I woke up tired today. I hope I am not going back to how things were before. Everything seems to be fine. My meds are the same and I did get to go out for lunch with mom. That was nice. Tommorrow I get to drive and go to meeting and see friends. Have a great day friends.

I just got a call from my from the nurse and she said she could not find any report but she said she would look in one more place....she found it and told me everything was ok... boy, do they know how much we worry about this??? I am really happy now that I know. take care everyone

Hey there other Princess,
I had been feeling good then ok then not so good, but i noticed that the days i try to do just normal things like a Doctor appointment or just an hour walk...when i get home i feel much discomfort and end up having to take my Ibuprofen and knock out for a few hours. I have driven local twice already. I still can only sleep with pain meds, my pillows and on my left side.
Tomorrow is my post op appointment i pray they have the final report. Just had my hemoglobin re checked at discharge was 8.6 now it's 9.1. My hematologist says to wait about 6-9 weeks before we panic. I still receive Iron infusions every 3 weeks and b-12 shots and will continue for another 6 months if not more. Maybe that is why i feel so tired and weak. Will mention this to Doc tomorrow. My swelly belly is "hanging in there". Another thing i noticed is when i do things such as the above ...my stomach gets even bigger. Anyone else this happens to?? Oh yeah another thing...i have gained weight but i guess it's from not doing enough. I also had thyroid cancer and had a total thyroidectomy on 4/12 so thati 'm sure contributes to the tiredness. Not clear on amything right now. Missing too many original parts to determine what is "normal". Help need some cheering and advice!

I'm happy that you got good results. The waiting is the hardest part. I got my pathology report yesterday and it was good news also

Good Morning Ladies!

Can I ask if any other women who had an abdominal hysterectomy are experiencing as much trouble walking as I am? I am reading all about you lucky ladies who are up and about and going for walks and out for lunch! But I can still hardly move! I do feel an improvement each day, but I can't even take a full stride! I have tried to do a couple of little outings but I can't walk without looking like an old woman. My steps are very small. And, my insides feel like they are sloshing around when I walk and I have immense pressure in my belly!

I ordered that belly band thing from the website. I live in Canada so I'm hoping it will get here next week.

Am I alone? Can anyone give me any advice on how to get around without the total discomfort? Is this normal? AAAAAAAAH!

I know how you feel to some extent. I too feel my belly needs some holding on to. I didn't buy the belt but did purchase just regular support underwear in a larger size so it wouldn't constrict. I can walk but not for long periods. I try to do somethings just like Doctor appointments and when i get home i'm exhausted. We are all individuals and heal at different points. Call your Doctors office if it's something that is really bothering you. They'd be the ones with the right answer. Aren't you glad this site exist? I am so glad it was recommended by a friend. It has hekped me out a great deal.

Betsy! Thank God I heard from you! That's what I'm talking about. I can walk into the dr's office or get up and down stairs slowly, but afterwards, I have to have a rest! I can't even walk around the grocery store yet! I did have a dr's appointment this Monday and they said I was recovering very well, but I just feel immobilized! I don't walk...I kind of shuffle.

Maybe I can find some of those control panties you are talking about. Maybe they'll help until the belly band arrives.

Thanks Betsy! I thought I was going mad!

Hi everybody,
I had a TAH on Oct 5th 2007 due to fibroids, been back home since the 7th and recovering well. I was nauseous from the pain meds I got in the recovery room, so now I fear them (throwing up is no fun). The pain, for me, is quite manageable, so I don't really take anything, except Tylenol from time to time. I don't like watching TV, so I spend my time reading, napping, going for short walks and the INTERNET! Glad to have found you, looking forward to reading your posts.
