Pica......

You are still early on post op.....weight gain will subside after all the swelling and fluid is gone. I loved the energy Estratest gave me and the feel good feelings I had but I couldn't tolerate the testosterone and I think the estrogen was not enough for me. I see you're from Toccoa...my sister and her family live there! Small world! I wish you the best of luck in your recovery process. Just rest all you can!

Questions about hormone therapy

Picapug, I live in Clayton, Ga. We're practically neighbors.

I don't have any experience with estratest, but I haven't noticed any weight gain with my hrt (vivelle dot). As far as how you should feel or noticing a difference, only you can tell. If you're not getting hot flashes you should be okay. Emotionally is a different story. I think the first couple of weeks after surgery it's normal to get emotional, so don't use that as a gauge. I'd say once you get past a month or so, you should be able to tell how you're really feeling with your hrt.

Thanks for the info...I am only 31 and had a very large ovarian cyst and I had the tah and only have 1 ovary, my mother passed away from a pulmanary embolism at 50 in 1993 and I have the same ob/gn that she had and he does not want me to be on estrogen. I am not sure what the other options are I am due for another shot on Oc. 19th and I am really depressed about it..Any advise?

Questions about hormone therapy

Ask your Dr. about natural progesterone cream. Did you say you only have one ovary? Did it not start back up? Also, maybe an antidepressant could help you for a short while. Not much advice, but I hope this helps.
