Hi Ladies,

It was a good morning at my house. For once a Monday where everything went according to schedule! I am a supposed to spend the morning here at the office doing paperwork and thn after lunch go and see kids. I very much do not feel like doing paperwork, but it has to get done!!

Cindy you always have such busy Mondays. I bet you will sleep good tonight!

Lisa your house must be beautiful with all those flowers. Do you have a sprinkler system or do you water those all by hand everyday? My Dad and his wife have the most beautifully landscaped yard with tons of flowers and they love to spend hours working on it. I guess the green thumb must skip generation. I wonder if one of my kids will get it? I have my doubts but let's hope so. Good luck to your DS with the intervew!

Well, I better get some work done. I will check back later.

Good morning ladies,

Hope you all enjoyed your weekends. Ours turned out to be nice...just a little busy. Saturday during the day did some cleaning, laundry and the marketing. Dinner was really nice for my sister in law's bday. The BBQ restaurant was really good...very tasty. After dinner we went to their house....nice place that they got. Sunday we went to church, followed by dd's dance class and then met my sisters.

We started packing on Saturday evening. So our livingroom is scattered with luggage, etc. I'm getting really excited now as this is it we leave on Firday. I'm working with dd so that she doesn't forget anything that she really needs.

Today I'm going for my MRI. My appt is at 1:00pm. Then I'm going to go across the street to see if I can get an appt to see my primary doctor this week for my leg. it is still bothering. It's hard with all that we have to do to get ready to leave...I have to take the time to sit and rest. Swelling still there too.

Mrswillie - hope your dh feels better soon. Did he end up going to the doctor? Glad all went well with dd and her play. She sure was busy. Loved your story about gd and the sesame street stuffed toys....they put them right where the kids will see them. Good luck at the eye doctor's. I work for the Los Angeles Unified School District in the administrative offices. I'm an administrative assistant for an assistant superintendent. I've been with the school district for 21 years. I don't get spring break because I'm a year round employee. I use my vacation time for the time I want to take off.

Hyper - sounds like all the acitivities the kids were involved in went well. Hope you enjoyed your dinner outing.

Lisa - You go with all the dinners you're cooking up. Nice to have a short visit from ds. Hope is truck passes the smog check. Your garden is going to look so pretty!! I know what you mean about the gas prices...I just paid $61 to fill my car up...yuck!!!

I suppose I better get back to work...LOL. Have a great day!!

Hi all!

The dance pictures went well. DD looked perty with her hair all fancy. The photographer did a good job with poses. I can't wait until they come back. We had chicken stir fry for dinner.

Jan glad your morning went smoothly. I hope you got all of your paperwork done.

Scrapper It sounds like you had a really nice weekend. We didn't go to our bbq place for dinner Sat. night. We went to a usual place of our instead. But now I've got bbq on my mind, so I'm sure we'll be going their soon. I hope your appt. went well today. Try not to overdo it packing and getting ready for your trip. I know that is a big job. I hope your leg will be good for the trip.

I hope everyone is doing well. Have a good evening ladies!

2007 - Hysterectomy Oct 01, 2007 - Oct 08, 2007

Hi Ladies,

It is rainy and cold here. I was glad when I got home. So was DH. He fixed leftovers for dinner and little GD was giving him a hard time making them both quite crabby. It was nice to feel so needed when I got home. LOL!! Basically, it turns out she did not want leftovers for dinner. A bowl of cereal eaten as she sat on my lap satisified her and she was good until she went to bed. Her speech is not the greatest, and sometimes DH has a difficult time understanding her. I get all of her shorthand because I am with her so often, and maybe it is leftover from mothering 3 of my own.

Well, so far I really like this new doctor. He spent alot of time testing me himself. After he performed his tests we talked about the prescription he recommended and why. Then he looked at my 2 other prescriptions. His was very close to my original prescription that I like very much, just a very slight change in the left eye. He said the prescription I did not like was in his opinion, based on his tests, an overcorrection. We made the agreement that I would try the glasses with his prescription. If I do not like them he will make them to match the prescription I came with that I like for no charge. Seems fair to me. They should be ready in 1-1/2 weeks. He did tell me something the other dr did not. He said he could see cholesterol deposits in ( or on?) my cornea. He said this is common in people over 60 but not people 42. He found it a little concerning. he wants me to go to my family doctor tell him about it and get my cholesterol and blood checked into. I told Dh and he sort of freaked out a little bit because my mom died 8 years ago (she was 58) after having major heart problems for 10 years. So I guess tomorrow I will be scheduling an appt with my GP. It never ends!! maybe they will just check my cholesterol and it won't turn out to be any big deal. well, I will keep you all posted.

Scrapper bbq still sounds yummy. I am glad you had a good weekend. I hope your MRI went ok and you got your appt for your leg. When will you hear something about the MRI? I hope before your trip. LA School district. I imagine that must be huge! The district office here runs the same way 12 month employees. That is great that you can work your vacation to coincide with your daughter's activities. Take care of that leg, especially with all the packing. I would not want it to interfere with your trip.

Cindy I am glad DD's photos went well. I have so much paperwork I won't really be done with it until May, but I did get 6 reports done this morning. Chicken stir fry sounds good too. What kind of sauce do you use?

Well I am going to watch some tv with DH and wind down for bed. Oh, BTW DH was not able to get a dr appt. He is going in the morning.

Enjoy your evening ladies!!

2007 - Hysterectomy Oct 01, 2007 - Oct 08, 2007

Today started out cold, but ended up warming up. Last night I was watching the news and they said that it would be 30 degrees between 3-8AM. I freaked out. I had just finished planting all my flowers and they cannot take the frost. DH and I were out there with sheets covering all that we could up last night. I think I only lost 2 plants. I could not believe that we had freezing temps in March. Good thing I haven't put my thermals away yet
My ds called earlier and he decided to head home tonight instead of in the morning. It takes 3 hours and 15 minutes to get here. I fixed corned beef and cabbage and he is excited to eat once he gets in tonight. I have a batch of brownies in the oven. He loves to come home and eat.
Cindy I'm glad your dd pictures turned out nice.
Jan I hope that your Dr. appt goes well. It's funny how much your eyes can reveal about your health. I'm sure everything will turn out fine.
Scrapper I hope your leg improves before Friday. How exciting to be packing for your trip.
I better go and check on my brownies.
I hope everyone has a great evening.

Good morning!

It snowed overnight. Nothing major, but it's the heavy slushy snow. It's just sloppy and messy out there. I can't wait to put the boots, coats, hats and gloves away. I've been doing a little cleaning. I'm going to have to take a day and just give a good cleaning here soon. I've also been playing with my little guy. He is really getting good at board games and it's so fun to see the sheer joy on his face when he wins. We are have parmesian chicken for supper.

Lisa I hope you have a good visit with ds. I'm so glad you didn't lose alot of your flowers after all the time you've put into them. That does seem unusual for March. Especially where you live. Good you kept your thermals handy! A batch of brownies sounds so good right now. Sometimes I like to put a scoop of vanilla ice cream on top. But to me they are the best warm right out of the oven.

Jan it was rainy and gloomy all last evening. Now it is gloomy and slushy. I'm ready for some sunshine. Isn't it funny how it just takes grandma or mommy to know exactly what a little one wants? It was the same with my DH. He could never figure out what they wanted before their speech developed. I think he would get a little miffed when I could walk in and know exactly what they wanted. It sounds like the eye appt. went well and the dr offered you a good solution. Try not to worry about the cholesterol. But it would be good to have it checked. It could turn out to be just fine! I hope your dh is feeling better and his appt. goes well. For my chicken stir fry, I cheated. I used the create a meal. It comes with sweet and sour sauce. It was good though.

Murph, Joan, Suki, sas, grateful hope all is well with you. I miss you ladies!

I hope everyone has a great day!

Hello ladies,

Hope your day is going well. I'm getting things done at work. I want to leave all my work done before I leave.

Well I had my MRI done yesterday. Wow that is something I don't want to have to repeat. I did pretty well until the end I started feeling anxious. I asked the technician how much longer and he told me 5 minutes so I took some deep breaths and was fine. The specialist will have the results on Friday. I have an appt with him on the 31st. So I won't know anything until then. I had an appt today with my GP for my leg. She says I have bursitis and fluid in my knee. So she drained the fluid and took out 10cc's...the syringe was filled with the fluid. I had 3 needles inserted in my knee...it wasn't too bad after it was numb. She said this should give me some relief and to continue icing it and taking the anti-inflammatory meds.

Hyper - that's great that the dance picture session went well. Your chicken stir fry sounds yummy. I'm trying to do a little packing each night. I don't want to be running around at the last minute.

Mrswillie - I like the way the new eye doctor is communicating with you. That is great he spent a good amount of time with you. Did you schedule an appt with your GP? Let us know how that goes. Yes, our school district is huge...our K-12 student enrollment is 694, 288.

Lisa - yes the nights have been really cold for March. I know I've been pulling the blankets up to my neck. Brownies sure sound good. I agree with Hyper...so yummy with vanilla ice cream

Well ladies have a great evening.

Hi Ladies,

It was nasty weather today. Cool damp, rainy, and foggy. I guess I should not complain too much compared to your slush Cindy!

DH went to the dr and he put him on antibiotics. He is still feeling lousy. The doc thinks he has a sinus infection & the crud.

My tummy has been acting up today. Cramps and frequent trips needed to the bathroom. I can't wait for GD to hit the sack. I will be hitting the couch with a blanket. I never had time to make the dr appt today but I will try tomorrow.

I made sloppy joes, tater tots, and brocolli for dinner. My DH loves sweet and sour. Cindy, I should try that stir fry. I know he would like it. I am keeping my fingers crossed for sunshine for all of us.

Scrapper good thing you went to the GP. I think that will have to help your knee getting rid of all that fluid. Wow you are not kidding about huge! The school district my daughter attends is 1200 kids k-12!!

BTW I have taken a new job. It won't start until August. I will finish my contract with the coop but I am not renewing it. I am going to be the counselor/social worker at the Junior High in my town. One school 5 days a week. Currently I work there with the spec ed kids 2 days a week. The current counselor/soc wker is retiring and they have hired me to fill her place. My coop is going to hire the intern we have to take my place and she will continue to come to the Jr High 2 days a week to do what I do now. I am looking forward to the change next year.

I second what Cindy said: Murph, Joan, Suki, Sas, Grateful hope all is well with you. I miss you ladies!

Enjoy your evening.

i have been busy in the kitchen today, trying to use up some tomatos,
i made a bacon and egg pie for tonights tea and also aplle and blackberry pie fpr pudding. we have so many apples again this year and because i haven't had anamia anymore and munching through apples like last year thought i'd make something with them.
and i made another loaf of bread.
so now i'm all done and it's 3pm now so kids will be home from school soon.
hoping the weather clears up a bit mrs willie and it's always horrible getting stomach cramps.
we have just got over our colds, i think because of the change of weather.
we all got a bit of a cold but were better now.
It is still hot here and although mornings feel like autumn that's about all. I think we are just going to make the most of the last warm days.
jan what happened to your eye, i must have missed that post, hope it's ok.
