Hi Ladies,

We shampooed our carpets. Our hot/humid weather is back and we turned on the AC last night. GD has been a good mood and I am as well because ODD got that job I asked you to keep your fingers crossed about!! She starts training this afternoon. The hours are good so I really hope it works out for her. I have been having a nasty headache, so I have been mostly hanging out around the house. I took some different meds ta bit ago so I hope they help. I am making chicken quesadillas and rice for dinner tonight.

Scrapper I was glad to hear from you. I am sorry you are still having so much pain. I hope you have had some relief now.

Lisa that is great news about Matthew!! I hope he enjoys it. I am glad to hear you are relaxing.

Cindy I am glad BDS did so well. I bet he is going to have a great school year. You sure have been busy. Almsot as busy as during school!

Stay cool ladies.

Hi ladies,

It has been pretty quiet at work even the phones are cooperating. I'm just working on cleaning/organzing things.

Tonight after my work out I'm going to the mall to finish buying my niece's bday gift. Her bday is tomorrow with her bday party on Saturday..she's going to be 7.

Next Thursday is dd's last day of summer school. Then she can sleep in and just relax. Last night we were talking about what we are going to do for vacation. Looks like we are going to be heading to San Diego. Just have to figure out the dates.

Lisa - congrats to Matthew on his teaching job....how exciting!!!

Hyper - you are busy with the kids activities. So glad that BDS did well in summer school. He must feel great about it.

Dd pulled out the air mattress we have and set it up in the living room a couple days ago. She relaxes there and watches TV. Last night she fell asleep on it and our 2 dogs were asleep on the floor next to the mattress. I thought that was cute...like they were protecting her.

Well back to work...I'm kind of lazy. I was so sleepy this morning...didn't want to get up.

Have a wonderful day ladies...and keep cool.

This is turning out to be a slow week at work for me I only worked for an hour this morning and then I took the rest of the day off. I now have my last load of laundry in the dryer and then I'm done for the night. The hamper is empty I just came in from mowing the yards and the weather cooled off a bit today, so it wasn't that hot out there. Even though I just did the backyard a few days ago, I still got a lot of grass mowed. I will be glad when it stops growing so fast.

Cindy congratulations to you bds on finishing summer school. It's great that he did so well with it.

Jan congratulations to your ODD. I hope she enjoys the new job. It sounds like you were busy with your carpet cleaning. I hope your headache eases up and goes away.

Scrapper I bet your dd is glad that her summer school is almost over. What plans do you have while in San Diego? We were there a year ago April. We were on a 4 night cruise and spent one day there. The weather is perfect there.

Tonight everyone is just having what they want for dinner. I think Andrew is having leftover enchiladas. I'm going to fix a roast beef sandwich and I'm not sure what dh choice will be. I'm just not in the mood to cook.

Matthew called today and he has an orientation on Friday morning. He said he'll be coming back home on Thursday afternoon and then will head back to SLO on Friday afternoon. A short visit, but he'll be back for good in a couple of weeks. He will be loading his truck with whatever he can to bring back. So far he has brought back his dining set and coffee table. Luckily our neighbors don't use their garage and have let him put whatever he wants in there. I'm hoping he can get most of his stuff moved before the end of July. We will go there after our camping trip and help him get whatever is still there. It seems like we just moved him there. I can't believe it's been 2 years.

I hope everyone has a great evening

Hi ladies,

Hope everyone's day is going well. Today work has been busy. My boss is away at press conference being held at one of our high schools. They are releasing the Dropout Statistics. So we've been busy with that.

Dd baked a cake yesterday when she got home from summer school. It was yellow cake with chocolate frosting....Pillsbury sugar free mix. It came out very yummy. So that was our dessert. For dinner we had chicken breasts with lemon juice & lemon pepper seasoning along with steamed veggies, white rice and garlic toast.

Had to take dd in to the orthodontist again yesterday. She had her regular appt on Monday. She was complaining about some wires poking and rubbing on the side of her tongue. Anyway, they fixed the problem.

Lisa - nice that you are having some "off" time from work. It is so nice to be caught up with laundry. So is Matthew's teaching job is back at home? In San Diego we will probably go to Sea World (we have some complimentary tickets), go to the beach, and perhaps visit my cousins that live there.

Mrswillie - congrats to ODD on getting the job. Hope she likes it. Did the meds help with your headache?

Got to get back to work. Have a great evening.

Hi Ladies,

Very warm here today. I have mostly been lazing around in the AC. DH is coming home in a little bit and we are going out for dinner. MY DS had his new computer for college delivered today. It was my duty to wait for it. Would you believe they came when I was in the shower! Luckily DH called fed Ex and they came back a bit after 3. He just came home and opened it up. He has been waiting for it, he would have been really disappointed if I would have missed the delivery.

Scrapper and Lisa so far ODD seems ok with the job, but I guess time will tell. The meds did help with the headache. Much better now. Yellow cake with chocolate frosting is one of my DH's absolute favorites. It sounds really good.

Have a great evening!

Another easy day today I could get used to this. I know when my new store opens on the 27th, these days will be history. I'll enjoy them while I can. I even sat down for about 45 minutes today and watched TV.

Tonight I am going to a meeting with my sister. It's about our local cemetary. It's a long story, but my sister goes to the meetings and I just tag along to keep her company. Her BIL was buried there last year, so she has a personal involvement in seeing that things get corrected there.

We are having the leftover enchiladas before I leave for the meeting.

The weather has cooled off a bit here. I opened the house up last night and it felt so good.

Scrapper I love yellow cake with chocolate frosting. Yummy! Matthew will be teaching about 10 minutes from here. His new apartment is about another 15 minutes further. I'm sure he will be hanging out around here quite often. Especially on laundry day. He was talking last night and said that my new store is in the same town he will be teaching in, so I'll have to go by his classroom on my way home. Your dinner last night sounds really good.

Jan I'm glad the fed ex guy came back. Isn't that how it always goes? The minute you're not available they show up.

I need to go and get a few things done around here before the meeting. I hope everyone has a great evening.

Hi ladies

DD had tennis this morning. We went to the pool this afternoon. We had leftovers for supper. I'm getting ready for bath and bed patrol. I received an email from my grocery delivery service yesterday, that after 9 years of service they are going out of business. What a shock. I'm so sad. When the kids were smaller I used that service every week and I still use it quite often. We've had the same delivery guy for the past 3 years. He is a young guy and just a sweetheart. I feel so bad for him and all of the other employees who will be losing their jobs and on such short notice. Well guess I'll have to do grocery shopping from now on. I'm hoping for a relaxing evening and an early bedtime.

Lisa I'm glad you've been able to enjoy some easy relaxing days. That is going to be so nice for Matthew living so close and his work being so close to home. You'll definitely have to stop by his classroom.

Scrapper I'm glad your DD will be done with her summer school soon and enjoy the rest of her summer. Your vacation sounds nice. Maybe you will be able to email us a pic like Lisa did. Your dd's cake sounds great.

Jan I'm glad your ODD got the job. I hope it works out for her. I'm glad the fed-ex guy came back. That always happens to me. It's been really warm and humid here too. They keep saying we're going to get storms but so far none. I hope you have a nice dinner out with DH.

I hope you are all enjoying your evening.

Hi All,

DH and i did have a nice evening. We went out and had burgers and fries. Then we came home and sat on our porch glider until GD came home. Her mom gave her a bath and then I put her to bed. We watched a little tv and then we went to bed since DH had to work today. Today I am going to head out to the grocery store and then come home and do laundry. School is starting to feel closer. The only thing I miss when I go back is sleeping in, (it is always really hard for me to get used to that 5:30 wake up again) and that my house and laundry are almost never in good order during the school year. If I could straighten all that out things would be great. DH thinks the whole/house laundry thing will straighten out when the kids are gone. To me that feels as if it will never happen, but my DH does not agree. He wants to make a rule that they all have no choice but to be out on there own by 25, he says that is plenty old enough to figure it out whether they like it or not. I say we'll see.

Lisa this will be a good week for you. I hope the cemetary meeting went ok. Stopping off at matthew's class will be fun for you! When and where are you going camping?

Cindy that is too bad about the delivery service. I bet it is this economy/recession. Things are getting bad all over. I sure hope the elections help all this because things are not looking good. I wnet and took GD to school this morning and it is already hot and humid. It is going to be a warm one today.

Have a great day ladies!!

Hello ladies,

Well I have about 15 minutes left before my work day ends.

I'm celebrating dd's 15th bday in January with a quinceanera. It is a hispanic tradition. We didnt' have one and she will be the first to have one in the immediate family. So today at 5pm we have a meeting at the reception site to go over the details and finalize the menu. We started looking at dresses online last night and she found 2 styles that she liked.

Tomorrow I'm going to go throuhg my files and see what I can get rid of. If it is older than 5 years, I can toss it. I hope that allows me to gain some space in my file cabinets.

Mrswillie - that's the way to do it - lazing around in the AC!! Glad you enjoyed dinner out...burgers and fries...yummy. That happens when you are waiting for a delivery - they come when you go run and try to do something. I agree it is always harder to manage "home stuff" with work. Take advantage of sleeping in while you can.

Lisa - like you said enjoy your "slow" days while they last. that's nice that you will get to pop in and see Matthew's classroom.

Last night I was out watering around 8:30pm and it felt so nice to be outside...nice and cool. I think tonight when we get back home we will take the dogs out for a walk.

Well almost time for me to go. Have a great evening.

Hi all

Our storm did make it in this morning. I took dd to tennis, but they ended early when the lightning started. As soon we got home it started pouring. The humidity is gone for the time being. Today was dd's last day of tennis. Tomorrow is supposed to be a nice day. I'm going grocery shopping and target. We had chicken marinated in zesty italian dressing, green beans, baked sour cream and onion potatoes and texas toast.

Jan I'm glad you and dh had a nice time out. I feel like you. I don't think I'll every totally have a clean and organized house. Since my kids are still young, by the time they are grown and on their own, I'll be to old to keep it up! LOL Maybe they'll come and clean for me.....or not! The reasons for the company going out of business was fuel prices and the economy. I too hope the elections will help.

Scrapper what kind of party is a quinceanera? It sounds like fun. I'm glad you are getting cool weather.

I hope you all have a great evening.
