Buttons, don't feel bad, today is day ten for me and because I didn't take any pain meds is why the fog has lifted from my brain. I'm a bit concerned about you bleeding. Stitches dissolve in whatever time period they should but that is because the tissue there should have been healing. If it was infected I would think you would 1) have a fever and 2) be in lots of pain. So, what's up with that I don't know. I think the person who did the surgery has the responsibility to see you asap and not pass you onto your primary doctor. I wish I knew how to help you. You are right in doing NOTHING but laying around healing. We are supposed to do that, as princesses.

I'm feeling normal after a week!

It's a week today since my surgery and I can honestly say I'm back to doing everything normal except lifting anything over 10 lbs. or straining.

I drove to a couple of stores this morning and spent a few hours shopping and it really didn't affect me.

I hope things continue to mend as well as they are! I'm kind of surprised I'm feeling this well so soon. I haven't taken any Motrin today.

I don't plan on over doing it, though. And, I definitely will not lift anything until I am given the go ahead. Don't want to undo what was done!

I went to the dr's today just cus I had a bunch of questions. She believed the nausea, faintness and discomfort can be related to the fact I'm not taking enough pain meds. I was taking on percoset when I woke up and another about 12 hours later. She says to take the second pill about 8 hours after the first so the pain threshold doesn't get too low. She says that will make me feel better. She also gave me an overnight laxative as I'm probably not voiding myself all at once. She says that I'll not be as uncomfortable if I go all at once. Also, I had to ask about sex. My surgeon said I'd be good to go after two weeks but there is no way I can have my partner come near me! I'm just in too much muscle pain to even think about it! I was wondering if that was normal but she just said that internally I'm good to go but until I have the strength, it could give me a setback in the recovery of the abdominal muscles. So, that's the news from up here! I feel pretty good today. I notice a little improvement each day and I had the best night's sleep since I came home from hospital last night!

Talk to you soon!

sex?!??!

Two weeks for sex???
I thought the usual was 4 to 6 weeks.
Having sex would put bacteria in the vaginal canal... don't think ya wanna do that?!?!

Maybe the doc was referring to masterbations! Ha!

slwoly getting there

well its been 2 weeks post op today and i am getting back to my old self slowly, i had a supracervical abdominal hyst on the 1st and they took out right ovary as well. i now have had all 18 staples removed and incision hurts a little more . i am not on pain meds for the hyst but i alsohave firbromyalgia and osteoarthritis so i take muscle relaxants for that and tramadol as needed. i still shuffle ilke an elderly woman at times when i have done too much ,which i have to since i have to move out of my home within 2 weeks.my remaining ovary is still sleepy so now i have to do hrt,not thrilled but i cant take the hot flashes then the chills and the night sweats.i still have like a lump under and to the side of my incision. does anyone else have this? please let me know. forgot to ask dr but will at next checkup.i went back to the hosp and dropped off a thank you present of cookies for the nurses because they were fantastic and took great care of me,they were so appreciative for that gesture that i am glad i did it. they didnt recognize me at first and when they did they were all smiles and said how great i looked. i was a mess when i left, still had pneumonia when i left and low grade fever.i am looking forward to when i can say i am glad i had this done, not there yet. after this i might have to get knees done again to hold off knee replacement surgery. this princess is a mess.hugs to all here and future princesses to come

SEx....the last thing from my mind. I asked my Doc this question prior to surgery and he said not for 4-6 weeks after surgery . Risk for infection and a set back in recovery if you hurt yourself. Keep in mind that the outside might look healed but the inside takes weeks if not months to completely heal. Good Luck what ever you decide...but be careful! In my case my incision looks better daily, yet when they did an ultrasound last week i had some internal bleeding and hematomas. I would have never thought there would be bleeding inside. I'm asssuming they stitched all that up and I'm good to go.....get a second medical opinion.

i was just wondering why they did an ultra sound so soon after your surgery. I don't go back to my dr. until 6 weeks after surger.
