Hey sisters,
Just hang in there with feeling how you want to feel. Michelle I think you need to say something to your workers about being rude and insensitive about the loss of your cousin. I will pray for you with the loss of your cousin. If your workers say things about how you look, I would say wow you really think I look great (with a smile on your face) then say.. thanks for the compliment that just made my day and walk off. they might get the point.
Well ladies I decided to go out shopping on black friday, I even got up early and got to town about 6:30AM and got home about 3:30PM... I think I had temperary insanity LOL the last time I went out after thanksgiving was 14 years ago.
I got about 1/2 0f what I wanted to get since they were out of stock.
I got to go with just my older DD and that part was fun.
I told my husband not to let me every do that one again.....
that was not worth standing in line for and all the crowds... what was I thinking.
Well I made it back in one piece and I don't want to see any of the advertising for the shopping weekend.
I am tired today so I am taking it easy.
I hope everyone had a great turkey day. I sure did since we were invited over to friends home. I brought a salad.
We normally spend time with my parents but they decided to go on a cruise and we will see them when they get back for dinner and looking at pictures.
Debbie

It sounds like everyone had a nice Thanksgiving. I cooked and we had plenty of leftovers. Nothing like a turkey sandwich with lots of mayonnaise. My oldest son came home for Thanksgiving and went back home yesterday afternoon. It took him about 1 1/2 hours longer than normal to get back home because of all the traffic.

Michelle I hope that being back at work is going well for you. It is nice to get back into a routine.

Jenn I hope that you have safe travels this weekend.

I went with my youngest son to the Dr. this morning. He went last week and they cultured his throat and it was positive for staph. He will start another round of antibiotics today and hopefully get rid of this. After his appointment we went to Target and I got my Christmas shopping started. It feels good to have it started at least. After Target Andrew treated me to lunch at his favorite mexican restaurant. It was delicious
In a few minutes I am going to run to the grocery store for a few things and pick up Andrews medication and then I don't plan on leaving the house for the rest of the weekend.

Hi ladies, and thanks for the great comments. Yesterday at work went well.
I got to attend 2 deliveries and recover 2 infants. I helped the nurse on post partum before catching babies in labor and delivery. The 6 hours went quickly, and I was happy I got to leave at 1:00. I came home for awhile, then went out shopping by myself. I didn't need too many verbal comebacks at work. One midwife said, "you sure are a scrawny one.....all boobs". I said, "Yeah, I've lost about 15 pounds". She asked if it was on purpose, and I told her no. She said, Oh, I'm sorry about that; you look good. I said that I thought I looked good too, but that my family and dr want me to gain. She thinks it wouldn't hurt to. I don't want to gain weight, which is becoming a problem. Oh well...onto other stuff:
Lisa, I've heard of strep throat but staph throat? Do you know how your son got that? Please be careful that you don't get any bugs around your incision, ok? Staph struck me after surgery when I was 15 and it devastated my body.
Debbie/Unique: it was my mother in law who said the dumb insensitive comment. It's pretty much par for the course w/her. She is sweet but not bright at all. It gets on my nerves all the time.
No snow here, but I hear it's coming. Tues, Wed, Thurs, Fri it's supposed to snow like crazy. I want to go sledding w/my kids. I didn't do it last year because I was too cold. Now I'm on thyroid meds and my core temp is much higher.
I didn't get to hit the sales yesterday morning like many of you sisters did, but I got my 11 yr old a new electric guitar and amp today w/my dh's help. My dh plays for fun, so he was my expert for shopping today. I got an mp3 player that I'd like for myself, but I may give it to my 9 yr old son. Happy shopping to you all. I am planning on working 7 PM until 1 AM tonight. I've been sleeping a lot since working yesterday. Every muscle in my body is hard, tight, and sore. Wow, laying around for 7 weeks really takes a toll, aye?

Jan I made a typo. I meant to say my tummy did even out. Shopping was o.k. It was really crowded. I was glad I was alone, so I could get through there and get home. My oldest DS unloaded the groceries for me.

Michelle glad your first day back went well. When the lady said "all boobs" I would take that as a compliment. Of course I wasn't exactly blessed in that area, so it would be nice to hear that for me. lol

Lisa I hope your son feels better!

Unique I didn't even attempt shopping on black Friday. I didn't want to fight those crowds. I'm glad you had a nice time with your son. That makes it worth it.

I'll check in tomorrow. DH and I are going on a date night.

take care everyone
Cindy

Michelle, I'm glad that you had a good day back at work except for being called *all boobs" Do your co workers usually talk to each othr like that? I've never experienced that. You must be exhausted. you work very hard being a nurse. Hope you get your needed rest.

Lisa, sorry to hear you son has a staph infection. I hope the anti. will take care of it and no one else gets it. You would have to be very careful after reading what Michelle wrote about her experience with it.

Debbie, you were the brave one... That is something I would never do. I just don't think it is worth it. I've heard of the people are ready to stomp on you to get what they want. Good that you got some things that you wanted.

Cindy, have a wonderful date nite with dh.

I had a wonderful thanksgiving. Ate too much and now plan on making turkey soup tomorrow. I ate so much for 2 days in a row that soup will be
a little lighter on my tummy.

Tomorrow I plan on wrapping Christmas presents and just need to buy a couple more then I am done for my Christmas shopping.

take care of yourself everyone

Not at all. that is the first thing I wanted in the hospital and when I came home. I could live on homemake soups. I make a big batch and freeze them.. They are very good for you. Are you resting up from you last day at work? Hope and pray that you get your strength back to tackle you nursing job. Must be very strenious both phisically and mentally. Nurses are very special, I know because my sister is one and is a very caring person.
