It's snowing pretty good out there. The wind is brutal.

Jan I'm glad you got some sleep. You are so blessed to have such a wonderful family that cares so much for you. I think that is so sweet that your dh brought you a donut in the hospital. Birthdays are fun when the kids are little. I walked with her in class this morning. She was just beaming. All of her classmates were saying happy birthday and her teacher has a plaque hanging that says happy birthday and she got to write her name in the blank. They have a snack time in the morning. They will have her treat then and sing happy birthday. Her teacher was out sick today, so she was a little disappointed, but the principal was subbing today and she really likes him, so it will be good. My kids go to the Lutheran school here in town. All of the kids know each other and every teacher. It is a very caring, nurturing environment. Sloppy Joes sound good. I was going to have sandwiches, but I remembered spaghetti is my DD favorite meal, so I will make it for her birthday supper. I hope you have a good day at work.

Murphmuffin homemade chocolate cake sounds yummy! I got DD cake from the bakery, because she wanted a cake with fancy decorating and I am not good at that. Tikki Masala sounds good. You always have good dishes. You must be a good cook.

Well I better wrap the birthday gift just in case school lets out early because of the snow. Take care everyone.

Hi Ladies

Thanks for all the support...

Well the doctor doesn't think I am depressed he says I have a great attitude and that every once in a while I can feel sorry for myself, he says you have been through a lot and the hormones are still wreaking havoc.
I do not have to see him again until February which is going to be like withdrawl because every week he would make me feel more secure that my recovery was going well. I guess now the radiation therapy team will give me that support.

I am easing up on the no Christmas tree thing, the twins will be here for a sleep over on Friday night and maybe I will have them decorate the tree, can you imagine how 4 1/2 year olds will decorate, it may be cute. I might even suggest we go chop one down, my husband hates to do that but he may relent if the kids ask him to do it. My step daughter said she would take it down if I am not feeling well when it needs to come down.

I am glad I had some good sleep while on vacation because I am back to waking up after 2 hours of sleep and tossing and turning, I guess I need the rocking of a cruise ship to keep me asleep longer. My appetite was back while on vacation too but now it seems to be gone again. I am glad I filled my dessert desires while on vacation, I had dessert souffles 3 times, I cook a lot and bake but have never attempted a souffle. Gee maybe I need a chef, waiter and maid around all the time, wouldn't that be nice!

Hello ladies,

I'm doing pretty well. I've been back at work now for 3 weeks. The first week was really tough on me but it is better now.

I've been dealing with lower back pain for a couple of weeks. Last couple of days have been pretty bad that I've had to take some pain pills to get some relief.

I'm sleeping much better these days...probably because I'm tired...LOL.

Wishing everyone well as we all contiune in our recovery journey. Take care all.

Sukipup I think that is a good idea to let the twins decorate the tree. I let my 7 and 4 yr olds decorate this year. It certainly wasn't perfect, but they were so proud that it didn't matter. I did a few tweaks here and there when they were in bed and they didn't even notice.

I bet your radiaton team will be just as supportive as your dr. I will be thinking of you and keeping you in my prayers during this time.

Quickscrapper glad to hear from you. I'm glad work is going well. Sorry you are having back pain.

Hi Every body!!! Yeah perfect dinner idea!!!! Sloppy joes it is !!! I might even let my 12.5 yr old DD cook it! She has been baking and getting more and more interested in kitchen... hmmmm there is my chef... will any one show interest in the maid position I wonder??? Last night I made chicken and dumplings!

Mrswillie I am so glad work is going well sounds like 1/2 days is perfect!I hope the sleeping gets better with you back at work.. maybe when you are back fulltime you will find your sleep patterns will fall back to "normal" I am getting accustomed to being up at night now..But everytime I find something good to watch on the tv I conk out before it ends.. So now I am thinking to watch movies so I can go back and see the endings at least!
We are looking for rain tonight... tomorrow off and on for the weekend. Snow sounds more fun to this CA girl... Thanks for the sloppy joe idea!!

Hyperhyster yep back to normal huh?? My youngest has minimum day yesterday today and tomorrow so days are going even quicker... It seems like i get a load of laundry done maybe breakfast dishes and it is already time to go do my elementary school pick up. hour later...jr. high... forty minutes later high school... Thank goodness no one is playing sports or having any other after school activities I am just not that "back to normal" in the Energy Department... Its like some forgot to pay my bodies "power bill"

Murphmuffin have you tried cooking roast in the crock pot? I am Oven challenged when it comes to meat... but in the crock pot it just melts in your mouth.. low temp all day.. throw in potatos.. carrots onions..seasonings...It is the easiest thing.. And my kids just devore it so unfortunately there are rarely leftovers...

Suki do not forget us for support! I can't imagine what you are going through but I will support you anyway I can and keep you in my thoughts and prayers daily! I think it would be adorable to watch the 4and 1/2 year olds decorate!! I say YEAH have a tree!

Hey quickscrapper I was having alot of back pain I think it had to do with how I was walking after the surgery and not standing straight.I was kind of walking bent over protecting belly and incision I think.. I have been trying to remember to hold in tummy and stand straight it has relieved some of my back discomfort... Glad work is going good for you..

Happy day to all and to all a goodnight sleep!!! (please)

Well ladies I have decided we are going to put up a tree and let the kids decorate it I can't wait to see what they do. My husband is an angel he told me tonight if I want a real tree we will go get one with the kids, he is really being supportive because he usually whines aobut killing a perfectly beautiful tree in the woods so we can hold it hostage in the house for a few weeks every year, about 4 years ago I broke down and bought an artificial tree and we have been using that but htis year we will go for a fresh cut tre and have the twin grandkids decorate it. I will need to find my old ornaments I wouldn't want them using my Lenox ornaments. I thin kit will be good for me and them to put it up during our Friday night sleepover, they love coming to our house and love it even more when they can sleep over, mind you they only live down the block from us.

I will update you on the tree as soon as its up.

Hi All,

Cindy I hope your DD's birthday went well.

Linda thank you, I think you are right about me knowing the old bod. I know my energy is definitely not back to normal. Tired tonight, and sore again. Long day. Tikki Masala is a dish I am not familiar with but sounds exotic, and I'm sure delicous. I hope your hubby's B day goes well. Personally I love roast beef and potatoes with onions and gravy, I would agree in an instant.

Sas I hope your sloppy joes turned out good. I am not so great at making chicken and dumplings. Are your dumplings the noodle type or the biscuit type? Maybe you could give me some pointers.

Quickscrapper great to hear from you! I am glad to hear you are sleeping, that is wonderful! I am sorry about your back. Maybe a heating pad or hot water bottle would help some?

Suki that is great news about the tree! That sounds like such a fun evening. Your DH sounds so sweet. Don't you worry about the radiation team. I bet they will be every bit as supportive as your docs. And you know we will be here for you 24-7. I know I want to hear all of it, and I plan to be here support you everyday!

I am really ready to lay down, but unfortunately my DH is working and my youngest went on a school bus trip and is going to need to be picked up after. The eta for the bus is 11pm. I really do not feel like going out in the snow, but no other choice.

I will be hoping for some good shut eye when I get back and I will be hoping for the same for all of you wonderful ladies!

Good night and talk to you tomorrow!

Hi everyone!

DD's birthday celebration went great. She is 8 today. She was so excited tonight and that makes it all worth it.

Jan please be careful going out tonight. I hope you don't have to go far. I hope you will be able to fall right asleep when you come home and sleep through the night.

Suki I'm glad you decided to put up the tree. I'll bet you will have a great time with the twins. Your dh is so sweet to agree to get a real tree. It really is alot of fun going to a tree farm. The kid's will love it.

Sas back to normal alright! DS is in basketball and DD is in dance and 4 yr old DS thinks I'm his 24 hr playmate. LOL The days do fly be in between picking up and dropping off kids, chores, errands as I'm sure you know. I never notice how tired I am because I never stop long enough to realize. But when the kids are in bed and I finally have some time to rest it hits me. Fortunately I haven't had trouble sleeping, I pretty much pass out when I hit the pillow. But, I wouldn't change it, because I know one day they will be grown and I will miss all of it.

Wishing good sleep for everyone. Take care.

Good morning!

It is a cold one again this morning. DS had a field trip today and I had to bring him to school at 7:00 this morning. They are going somewhere about 1 1/2 hrs. away. I always get a little nervous when they travel that far. I don't have much planned today. I think I'm going to start making a list for my Christmas shopping. Right now little DS and I are listening to cd's and relaxing.

Jan I'm glad your DD made it home safely and that you were able to get some sleep. I hope you have a nice relaxing weekend. Ham and scalloped potatoes sounds good. We are having chicken caccatori (sp?). My dh came home yesterday afternoon. I was glad to see him. He travels alot with his job.

I hope everyone was able to sleep well. Have a good day.
