Hi ladies!

I'm trying to tackle some of this house and laundry, and taking care of little ds's needs. I had a sub cover for me for hot lunch today. I felt guilty, but I just couldn't do it today. I won't be able to get groceries until tomorrow. I searched the fridge and cupboards and we have eggs, bisquits and hash browns, so I think we'll have a little breakfast dinner. I may even throw in some pancakes. My kid's are pretty easy going for meals. As long as they eat, they are pretty flexible with whatever it is.

Murph thank you for your kind words. You actually made me tear up a bit. You are very sweet! I am so bad about doing for myself. I know it would be very healthy for me to take a day and pamper myself. I promise I'm going to try to do that soon. I hope you have a good walk with your buddy. That is so nice!

Scrapper I'm glad your dd is feeling better. Good luck at your appt. today.

grateful I hope you'll feel o.k. for your plane ride. Sorry to hear about the trouble. Kids can do or say some awful things and they don't realize the consequences. Shopping is always good therapy. Glad to hear the party went well. Have a good trip to Savannah.

Jan I hope your day at court is going o.k. and you won't have to go back tomorrow.

Have a good day!

this household can't eat chilli especially hot ones.

hubby is off on school trip today with son tony and will be walking arount Mount maunganui and kids swim at pilot bay under the mount.
the Mount is near Tauranga.

greatful me, every year our son seems to do something that needs jumping on, at the end of last year he threw his cricket bat when his sister wanted to stop playing and made her nose bleed. i had to call the ambulance as i thought her nose was broken, son got frustrated because daughter just wants to read all the time. she'll read the same book over and over. we go to the library get heaps of books and she's read them all in a few days, that frustrates me! but hubby says he was like that when he was young, except he was growing up on a farm and outside alot more than jenny.
I am pleased she plays tennis and i can add out doors stuff to her guiding can't i, and the best thing is because i am leader tony our son can come on alot of the out doors stuff too with guides.
we often involve the families of the girls.

I don't know if dd will get to play soccer this year at high school as it looks like they are only having one good team, dd has been playing since 7yrs old. when ds goes to highschool next year he will be wanting to play cricket and soccer, don't know what will happen if they don't have more than one team for him, he'll be devistated. we 'll be trying our best to sort that out.

I love shopping for bargains, and i love buying plants too.
it's a beautiful day here today and it's the first day of autumn on friday, i happy though as we had the best summer in years, in fact i only remember summers like this when i was a child.

i hope those who are feeling a bit sick are now 100% better now.
and take it easy everyone enjoy your day.

Hi ladies!

The bug finally got me! I have a little bit of a head cold that just started this afternoon. I have been sneezing and sneezing AND SNEEZING! I have that kind of tired achy feeling from having a stuffy head. I'm going to get some coldeze in the morning. That works pretty good for me. I got some cleaning done today, but not enough! Tomorrow I have to get groceries. Our cupboards are pretty bare. I ended up ordering pizza tonight, because dd had dance and it was easy and quick. I did get the laundry caught up today. It's going to be an early night for me.

Karen we go to the library all the time. My dd is the same. She gets several chapter books and she usually finishes a chapter book in one night. We are always dropping her books off and getting new ones. But I am happy she likes to read. The field trip sounds nice. I'm sure your dh and ds had a good time.

I'm off for a bit of relaxing and them to bed. I hope you are all having a good night.

Hi All,

Well I am glad to have the day behind me. Testimony went so-so. Judge has not delivered the decision yet, thinks it may take 10 days. My part is over and I am glad of it. I had togo straight to DD's band concert. Stressful day and I am ready for bed. Thank you for the prayers you sent for the students and families at NIU and for me with my testimony.

Murph your day sounded lovely. I hope your walk with your buddy was as pleasurable for you as it sounded to me.

Scrapper I am glad your DD is feeling better. I am sorry she missed her retreat but it was worth it for her to feel better. Your dinners sounded really good.

Grateful I hope you shake this thing soon. I hate to see you away from home and not feeling well. I am sorry about DS's shenanigans. He is at that awful age. I remember awhile back I believe he had an issue at school where you were not too happy with him. Is this incident related to that? I am sure he will receive an appropriate consequense and think twice about his choice. I am glad you will be able to get away and have some time to yourself. I hope when you return you will both have a fresh outlook. Best wishes for a safe and productive trip!

Cindy it was great that you could get someone to cover for you today. I hope you were able to catch up a bit so you won't feel off kilter all week. My family loves breakfast for dinner and your meal would be a big hit around here. especially hash browns. I don't make them often and my kids love them.

Karen I am sorry your surgery site is giving you trouble, but I am glad the doctor thinks it is ok. I hope your kids get the teams they want next year. It sounds to me like they are quite active and if one thing doesn't work out they will quickly find something else they enjoy. I admire you and your DH for all you do with your family.

Joan, Sas, Lisa and Suki I hope you are all having a good day.

Have a nice evening.

good morning!

I am feeling better today. I went to bed early and slept soundly all night. I think that really helped. In fact I overslept and it was a rush to get the kids out the door and on time to school. I have no choice, I have to go for groceries today and make a target run. I don't have anthing going on after I pick the kids up from school, so hopefully I'll be able to take it easy tonight. I basically just feel like I have a cold today. Not so achy as yesterday. DH called yesterday and had to let me know he was taking a walk on the beach. He said it was only about 65, but to us thats nice!

Jan I'm glad you made it through your court date and it's over. What instrument does your dd play?

I have to get ready to go. Have a good day ladies!

Good morning girls,

Jan, glad to hear everything for court is done and over with, I’m sure you did fine. Hope you had a good night sleep after everything that went on.

Gratefulme, I agree with jeans having to be a great fit. I found this website called True Jeans, you input all your measurements and they suggest the best fitting jeans for your size and lifestyle. They suggested a model from Lucky Brand jeans as well as the size I needed. I found a Lucky Brand store in downtown Montreal and the fit and size the website recommended were bang on! Except the model is being discontinued so I got them for 49$ instead of 128$ which is even better than I had initially thought! That fish recipe is excellent, a keeper for me. I found the site for the spices Joan recommended, they moved to http://www.tradewindsspice.com/. I can’t imagine what it is like to deal with teenagers, especially boys, what a job parents have. Hope he learns something from this last weekend!

Scrapper, will be waiting to hear what your back specialist appointment goes. Good for you on finishing your project. Lucky you on that weather forecast, we are getting another 6 inches today and tomorrow. So far this year, we’ve had over 10 feet of snow! Good thing I enjoy a winter sport.

Hyper, so many times, you have been so helpful in cheering me up. If I didn’t let you know then, let me do so right now, thanks for all your support. Good move on getting the sub and happy grocery shopping. I’ve said it before, breakfast is the best meal of the day, anytime. Good to hear your cold has eased up some, but don’t go and overdo it; follow Jan’s advice. Bad timing with your DH being away but, we are here for you!

Karen, I hope the kids get to play whatever sport they like this year, would be a shame if they couldn’t!

I’m just going to do my ironing that I never got to do yesterday and prepare some lunch food as I’m on a 10-day stretch at work starting tomorrow.

Have a good one ladies.

Hello ladies,

Hope your day is going well so far. Work has been ok not to bad...I"m glad because I"m alone today. One of my co-workers is on jury duty and the other is still on her illness leave...she will be back mid-March.

Dd is doing much better. She did well at school yesterday and the good news - not lots of homework she needs to make up. She was surprised too. She will have another opportunity for a retreat when she starts the Confirmation program in the fall.

Karen - sounds like your kids are pretty active. Guides sounds like it is very family oriented. My dd is a reader too. I was just like that as a kid. I remember in the summers going to the library and checking out lots of books.

Hyper - enjoy your "breakfast" dinner. I did that on Sunday evening - had some waffles. Hope your cold doesn't get too bad...rest is the best remedy. Try not to over do it.

Mrswillie - glad that your part of the testimony is over. You sure were on
the go yesterday.

Well my appt with the specialist was very informative but it wasn't good news. My condition is pretty advanced and I have the back of a 60 to 70 year old person. I have several discs that are collapsed and my pain is from discs pressing on nerves. So the next step is an MRI and then I return to see him to discuss those results. We are going to try physical therapy but he thinks I won't get much from that. Then the next step would be injections and surgery. So I'm pretty bummed about my situatuion. I will keep you posted as things progress.

Have a great day ladies and keep warm to those experiencing the snow, cold and rainy weather. Take care.

Hi ladies,

I am feeling sleepy this afternoon. Better day today. I was glad to be back at school!!

Cindy I hope your shopping is done and you are home relaxing as much as you can. My daughter plays the clarinet. We have been going to concerts for many years. Myoldest played the flute. My DS played the oboe, played drums, was in the mens choir, and concert choir. My youngest DD that plays the clarinet is also in concert choir and corporation which is a dance choir. She does a nice job.

Murph I did get a good nights sleep and after a good rest and a debriefing today at the office I realize my testimony came off as the attorney expected, so I think things went better than I first thought. I have never heard of true jeans. I am going to check out the sight.

Scrapper your daughter got good news about that homework. Those makeups can be time consuming so I am glad it worked out. I am sorry to hear the news about your back. Well at least there is a plan you can begin to implement. I hear you saying you are not thrilled with the plan, but I guess the only way to know is to try. I know it is frustrating to have to wait and not be able to do more immediately, but maybe once the MRI is in the doctor will begin the injections or if necessary surgery. Thank you for keeping us posted, because I have definitely been thinking of you.

Well off to get some supper started.

Hi ladies!

I got my errands done. That is at least one thing off of my list. That is all I'm going to worry about for today. I got a movie for me and the kids to watch tonight. We are having grilled cheese and tomato soup for dinner. After dinner I plan on watching the movie and relaxing the rest of the night. Thankfully, I'm not feeling any worse.

Jan I hope you find some time to relax tonight. Your dk's are very musically talented. I think that is great. My dd has expressed to me that she really would like to take piano lessons. I'm considering it, my only hesitation is getting her involved in too many things at once. She already is in dance and Sunbeams. We have a lady at church that gives lessons to several kids. I'm thinking of talking with her to see how often they practice. I know she holds recitals as well.

Scrapper I'm glad your dd is better. Believe me I know how overwhelming late work can be. I'm glad she was lucky not to have much. I'm sorry to hear about your back. I agree with Jan, take it one step at time. You never know the therapy may just work. I will keep you in my prayers.

Murph, once again, you have put a bright spot in my day. Thanks so much for your kind words! If I was able to cheer you up, that makes me so happy! I hope those 10 days of work will go by fast for you. I'm going to check out the true jeans website. You got a great deal on the lucky jeans!

I'd better go start supper. Have a good evening everyone.
