2007 - Hysterectomy Oct 01, 2007 - Oct 08, 2007

Hi everyone,

Well I did get through some of the closets. I have until Wednesday evening to bring the stuff to church so I'll do a little more here and there. We had a really nice relaxing day. BDS let LDS come into his room when his friends were here. So, DD asked me if her and I could do makeovers. We had alot of fun doing each other's hair and make up. I let her put make up on just for play. We had spaghetti for dinner then watched some t.v. this evening.

Lisa I'm so happy you had a weekend to relax. You need to do that once in awhile. Your dinner sounds great. Save a brownie for me!

Jan I'm glad you were able to get alot of rest this weekend. It sounds like you had a nice relaxing weekend.

Sas I'm sorry, but I'm not coming to clean your closets. LOL I hate it! But this is a good opportunity for me to have something good to do with the clothes that don't fit and stuff we don't need or use. I hope YDD is feeling better.

DH just told me our principal just called. The sewers are backed up at school so they are cancelling school tomorrow. Tomorrow would have been my first day back working hot lunch. The kids will be surprised in the morning.

Sleep well ladies!

Hi ladies,

I'm sorry I've been missing for awhile...I have been so busy with work...acutally overwhelmed!!! My boss retired on aug. 29th and after the Labor Day holiday my new boss took over. She is very nice but it is overwhelming for her. I told her that we will just have to take things one day at a time.

Dd is doing well so far with high school. She is pleased with her classes and teachers. She is staying on top of her homework and is very organized...I guess my talk with her worked!!! She also started back with church choir on Thursday evenings. In about 2 weeks she will start her classes for Confirmation preparation. So she is busy.

We got her biopsy results from her oral surgery and everything is fine...cameback clean...what a relief.

We are still having hot weather....ready for it to start cooling off.

Today I have an appt. with the orthopedic specialist....I will give him an update since my last visit and my last injection. They didn't work for me. I think this time around he was going to refer me to a spine specialist. I'll keep you posted.

I hope things are well...I haven't had a chance to read through the posts. I just wanted to post and let you know what was going on.

Take care and have a good day.

busy weekend

Sorry I didn't have a chance to get on the board this weekend and post. I worked on Saturday most of the shift, starting at 7 am. Sunday, I had time to go to church w/my friend and her family, and then the hospital called me to have me come in and work. This was my first opportunity to work since hurting my back. I felt good going in, but by the end of the shift, I was hurting pretty bad. I got a good tissue massage at physical therapy today, so I'm a little happier.
I relapsed on Saturday, having 59 days of no eating disorder behavior. I have to start over now. I hate my weight and don't want to start over until I get down to a comfortable weight. Maybe in a week that will be the case.
My boys are liking school and have found a good system for getting all that needs to be done. My older boy played his first football game as quarterback on Saturday and played very well. Yippee! I missed it, but don't plan on missing too many more. Soccer begins tomorrow eve for the younger son, and he needs new cleats PRONTO. Guess I'll be shoe shopping today.
I don't have to deal w/dinner tonight as my dh is working a 12 hour shift. The kids are happy w/simple ala carte type dinners. Yay for me! I'll be eating celery and carrots I imagine.
Glad you ladies had nice weekends. The weather is perfect right now and I'm loving it. Talk to you tomorrow after reading your posts, Michelle

2007 - Hysterectomy Oct 01, 2007 - Oct 08, 2007

Hi Ladies,

We have had rain all day and a cold front came through with it. We are all in pants and jackets around here. It is supposed to be in the 40's tonight. I should correct myself and say I was in pants and a jacket earlier. I am now in my jammies and fuzzy winter slippers. It is supposed to stay cool through tomorrow and then return to the 70's on Wednesday. We are getting into that time of year in the midwest where it is impossible to dress because we keep switching seasons, lol. After work I went to the rec center and then picked up gd. We had pot roast for dinner. Then I gave gd a bath put her in her jammies and got in my own. Now I plan on making my lunch for tomorrwo and then relaxing for the rest of the evening. DH is watching football and ydd is baking brownies.

Cindy I hope you and the kids enjoyed your bonus day.

Scrapper I am sorry that your back is still so painful. I hope you get that referral this time. I am glad your DD is doing so well at school. She is a busy bee, but she will do just fine if she keeps up the way she has been going.

Michelle I am sorry about your back injury. Sounds like you will busy running after the kiddos and their sports. I hope you remember to take care of yourself. Does the 12 step program you're involved in use sponsors? If you have one you might at least think about giving them a call. Happy shoe hunting. You never know in between the cleats you might just see something that calls your name.

Have a great evening ladies.

2007 - Hysterectomy Oct 01, 2007 - Oct 08, 2007

Good morning ladies,

Yesterday was pretty quiet. The kid's and I played a few games and just hung out. Last night DD had her first dance practice for the year. She was excited, three of her friends in her class are in dance this year. My washing machine broke down yesterday. They are having a new one delivered on Wednesday or Thursday. Even though it will just be a few days, my laundry will be so backed up by the time I get it. We had bbq pulled pork for supper last night. I haven't decided yet on supper tonight. I haven't done anymore cleaning out closets yet. I'm going to try to get to it today. Well I need to wake up the kids for school soon.

Scrapper it's good to hear from you. We missed you. I'm so glad that your dd's biopsy came back clear. That is awesome that she is doing well in school. My BDS has been doing well. He has been staying on top of his homework. I hope he keeps it up. This past weekend he did his homework right away on Friday and didn't have to worry about it all weekend. In the past he would put it off until Sunday evening. I think he realized how nice it is to get it done and not have to worry about it. Good luck with your appt. Let us know how it went.

Michelle you had a busy weekend with work. I'm glad to hear your boys are doing well in school. Good luck shoe shopping. I'm sorry to hear you had a relapse. I think Jan's idea of a sponsor, if you have one is a good idea.

Jan you are so right about not knowing how to dress right now. It's downright cold in the morning and sometimes it warms up nice and sometimes not. I never know how to tell the kids to dress for school. Pot roast sounds good, especially this time of year. I'm thinking I should make one soon.

I hope you all have a great day.

Tuesday

Good morning ladies! Yesterday I had a little bit of a reprieve w/sports. My fb player has no practice MOnday, and my soccer player doesn't start until tonight. Hubby worked late, so dinner was a piece of cake (not literally!) ha ha.
Jan, you're a lady after my own heart w/pj's and slippers. This time last year I was buying new pj's and special fuzzy slippers for my hyster. Someone on the board had mentioned bunny slippers at Target, and my Target didn't get them for about a month after my first search. I got them though, and everyone LOVED them. Our temp changes drastically from am to pm. We are starting to get frosts overnight, so it's jackets in the morning, shorts at midday, and pj's after that!

Scrapper, I can't imagine what YOUR back pain must be. My dh needed surgery for a herniated disc, so I'm thinking you may be having similar pain? Is this your daughter's FIRST year of high school? I just sent my son to jr high, and I'm a little scared about it. Are you a little nervous?

Cindy, congrats on getting a new washer, that's exciting. I relate to the "getting backed up" on the laundry. Make everyone help fold and sort the prewash stuff. Laundry is one of those chores I don't mind. I feel so happy when a stained garment goes in yucky and comes out perfect. I guess I have to get my affirmation from strange things, aye?

I'm starting my moral reconation therapy this morning. It's like cognitive behavior therapy, but a little different. I have to go take it at this church that serves the incarcerated. The ladies I'll be with are in a recovery ranch for law violations related to drug or alcohol abuse. Luckily, my friend is going w/me. I'm dealing w/eating disorder addiction, she's working on codependent behavior w/her son and spouse. We're both scared, but wanting change in our lives. Tonight, I will go to my 12 step recovery meeting. My sponsor will be there. She knows about my relapse, and all of it. Not much she can do for me right now. I am starting to lose some of this awful weight, so my anxiety is coming down a little bit. I don't want to weigh 82 again, maybe 89 or 90 pounds will be ok. 96 sends me to another world of craziness. I know it sounds insane that 5 or 6 pounds makes that much difference, but to me, it's a huge difference. I'm eating watermelon and celery today: that's it. I'm a nurse, so know that I know the physio of the body, and what starving does, etc.
Hope you all have a terrific day. Don't forget to stop and smell the roses. I happen to have a rose bush in the back yard that put out these pink and yellow roses. Pink on the edges of the petals, and yellow on the rest. I pick one every other day to bring in so I can see it and smell it often.

Good morning ladies,

I saw the orthopedic specialist yesterday and he is referring me to a spine surgeon. He is sending his notes to my primary doctor and my primary will submit the authorization. I also have an appt on Monday for a bone density test. So we'll see how things go.

Weather is cooler this morning. We have cooled off to the high 80's from 90's to 100's....so it feels nice.

Michelle - you had a busy weekend. You'' be busy with your boys' sports. Good luck with your weight loss journey...don't starve yourself....just think smaller portions.

Mrswillie - you sounded all cozy in your jammies and fuzzy winter slippers. With your ydd baking I'm sure it felt like Fall time. I'm going to be baking some brownies tonight.

Hyper - that is good that dd has some friends in her dance class. I know you will be happy when your new washer comes in. I'm still behind with laundry from the weekend...I didn't get to finish it.

Sas - hope your dd is doing ok today. Hope they figure out what is causing her to feel like she is. Take care;

Well got to get back to work. Have a great day.

2007 - Hysterectomy Oct 01, 2007 - Oct 08, 2007

I have had a busy, busy 2 days. I finally took time to check in and see how you girls are doing. The rest of the week will continue busy and then next week should be a bit slower paced

The weather here has cooled off nicely. Today it was 90. I didn't even turn on the AC. That was nice. The nights are so nice with the windows opened up. I woke up last night and was cold under all my covers. Nice change.

I found out today at work that at 2 of my stores they are changing general merchandising heads. I am not thrilled with who they will be. They are like my immediate supervisors in the stores. Oh well, all I can do is hope for the best. I already work with one and he will be moved to my biggest grocery store account (he is usually Mr. Grumpy) and the other one I have heard horror stories about.

Cindy I hope your new washer shows up soon. It's amazing how fast that laundry can pile up. I'm glad to hear that your bds is doing well in school so far.

Michelle I'm sorry to hear about your relapse. I'm glad you have a friend that is going with you to your therapy this morning. Your roses sound beautiful.

Scrapper I hope you get some answers from the spine surgeon. You have been suffering for too long. Good luck with your bone density test. I just got the EOB back from when I had mine done last month and was shocked at the price. It was close to $500.00. Medical tests are outrageous. I'm glad your dd biopsy came back negative.

Jan you sounded so cozy in your jammies and slippers. I'm afraid if I were there, I would have my thermals on. A couple more months here and I will be able to wear them again

I need to go and get my clothes out of the dryer and then head to bed. Tomorrow Belle has a vet appt for her blood sugar test. We'll take her in at 9 before I head off to work. The plan is to take her in and they'll take her right back and draw the blood and then we can take her home. No more of this staying all day for her. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for good results on her.

Good morning ladies

It's a cold morning. In the 40's. I found out yesterday that now my washer won't be delivered until Thurs. afternoon. My laundry is piling up! Yesterday LDS and I stopped at the bakery and had a donut after we dropped the kids off to school. He wasn't feeling 100% yesterday so we had a pretty mellow day. I made tacos for supper last night. Tonight I have to go help set up for the church sale. So far I have three bags of stuff to donate. This is the last day to turn it in, so I may come up with a few more bags before I bring it in. I'm not sure what I'm having for supper yet.

Michelle good luck at therapy today. I'm glad you have a friend to go with. Your roses sound nice.

Scrapper I hope you will get some results with the spine surgeon. As Lisa said you have been dealing with this for too long.

Lisa I'm glad you're getting cooler weather. Yep, it won't be long and you'll be bringing out the thermals.

Have a good day everyone.

Good morning ladies

Last night I helped set up for the church sale. That was alot of work. My back was killing me when I got home. There were lots of bags of clothes and we had to keep bending over to get the clothes out to put on the tables. My washer is supposed to be delivered this afternoon. I'm glad, because my laundry is so piled up! You know what I'll be doing for the next couple days. UGH! Tonight is our first Sunbeam meeting. DD has moved up to a trailblazer and she is sad she won't be in my class anymore. But she'll have her friends with her so she'll do fine. Last night I had a bought of insomnia again. I fell asleep fast, but woke up about 1 and didn't go back to sleep until 3. DH also woke up around the same time and couldn't go back to sleep. So we passed the time with some "game time" at 2 in the morning! It is rainy and windy today. LDS is wanting me to get off the computer so I'll go for now.

I hope you are all having a good day.
