Thanks for the well wishes! Still feeling horrible and in pain. *sigh* Dh has cabin fever so I guess it make me want to do too much to keep him happy.

We'll get it figured out some day!

Good morning ladies!

I'm getting ready to leave to work hot lunch. DD was feeling much better this morning and looking forward to meeting the new student. It is gloomy here today and was actually snowing this morning. But thankfully, it's only wet and no accumulation. Some parts of MN got huge amounts of snow this weekend.

Jan I truly believe you are doing the right thing by sticking to your guns with daycare and his visitation. He probably thinks he can bully you into what he wants. When he finds out that isn't going to work, chances are him taking you to court will just be an empty threat. Since he isn't working how does he support himself? Does he pay his child support? If not, that is a big strike against him.
I'm glad to here you are nearly finished with your project.

Calme I'm sorry you're still not feeling well. Hang in there.

Have a great day ladies.

Good morning ladies,

Hope you all enjoyed your weekends. Our weekend was pretty good and not super busy. I was able to sit and catch up on some shows with dd. We did some cleaning, laundry, and marketing. Yesterday dd and I went out to the mall. She has been wanting her ears re-pierced so she got them done yesterday. She is really pleased with how they look. We also got her some hairbands and a pearl necklace and bracelet for her dresses for the wedding we have next month and for her graduation. The last stop was shoes...it was our lucky day because we found some cute white ones that she liked. Late afternoon got together with my sisters for dinner.

I have to leave work 30 minutes early for dd's orthodontist appt today. Then this evening I have a meeting at the high school to talk about summer school.

Lisa - we're going to see Celine Dion too at the end of November. I'm really looking forward to her concert. That is really nice that you got to sleep in over the weekend. My thoughts & prayers are headed your way for your nephew & sister. Hoping that their next appt will provide them with the next steps.

Hyper - glad to hear that the girls had a good time at Wacky Bear. Nice that they got discount cards for the year...pretty cool. it's too bad that dd wasn't feeling very well. glad to hear that she is feeling better.

mrswillie - sorry to hear gd is still under the weather...hope the bug is in the final phase and that she is back to her self. How old will she be? Sounds like you made some good progress on your project...soon it will be behind you. Hang in there I know you have lots going on in your life right now with gd's dad situation. He really doesn't know what is best for her. Keeping you in my thoughts & prayers.

Time for me to get back to work. Have a great day.

Hi ladies,

Well to the work question. GD was born in April 2006. In June we went to court for support. Interestingly he got "laid off" 2 weeks before court. He got a surprise when they garnished support from his unemployement. he sat out of work through the full course of unemployment plus the extension. He worked during that summer roofing for cash, but did not report the income or pay support. Last fall he got another job and got fired shortly after. That is what he paid taxes on. The only child support we have gotten since his unemployment ran out was garnished from his taxes. We have recieved 2 checks for $59. He does not feel he needs to pay support because he provides everything she needs when she is with him. he thinks we waste the money. He thinks if hshe needs more support from him than she should just stay with him. So he says. What a joke we wast teh money! That little measly check is a mere pittance of what it costs to support her. As far as how he supports himself, we can not really say. I have my suspicions and they are illegal, but there is nothing I can prove. He is doing something because his lifestyle has not changed one bit. These are the things i wish courts would look into, but no one seems to care.

Cindy I am glad DD is feeling better. I am glad you did not get that snow! I wish it would quit already. I hope hot lunch went well.

Scrapper sure sounds like you had a fun shopping trip with DD! I love those days. I think it is so neat that you are going to see celine Dion just like Lisa. I hope you both have a great time.

Well, I did not plan well so now I have to scramble and put together a dinner. I'll write more later.

Evening all. Just getting caught up on the posts.

Jan-okay, I am between mad and tears on your situation. How tough it must be for you. Really sending you a big hug. I agree with Cindy that people just do stuff to hurt other people. I doubt he would have one clue how to support GD if it came down to it. I agree with you, he needs to go. I think it's funny that he goes goes on the internet and think that makes him a good parent and it doesn't. All I can say is don't get me started. My DS's dad is not even worth me spending any energy on. It's just a shame though it really is. You be encouraged that you are doing the right thing and by all means, go to court. You are doing a great job, just lean on your support system and stay strong. I hope little GD is feeling better, she sounds like a sweetie and she really does need you. Day care is the right thing for socialization.

Calme-sorry you are still having issues. Hopefully they will get you to feeling better. Try to get some rest and not overdo it.

Quick-sounds like you had a great trip, I know it was good to get away. Sorry your knee is still bothering you, the fluid draining and injection sounds OUCH to me! How good your DD got her ears pierced.

Cindy- Congratulations on your DD winning the derby. Wacky bear sounds really fun. I have a teddy bear named bradley that I love very much. He still sleeps with me. DH #1 hated him. DH #2 tolerates him and even puts him back on the bed when he is finished making it up.

lisa- hope you're feeling much better by now. I will be praying for Andrew and his diagnosis. I will be thinking good thoughts for him on May 7. Celine Dion sounds like a lot of fun. I heard her show in Vegas was excellent. You will have such a good time.

well, the headaches are gone for the most part which is good. The beta blocker she put me on keeps me awake though. You're supposed to take at night but I switched to day but it still doesn't let me rest very well. Someone asked if the doc thought it was my BP but she really didn't know, she just said we should try this for 2 weeks. I go back next Monday.

I worked in my yard all day yesterday and every part of my body is sore. I forgot how back-breaking yard work can be! I am proud of the way it looks though. I still need a few more flowers. Some of the bushes came back pretty but I like a nice mixture. I bought all red and DH was like, you need some purple and yellow. I'm like huh? Those colors don't match! He was like you don't 'match' flowers, I'm like I DO!!! LOL.

DS and I are home alone tonight, so I made his favorite, pan seared tilapia, sauteed spinach and cheesy potatoes. Now I'm off to watch the NCAA championship! Rest well!

Hi ladies,

My hot lunch day went well. DD had dance tonight. I made the pork chops I was going to make last night. Pretty quiet evening. I'm going to read for a little while before bed.

Jan the courts would laugh him right out the door with his employment and child support record. Like I said earlier, you are doing the right thing in not giving in to him. Stay strong and don't let him have his way, because it sounds to me that no court would either. I know it is very stressful, but you are doing a good thing for your gd. I'll keep you and your family in my prayers.

scrapper it sounds like you and dd had a good shopping trip. I'm glad your were lucky to find the things she needed. Are you and dd going to the concert. You and Lisa will probably see each other and won't even know it! LOL How great would it be if you had tickets next to each other. Hope everything went well with dd's ortho appt.

Grateful I'm glad your headache is gone. Good move on switching the blocker to daytime. It's not fun losing sleep. It sounds like you have a nice yard. I would have to have my flowers match too!

I hope you are all enjoying your evening.

Hello,

Well I forgot when I was at the store awhile back I had bought some frozen spinach and cheese stuffed ravioli at the store. I boiled that with some jar sauce and we had that for dinner. Gd threw up again at about 4:00. I called the doctor and DH and DD are taking her at 11 tomorrow. I know he is going to say it is viral, but it is just lasting too long for my comfort so I want it checked out. Plus, I am thinking maybe this will get her better, because it often seems like when I get my kids into the dr or dentist, suddenly they get better.

Grateful it was good to hear that your headache is finally all better. I would have switched the pill too. That not sleeping is the pits for sure. I will be interested to hear what the doc says in 2 weeks. Your DS sure has a refined palate for a teen! My DH loves tilapia, he would love that meal.

You ladies all sound like you have such beautiful yards. I am so lazy when it comes to yard work, but you all are making me think I might have to plant at least a few flowers this year. I should for sure to celebrate after this nasty winter.

Cindy I am glad your lunch went well. Pork chops sound great. I hope you had your chance to relax before bed.

Thank all you ladies for your wonderful support in this stressful time. You truly are like family, and I am so glad to have found this site and to be able to count on all of you for support and advice. I hope I can be such a help to you all some day.

Enjoy your evening and sleep well.

Hi ladies!

I had to wait for our cable co. to come out. We have our internet through our cable co. Our internet went down yesterday afternoon. It didn't come until I posted last night and then went down again. It turns out the box outside had some wires that were not connected properly. So, now we're up and running again. I had to go to the bathroom so badly while I was waiting, but I didn't want to be on the toilet if he came. Well I couldn't wait, so as I'm sitting on the throne, of course the doorbell rings. I'm trying to hurry up and get downstairs before he leaves. Then he calls, and I had to tell him I'm in the bathroom, I'll be right there
I'm not sure what I'm making for dinner yet. DH has a school board meeting tonight and won't be home for dinner, so I'm might do something simple.

Jan I think you made the right decision making an appt. for gd. You are right, as soon as I get the kids in to the dr, they are already feeling better. I hope this stinking bug leaves her and she will be feeling better once and for all.

I hope you ladies have a nice day.

Morning ladies...I'm vowing to stay updated on the posts more!

Jan- sorry to hear GD is still not feeling well. A trip to the doctor will take care of it all. That would happen to me when DS was little, I'd wait and wait then take him and he is better. For a $20 copay it was worth it at the time.
Yes, my DS has quite a palate. DH got him turned that way. I think he could've done w/o the spinach but that's actually what I like, so he eats it as well. In my house, everyone has to eat what's cooked, period. I'm sure they dislike me most days but hey, they'll be okay.

Funny story-I got up at 3:45 this morning with the mother of all hot flashes. I finally stripped off all my clothes and went and stood in front of the freezer with the door open. Just as I'm about to cool off, a big package of frozen ribs falls on my foot. DH was already awake making coffee and so he was staring at me in amazement then the ribs fell and he said I did the naked scream dance! What a way to start the day. Naturally, couldn't go back to sleep after that...

Cindy- funny about being in the bathroom, isn't that how it always works? At least he waited for you!

Well, it's 11:02 and I have an 11:00 hair appointment, guess I'll be a little late huh?? LOL Have a great rest of the afternoon!

Hi Ladies,

Well GD went to the doctor. What a surprise, he said it is a virus! He claims she is doing fine, is not dehydrated, and to keep doing what we are doing to keep her hydrated. he said this may possibly last the rest of the week. So far she has not thrown up today, but she is still really tired. I hope she has stopped throwing up, but we'll see.

Cindy what timing! That does seem to be how it goes we wait and wait and then they show up at the most inconvenient time. I am glad he waited and everything got fixed. What is your weather like? It is raining and 40 here.

Grateful that was such a funny story! I know just how that feels to want to stand in front of the freezer. Too many people in this house to get away with that! I hope your foot is ok. Sounds you trained your boys right. All mine are spoiled. Your son inspired us and we had baked tilapia, beans, and parmesan noodles for dinner tonight. DH loved it.

Well, I should be working on my project but I am kind of tired so I don't know if I will get to it. I am off to sit with GD. Have a great evening!
