Good morning ladies!

Today is my hot lunch day. I will help prepare lunch, but the kids have their dentist appt at noon, so I'll have to leave early. DD has dance tonight. It's so cold, I wish I could crawl back in bed and push the rewind button so it would be Sunday again and I wouldn't have to go out.

Jan we have snow heading our way as well. My DH and DS go to the auto show here every year as well. Be careful today.

I'd better jump in the shower and get my day started. Have a good day everyone.

Hey all...

Cindy... I got to hit the rewind button! No school here! I have had such a lazy week end that I have some serious cleaning to do. I kind of kept up with the laundry so that is not overwhelming... but the floors are horrid and whole lot of clutter. Your pajama party sounds fun.

Suki I am so glad the treatments are over...I am glad you enjoyed your massage... after all you have gone through I think regular massages will be nice for you... your DH sounds sweet to help with the cleaning...I agree with you on staying away from your GK's party! even I do not think I could handle being around that many 5 year olds... They are very cute at that age but in a pack... yikes ! just kidding... I know what you mean about them being little germ carriers... I used to do art classes in the kids classrooms and one year I did kindergarten even though I did not have a kid in there.. I ended up getting fifth disease which in children is a minor childhood illness... but in adults it presents as something awful. I ended up in the ER and was sent to a specialist before they diagnosed me with the human parvo virus...(the medical term) if I am near little ones with snotties and sneezes... I feel bad but I sometimes have flash backs to that illness and I tend to cringe... I can handle colds and flus but that was horrid... my kids got it from me but it is nothing for kids... dr said that usually teachers will end up with it..

Jan... Scary that call.... My DH has done that so many times... he actually has 2 cell phones so now I can call him on other one and tell him hang up other phone! I tend to think the worst.. My DH has also called me on purpose when he and kids are on rides at fairs or disney or knotts. He is borderline evil as I can't stand hearing my girls scream! Even if they love it!be careful in the snow! I am sorry for the loss of your brother... That must have been rough... I lost a brother years ago...it is a hard loss...

Karen you are an inspiration you overcame that without knowing exactly what was wrong... And you just keep on going that is inspirational! You have a wonderful life and family... I no longer go to church either... I am spiritual and have a good relationship with my higher power. I was raised catholic and went to catholic school for 11 and a half years.

Joan I think it is awesome that you and your sisters are so close.. I have 4 sisters and I am not close to any of them anymore...not only are we all in 4 different states... but we are just not close... I only talk to 2 and not so often.

Well I think I am babysitting BF's GD. So i need to babyproof and try to get to store for dinner.. everyone have a great Monday!

Good afternoon ladies.

Every morning I get up lately there is a weather alert on my computer. We are also expecting lots of snow thats ok since I clean on Mondays Most of it is done already. Going to make some veg. soup now.

We finally had my sisters Birthday dinner Sat. night and it was delicious. Chicken roll ups with fetta cheese in the middle with rice pilaf and salad.

Jan that was a funny story about your DH phoning you. When do you expect you new glasses? Jan you should take the Amtrack train to the Oprah show in Chicago, I would love to be able to go.

Cindy I heard you cold weather on the news this morning. WOW We are at -9 windchill and 8 deg and it is sunny. Cindy it sounds like you all volunteer for the lunches at school. How big is the school? We have a Catholic School here that only goes up to 6th grade.

Suki so glad that you had your message and you scheduled another one. Good for you... Having the twins alone was a very good idea and I'm sure they will love it even more being just with you both.

Karen you are amazing. you even cross stitch. I've seen some beautiful things done with cross stitch. could you please explain to me what small bore shooting that your son does? If it is what I think I'd be scared to death to have my son doing that or anyone in the family for that matter. Are there bores when you go tenting?

Lisa glad that you are feeling better. That was good that you could do something outdoors to make you feel better.

Just finished making my vegetable soup. Smells so good.

Sending Blessing and good thoughts to all

Good morning ladies,

Hope everyone is doing well this Monday morning. The weekend was good and not super busy. Saturday afternoon took dd to see the Hannah Montana movie...it was good and very entertaining. Yesterday afternoon met my sisters and went to get dinner. When we got home I made a cinnamon coffee cake...the kitchen smelled yummy!!

Dd has no school today but had a dermatologist appt. Dh took her since he had an appt as well. My dad then picked her up and they went to have breakfast. she called me after they got home.

Joan - my back pain is in my lower back/hip area. It travels down to my buttocks and legs....it is all related to my newest diagnosis of degenerative discs and the 2 discs that aren't aligned. I'm hoping the physical therapy will give me some relief.

Mrswillie - I cant see myself paying that outrageous amount either for the concert. The show on TV is cute. Sometimes dd calls me to site and watch the show with her.

Grateful - well glad that is all over with that lady at work. Will certainly keep your dh in my prayers...hoping something will come through for him.

Suki - glad you went for a massage. I'm sure it felt great!!! I love going for them. I actually had one before the surgery...so I'm long overdue now. Congrats on your weight loss!!

Karen - wow that was a close call....indeed your guardian angel was watching over you. You sure keep yourself quite busy. I'm into scrapbooking and love it.

Lisa - glad you are feeling better. the weather was very nice and pleasant over the weekend. It is supposed to continue through the week.

Well back to work. Have a wonderful day ladies.

joan small bore shooting is at the rifle club and tony has all the right gears for shooting. His uncle allan is the president of the club and adults and children age 10yrs to 100 yrs shoot.
they have a special type of gun so you lie on the floor and shoot at a chart 25 metres ? away. and it's not very loud as i been down a few times to see what it's about. Tony was winner of E grade two years ago and even though he was the only one in his age group he was so happy to win.
My daughter jenny is giving it a go now too and we have bought her a gun too. There is no nonsence allowed down at the club and everything is safe.
we sometimes take the guides and their parents to have a go too.
the local highschool also has a team doing it and one boy has essential tremor and is very good at small bore and clay target shooting.
clay target is when you stand and shoot at a flying clay target. My husband says this boy has worse tremor than me but when he puts his gun up to shoot he is as steady as a rock. I understand this phenomonon because it happens to me when i play tennis, my tremor suddenly is gone.
this boy with tremor is living his life like i have he went to Taupo on saturday for claytarget tournament and won the c grade. all the club from our area were so impressed with him and my hubby put his success in the local paper as it's wonderful to have a sport where a young highschool boy is doing so well, and it's not soccer or rugby.
since my son started small bore he has alot more focus and is doing far better at school with reading and writing. before he started we were told he had a learning disability, we didn't except this and i got tony to write out a story and he showed it to his teacher, she then believed me that he was bored. we still kept having problems though because the teachers were still not getting his attention and thats when his uncle allan asked if tony would like to try rifle shooting(small bore) well we have a new son.
he still hates reading but can sit and read if we give him interesting books.
(books about his love of shooting) .

I think you might be talking about boars (wild pigs) I would not be letting tony chase those and i haven't seen any camping only oppossums and they are quite tame. I have to keep telling the girls to zip up their tents or oppossum will pay a visit and they will scream all night.

lisa great you are back to yourself

mrs willey, keep safe and warm when going out and about in the snow.

I am a catholic too sas4ever, and mum made me finish guides when i was 13 to be confirmed. i wanted to be a ranger, but i guess i had to wait till jenny wanted to start eh and we are doing it together. I could never stop jenny doing something she loves. she wants to be a pippin leader for 5-7yr olds when she is finished at rangers, because she is sad there is no pippin leader and girls want to join.
I am still happy i got confirmed a catholic it's just a pitty it was the same night as guides was when i was 13.

Quick scrapper, i would like to try scrapbooking but haven't got around to trying it even though i bought some books to get started.
jenny and i did a beading course and that got jenny hooked.

anyway must go as i've told john i will have my crosstitch finished by the 14th it's the 12th here today.
karen
p.s. remember this is the crosstitch i started about 4-5yrs ago.

Hi!

I just thought I'd check in quick before I pick up the kids from school. It's been a hectic morning.

Sas Isn't it nice to push that rewind button once in awhile?
My DD got fifths disease last summer. I don't know where she got it since school was out, but luckily the rest of us didn't catch it.

Joan your sisters party sounds like it was fun. The food sounds yummy too! My kid's go to the Lutheran School here. The hot lunch program is ran by volunteers. We have two mom's each day who pick up the food from the public elementary school. We prepare it and serve it and clean up. This is our first year with a hot lunch program and it's working out really well. Our school is small. We have 59 students in grades K-8. Our preschool has about 15 kids.

Scrapper I'm glad your DD had fun at the concert. Cinnamon coffee cake sounds really good. I love when the house is filled with the aroma of good food. I think it's nice that you and your sisters get together.

Karen I'm glad your DS is doing better in school. I hope you are able to get your cross stitch done.

Sas and Scrapper why are your kids off from school today?

I'm off to pick up the kids. I hope you are all enjoying the day.

Karen thanks for the info on bore shooting. That is so funny I thought that it was boar shooting like you said. I have no idea what kind of animals you have there in nz. I think you are so perceptive. The clay target and small bore shooting at the rifle club seems to really help some kids. Thats wonderful that it has helped your son. And about your guardian Angle, I believe in help from our Guardian Angles. I have read wonderful stories about this.

Scrapper Thats wonderful that you can get together with your sisters also. If you are like me and my sisters we always have something to talk about.

Cindy thats a wonderful small school. I think the smaller it is the better schooling your get I think because you get more attention. Thats great too that you all volunteer for lunch.

Hello!!

Slcik and cold on the way home. Happy to say I am in for the evening.

Easy dinner tonight for me and the girls. Barbecued chicken legs, potatoes, and salad. Then we'll probably just hang out for awhile since it is DD's day off and I opted not to go to the mall because the weather is not great.

Cindy we were not off of school here either. I hope your busy day is winding down and that you don't get too much snow.

Sas sorry about your brother. Losing a loved one is always difficult. I hope you had a fun time babysitting. Good thig the house wasn't clean, better to clean after a day of babysitting.

Joan tomorrow will be a week for the glasses so they should be in soon I think. I have known people that have gone to Oprah, but I have never been there myself. Vege soup sounds good. I had broccoli soup for lunch. Stay warm out there!!

Karen I was raised Catholic also. I went to Catholic school for elementary and high school. I went to state university but then back to a Catholic University for grad school. It would seem I should be a fantastic Catholic, but I am not very good about organized religion. Ask me any question and I can pretty much answer it after all those classes but I mostly go the way you do, just my own prayers. I did not do very well with my kids either. I followed it all until confirmation, but then they stress letting them make their own choice, which I did but none of them got confirmed. My youngest DD very involved in church activities, but not the Catholic church she does youth group and other activities at a local bible church. I had vever heard of bore shooting or the fact that shooting helps kids with focus. That is kind of interesting and I am glad he had good luck with it.

Scrapper you have me hungry for coffee cake now! What recipe do you use? I am glad you enjoyed the movie. Sounds like a nice weekend for you. How are you feeling?

Well I am going to get at dinner. Have a great evening ladies.

OK Ladies, I am still catching up with all my e mails etc and I am so tired I can sleep all the time, I guess my body finally said it has had enough, it needs to rest.

I can't believe how many of us went to Catholic school, I did too and like most of you I am not into organized religion, then again I am divorced and remarried so technically the pope doesn't acknowledge my current marriage to bad for him because I recognize it and depending on your particular church's rules some priests say don't worry and others say you are excommunicated from the church, there go those man made rules, I doubt God would truly throw anyone out of his church because they made a mistake by marrying the wrong person .....oh well enough of my soap box, I didn't mean to ramble like that.

You ladies out west are sending your arctic air and snow to NJ, I like the idea of sharing but could we please share something nicer than bad weather!!!

Well I am going to veg out in fron tof the TV now, talk to you tomorrow
