the 19th. Felt pretty good except for off and on nausea until just 2 days ago. Blood count dropped pretty low after surgery and am hoping the iron rich foods and vitamins will help. My big concern is urine leakage. Had some before surgery, but with the big fibroid uterus sitting on my bladder it made sense. Now that it's all out, I thought it would be better. Am scared that I made a big mistake having this surgery. Don't want to be leaking urine the rest of my life Any advice or encouragement would be appreciated
