Anyone else having to deal with a yeast infection from all the hospital antibiotics? This is harder to deal with than my surgery recovery!
The diflucan he prescribed didn't work and things just got worse-- now I'm using a prescription cream but so far, there is no improvement! My skin is bleeding and peeling and I can't sleep! I just cant' wait to feel "normal" "down there" again!

i'm really enjoying reading everyone's story.

my LAVH was on the 20th.

i was readmitted to the hospital this past saturday for 48 hours of antibiotics due to a post-op infection. my ct scan was clear (no abcess) but i feel like a new woman following the anbx.

i'm taking it easy. i homeschool our 3 boys plus i work as a doula and photographer. i can't do any births until later in october, but today i started emailing some of my photog clients. i've had some open galleries hanging around and figured maybe i could get them closed and some orders in so we can get some $$ flowing again. my clients have been so patient

i'm thinking maybe tomorrow we'll do some school...not the full deal but maybe some to try and get the schedule rolling again.

the only time i've been out of the house has been to the hospital. i'm going a bit stir crazy...i'd love LOVE to go out to eat. i have not driven yet...i've been reading everyone's "i've done too much" stories and am a little scared to do more than i have done thus far.

i'm thinking tomorrow i may start walking too...maybe to the culdesac and back.

i've lost 15lbs but ironically i look 6m pregnant i find that amusing. i'm wearing tshirts and yoga pants.

hope everyone is well! i'm enjoying reading about you all...it's helping me a lot!

Nice to meet a fellow homeschooler! I also homeschool my kids (ages 9, 6, and 3). We are planning on doing a little light school tomorrow as well. I think it's a good idea to get the kids back into their routines--they are becoming stir crazy!

I am doing incredibly well.
There is hardly even tenderness when I roll from side to side etc.

I am so thankful.

I do have some irritation or an allergic reaction near my 2 tiny incisions. I wore hip hugger shorts Sunday and my pants hit the incisions and made them itch so I lightly scratched around them and now it is raised up and real tender.

I hate to make a fuss. I am putting hydrocortisone around it.
I hope that does the trick.

I could never imagine a painless hysterectomy but that is sure what I have had.

I bet my uterus was the sice of a 5 month pregnancy not 4 like I originally said. The surgeon said the one tumor was over 18 0z. He was surprised how huge. I'll have to call and see.

No wonder I couldn't button my pants.

I haven't been dressing in normal clothes much to just leave the incisions alone. I am in a bathing suit and cover up right now.

We are having ridiculously warm weather (80*-85*) here near Pittsburgh PA so that is a blessing. I refuse to close my pool yet so I have recuperated out back under my umbrella. Too bad I am not allowed to swim or I would heat it and do just that.

Anyway my love and prayers to all my sisters and hopes for you all to heal perfectly and swiftly.

I wish I could give you all a

Love,

I just noticed you are from Pittsburgh. My hometown. I so wish I could watch the Steelers play when I am sitting around on Sunday. I moved away 24 yrs. ago but my heart is still there. Sounds like you are recovering well. I'm not having much pain either. But I did over do it the 2nd week and had lots of bleeding. This week it has slowed down. So don't do too much to quickly. We will all get their in the end.

Blessings,

I agree about the LSH. I had mine on 9/21 and I went back to work Oct. 1st. No pain whatsoever. I am somewhat tired at night though, but that's it. Dr. even told me 10/21 for sex, but I got him down to 10/18 becuase I am going to the city (NYC) overnight for my birthday.

Had A Tah/bso On 9/21/07, Early Morning. It Took A Couple Of Hours, And Up To My Room About 1130am. Don't T Remember Much About The Recovery Room And Most Of Afternoon, But Pain Was Pretty Well Controlled With Pca Of Morphine When I Pushed It. 3 Days In Hospital, Catheter Out On Sunday And Able To "gas" On Sunday Too. Overall Hopsital Was Good Except The Pain Meds As Only A Pca Did Not Really End Of Covering The Pain. Iv Toradol Was Much Better And Worked Until They Switched Me To Oral Pain Meds On Sunday.
Now At Home For 8 Days And First Day Really Sitting Up At Computer. I Have Been Walking And Moving Around House. I Have Sitting Up Is More Uncomfortable Then Unthing. I Have The Swelly Belly, And The Sore Incision. I Am Also Adjusting To The New Hormone Replacement. Have Some Headaches And Nausea, But Hopefully Those Will Get Better. My Biggest Problem Earlier Was My Achy Legs And Calves. I Don't Know If I Was Walking Around Too Much Or What, But I Really Rested This Weekend And Now They Feel Much Better.
Looking Foward To A Restful Recovery And Taking My Six Weeks Off Work.

Well ladies I had my first post-op check-up last friday (my surgery was 9/20). I voiced my concerns that I was still in pain and still having to take the pain medicines. I told him even when I had my thyroid removed I only took them for 3 days. He told me this is the most extensive surgery I have ever had and I should expect to be in pain. Apparantly he had to scrape a lot of endo off of my bowels, so I guess that explains the back pain. He did lower my pain meds for me, but told me not to try to come off of them until the end of this week. Today I walked around Target and went to my daughter's open house at school and I am thoroughly worn out and sore tonight. I am really getting bummed about being so tired and sore. I thought having a laparoscopic/vaginal procedure that I would be feeling great by now.

I have officially started hot flashing (had both ovaries removed) but I can't start taking estrogen for another couple of weeks. Of course it is unseasonably warm! My hubby has threatened to put a lock on the thermostat

The only other surprise is a good one- my hubby has been amazingly caring and helpful. He did comment that all he does is do laundry and dishes- hello, welcome to my world!

I continue to keep you all in my prayers and I am happy (albeit a little jealous) that you all are doing so well in your recoveries!

Hey there, hope it goes away soon. Remember to do kegel exercises. Interested to know what your doc said. My bladder feels sore, like I have a bladder infection but I don't think so. I have my post-op tomorrow and will ask.

i did get out of the house tonight. dh offered to take me to walmart to see what the new releases were. we bought "next", walked me all around the supercenter and brought me home to eat dinner and watch the movie.

i'm sore but not so bad. it was GREAT to get out of my house for something besides going to the darn hospital!
