When do I get a diagnosis?

My question is this.......when do I find out what is causing my extreme pain every month? Is there a name for what I have? Everyone seems to have a diagnosis.

History: Excruciating periods (360 of them), walnut-sized fibroid, and heavy bleeding. Had an ablation Nov 05; life was great for 15 months, now it's all back. Gyno suggested trying progestin next, I say no I want my uterus OUT.

So what further testing will happen before the surgery? Do I just wait until she cuts me open to find out what the heck has caused all my pain?

When do I get a diagnosis?

Oh I feel your frustration! I went through the same thing! I finally told my doctor enough was enough, I wanted to know exactly what the problem was (a definitive diagnosis) and deal with whatever it was from there.

Unfortunately, a few of our issues can only be affirmatively diagnosed with surgery. It sounds to me like you need to have a heart to heart with your doc!!

Good Luck,

When do I get a diagnosis?

Oh the pain ~ I understand! I'm going to the castle 1 week from today for LSH. Anyway, it only took me one year of stabbing pain in my left abdomen to confirm my doctor's guess - adenomyosis. My second opinion doctor did an MRI of the pelvis which pretty much confirmed my regular gyn's guess from the beginning. However, apparently there is a lot they don't know for sure until they actually start taking parts out and look at them - how reassuring (lol)!

Anyway, I did tons of research on line and comparing different types of pelvic pain and syptoms. I went for a second and third opinion. Now I am finally - (only 2 1/2 years later) really ready for this! I found my way to make my peace and get the reassurance I need.

Keep reading all you can and this site has been great support and laughs for me, when I need it most and felt really alone in this.

Hugs and prayers ~ Sue

I'll be a new woman next week !!!
