Wow, there is something I hadn't read. I'm interested in that answer as well. I can't remember the last time I saw granny panties? Is it something to do with the inscision?

Yes, I'm thinking it is the incision. It will be at the bikini line, so you will want to have panties that go above that line. I was reading that you might have some kind of discharge so wearing oanties will be needed for sanitary napkins. Thats my guess. I already have them on my list. Also they say a belly pillow. So I will bring one of those long pillows to lay on your side and you can prp your leg and belly on that. If someone can answer this that would be great

I think it really depends on the type of surgery you will have. I had a TAH with a bikini cut hip to hip. ANYTHING tight against my tummy was irritating and painful. My tummy skin is still sensitive after 7 weeks

I only wanted to wear something loose with elastic placement that would not irritate my incision. If I had not been bleeding I would not have worn anything. I purchased a package of Fruit of the Loom granny panties, 2 x's bigger (needed the extra room for all the swelling for 3 weeks) than what I wear from K-mart (6 pair for $5.99) knowing I would throw them away once I was finished with them. I wore them for about 4 weeks.

a belly pillow is a small pillow you can hold against your tummy for support for when you cough or sneeze or just need support when you move. believe me you will need it

Yes, I was glad I bought some bigger not bikini panties after I read that tip on the board because bikini's would've hit at my incision.

For me i didn't have the bikini cut. I had 4 small incisions. 1 in the belly button, 1 on the right side of belly and 2 on the left side. So for me Bikini underwear was the way to go. Any higher panties would of hit my stitches. So it really all depends on what kind of surgery you will be getting. Good luck ladies.

I had a vertical incision, so granny panties (or undies as we say here) were absolutely essential. Didn't think I was going to find undies that had elastic around my waist, but there they were... bless em...

The sort I bought also provided a bit of support when I started shuffling around at home.

My doctor wants to try the belly button. I've have two previous surgeries and have the bikini insicion. If there is a problem with scar tissue, they'll have to go with the old scar. I won't know which way they will do it till I wake up.

That was me to. I also had two previous surgeries except they both went from the belly button down to hairline. We didn't know if they could do the lapo either but they did and he also took out alot of scar tissue while he was at it. Good luck
