TAH costs?

Scheduled for December for a TAH. I have no insurance and do not qualify for public aid. Just wondering what price variations are? My local DR and hospital are great, will set up payment plans. Has anyone found other avenues of assistance? Maybe a teaching hospital? Any suggestions? Thanks

TAH costs?

I had an LAVH with repairs, and so far with all the bills that have come it, the total is a little over $42,000. We have insurance, praise God. I don't know how much an abdominal is, but my cost also includes the urologist. The hospital bill alone for me was $25,000. We have to pay about 20%, but I will wait until all the bills come in and see what our portion is. Without insurance I hope your bill isn't that high. Good luck.

TAH costs?

I consider myself very lucky. I have everything done at the hospital I work at. Anything over what insurance doesn't cover, I am fortunate enough to get written off. You are smart to set up a payment plan. Also talk to the hospital. When the hospital charges the insurance company, they insurance company agrees to pay a certain amount, and the hospital takes it. You should see if you can get that reduction in your charges. Also, I see that you are setting up a payment plan. For other people reading this, don't pour your savings into your hospital bill. As long as you give them something every month, be it ten dollars, they can't put you into collections.
I have no clue as to the costs, I live in NY, it is all expensive here.
Good luck with your surgery!!
