Manic Monday

Hi Sisters,
I can only write here for a sec before I get my youngest son. I am doing better, not crying as much about the shame related to my last weigh in. I had another appt today w/the same doc but my wt was 5% less than 2 weeks ago. I felt a little better. My older son won his football game Saturday, my younger son celebrated his birthday Saturday. Yesterday was a putz around the house day. Today we sent our older son off to camp w/fellow jr. highers. My dh and I watched the video LICENSE TO WED w/Robin Williams and we loved it. Then we went to appt a;nd Jamba Juice for lunch. It's very warm and sunny here w/some breezes and changing colors in the trees. We are in the North West and are expecting freezes overnight any time now. I've got cherry tomatoes growing by the dozen each day, so I'd like to put a freeze off for a long as possible. We have 3 different kinds of grapes growing too, so would love to eat them and give them away before they get ruined by frost.
Will come back and read all the posts tomorrow when dh and son are out of the house.

2007 - Hysterectomy Oct 01, 2007 - Oct 08, 2007

I worked this morning and now I'm getting ready to head to the bank.

Andrew left early this morning for his last week of training. He has to drive back home this afternoon to attend a class he has on Monday night. He also will return for class tomorrow evening. I'm not sure if he'll spend the night here tonight or head back to his hotel. He had to be at work at 8 this morning and he called me at 7:15 in a panic that he had taken a wrong turn. I don't know why he called me, because I'm the worst person to ask about directions. I don't know east from west, south from north. I think he just wanted someone to talk to while he figured out where in the heck he was. He finally got going in the right direction and I was able to get off the phone. Even when they're older they still have to come to Mom with a problem.

Yesterday Matthew came and did laundry and then we bbq'd some steaks for dinner. We also washed our cars. Both of our cars were very dirty. Mine had what looked like bird droppings that ran down the windows. I didn't think much of it because it was so dirty. Well after we washed them I put mine back in the garage. This morning I go out for work and on the drivers window is a big dropping dripping all the way down the window. We have a critter in the garage. DH thinks it's a rat and I think it's that opossum. I am scared to go out there now. I will leave my car out in the driveway until it is caught. The other night when I put one dog in the garage to eat he wouldn't eat and kept going over to this one area of the garage and looking up in the rafters. It's been in there for at least a few nights now. I also noticed a strong urine odor this morning when I opened the door into the garage. We do have a stray cat hanging out around here, but it wasn't in the garage last night. I looked at my car closer and whatever it was had sprayed a good portion of my car and there was urine on the garage floor. I just don't know if an opossum sprays like a cat does. Tonight dh is going to set a rat trap out there, but I think we need something bigger than that. I'll let you know tomorrow if we had any luck.

Jan I hope that your head is feeling better. I also hope that your rain is stopping. Are you near Chicago? I saw on the news last night that they were having record rain fall. We're in the low 90's here today.

Cindy I'm glad you caught up on your cleaning. Hopefully you caught up on your laundry today.

I need to get off of here and get to the bank. When I get home I need to clean up that urine in the garage. I cannot stand that smell. I just hope that Mr. critter won't attack me out there. I'm such a chicken...

I hope everyone has a relaxing evening.

Hi Ladies,

Another rainy day here. Lisa, we are closer to Peoria than Chicago. I am about 130 miles from Chicago. Same weather situation at the moment though. We have had crazy weather for about a year now. Not sure if it is related to climate change, or just a strange coincidence.

I have still had to take sinus meds today. I bowed out of working out tonight. I picked up GD and took her grocery shopping with me. I made some stir fry when we got home. This evening GD has been complaining of a tummy ache. I hope it passes and she makes it through the night. YDD is getting ready for bed because she has early bird practices at 6 am this week. With her going to bed it should be nice and quiet and hopefully I can get some good rest. I wish this weather would pass. maybe if it changes I can get my sinuses/headache to clear up.

Lisa I think you are right. it sounds bigger than a rat to me. I would not want to go in there either! I hope DH gets to the bottom of it.

Cindy sounds like another busy day for you. I hope you got caught up with that laundry.

Michelle happy birthday to your DS. I am glad you are feeling better. Did you ever make grape juice from your grapes? I have never done it but my DH has grown a bunch and we are considering doing it soon.

Well off to bed for me ladies, Good night!

2007 - Hysterectomy Oct 01, 2007 - Oct 08, 2007

Good morning

Yesterday was busy. I had forgotten in between working lunch and dd's dance, BDS and DD had a dentist appt. No cavities, so I was happy. I made spaghetti and meatballs for supper. That is DD's favorite. She is taking leftovers for lunch today. Today I am working hot lunch again. We are short of volunteers on Tuesday, so we all rotate and take a Tuesday. I did get all of my laundry caught up yesterday. That was a relief. DD and BDS have so much homework every night. Poor DD is having a hard time adjusting to the work load of 3rd. grade. So far she's been a straight A student. But 3rd grade has been a big transition for her and she is so stressed and tired when she gets home from school. I hope once she's adjusted things will be better for her. Well I'd better wake up the kids.

Lisa how true, kids always need their moms even when they get older. I agree I think that creature in your garage is more than a rat. I don't blame you for parking your car in the driveway. I hope you can find out what it is and get rid of it.

Jan I hope your weather improves so you will be able to feel better. I have problems with my sinuses too. I hope you were able to get a good nights sleep.

Michelle I'm glad you're feeling better. It sounds like your oldest son has a good football team. Happy belated birthday to your son. Your weather sounds nice. I love when the leaves begin to change.

I hope you all have a good day.

2007 - Hysterectomy Oct 01, 2007 - Oct 08, 2007

Hi ladies,

Well we had a nice, relaxing weekend. Dd and I went for our manicures on Saturday afternoon. Friday night I was so tired. I picked up dinner and we went back home and watched TV. I even fell asleep on the recliner...LOL.
Saturday just spent doing laundry and went out to get some groceries. I think we were all tired so it was good that we had no plans.

Work is busy but not crazy like it was 2 weeks ago. Yesterday I went for my bone density test...so we will see what the doctor says about the results. I see him on the 29th.

This week is busy with different meetings for dd.....last night was orientation for religious education. Classes start on the 22nd. Tonight I have a parent meeting at school for choir.

Lisa - hope work slows down a bit for you. Poor Belle...how many insulin shots does she get a day? Good luck with the critter in the garage. I would be afraid to out there too.

Mrswillie - that is terrible with the flooding in your house. Hope the figure out what the problem is with the dishwasher. Hope you can get your floor repaired sooner than later. Hope your rain lets up soon.

Hyper - it's always hard to catch up on laundry when behind. So glad you finally got your new washer. Hope 3rd grade gets better for dd.

Well back to work. Have a great day.

Hi All,

Still not quite feeling up to par. Everybody and their brother has been talking about sinus problems today so it is good to know I am not the only one in town with this problem. GD was pretty good today. I made baked mostaciolli for dinner. After dinner I had to help YDD with some homework. We are getting ready to head to bed. We are all tired here.

Scrapper your weekend sounds like it went well. I don't get to sleep in this Sat either, but I am looking forward to sleeping in Sunday! I bet you will be ready to relax this weekend after a week full of evening meetings. I hope all goes well on the 29th.

Cindy you have been busy. I hate all the homework. I know some of it is necessary, but sometimes when they get so much it feels like homework for the parents. I feel for DD because 3rd grade is a big transition year. I hope you are right and after the initial adjustment it gets easier for her.

DS called tonight and it sounds like things are still going well with his classes. He is missing the meals we had at home. He takes some of his meals in the dining hall, but others he eats at his dorm and that is a rotation of frozen pizza, ramen, mac and cheese, or pb sandwiches. I encouraged him to try to get to the dining hall more often, but he did not seem like that was going to happen. I will have to get together something to send him as a care package. Lisa you have had experience with this any suggestions???

Well it is off to bed for me. Sleep well ladies.

2007 - Hysterectomy Oct 01, 2007 - Oct 08, 2007

I worked this morning and then came home and got the backyard mowed. It was a little warm this afternoon, but not that bad. We have a cool down on the way YAY

Well last night "Trapper Joe" AKA dh went and bought a rat trap and some huge glue traps. He comes home and sets them up in the rafters and comes in and says any minute we'll have our victim. He was so disappointed this morning when everything was still the same. This afternoon when I got home from work there was another huge puddle of urine on the garage floor. It wasn't there when I left earlier. I called animal control at that point to get their advice. At first she said it could be an opossum or a racoon. When I told her that it had been out this afternoon and made a mess, she then said that it wasn't either of those, because they are nocturnal and they wouldn't be out during the day. She said it has to be a feral cat. I am going tomorrow to pick up a trap and hopefully this will be the end of it. I'll let you know what happens tomorrow.

Jan I'm sorry your still having sinus problems. Your dinner sounds yummy. As far as care packages, I would send more snacky things. It would be too hard to send meal type items. Matthew got burnt out of macaroni and cheese real fast.

Cindy congratulations to your kids on no cavities. I'm glad you got your laundry all caught up. Too bad it can't stay that way.

Michelle happy belated birthday to your ds. I'm glad you are feeling better.

Scrapper it sounds like you are having a busy week. I hope you get good results back on your test. Belle gets two shots a day. They have to be right after she is fed and 12 hours apart. I plan my life around my dog.

Well I better get off of here and get ready for bed. I will let you all know what we catch tomorrow.

Good morning ladies

Today I'm going on a field trip with DD. We are going to a place called river rendevous. It's where they do a reenactment of the 1800's. My friend is keeping LDS today. He is so excited. He just loves my friend, I think he has a crush on her.

Scrapper your weekend sounds like it was nice and relaxing. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for good results on your test. It sounds like you have a busy week.

Jan I'm sorry your still having problems with your sinus. I'm glad to hear classes are going well for your DS.

Lisa I sure hope you catch that critter. I'm curious to see what it is.

Have a good day everyone.

Hi Ladies,

It is a nice morning here, hopefully to be followed by a nice dry day for a change. I am keeping my fingers crossed for relief, LOL.

Lisa the cat sounds like it may be the right guess. You had mentioned your car had been sprayed and a cat would spray, as well as be up and around at that time. I hope the trap works and you can have your garage back. I think you are right about snacky stuff, even though DS is a pretty disciplined eater after all these years of wrestling. He started back to wrestling this week, so he probably won't do alot of snacking. I may send granola bars, protein bars, apple chips, instant oatmeal stuff like that. If it is not low fat/low cal he most likely won't eat it. I'll have to try to think of more non perishable type of healthy snacks. How I wish I had that boy's discipline!

Cindy sounds like you are going to have a great day. Enjoy your trip!

Have a great day ladies.

2007 - Hysterectomy Oct 01, 2007 - Oct 08, 2007

I only worked for 2 hours this morning and have had the day to myself. DH is working until 8 and Andrew is off at his training and won't be home until Friday. There are a lot of things I should be doing, but they can wait. It is so quiet in this house right now.

The weather really cooled off today. Only in the low 80's. I love it being like this. Wish it would stay this way.

I went and picked up the trap at the police department today. Last night I put out 10 pieces of cat food and some water. This morning it hadn't been touched. I was thinking if it was a cat it should be pretty hungry by now. I am really puzzled on this. I just hope whatever it is we will be able to catch. My garage smells horrible now. When I'm in the kitchen I can smell it now, because the door from the kitchen goes out into the garage. There has been a feral cat in our neighborhood for about a year and I haven't seen him in about a week. The last couple of weeks he wasn't looking too good. DH said it will be just our luck that it will die up in the rafters and then we'll really have a smell. So far today there aren't any new puddles on the garage floor. Hopefully soon we will know for sure what we are dealing with.

Cindy your field trip sounds like fun. I went on every field trip with my boys and enjoyed them all. I'm sure your lds had a good time today with your friend.

Jan I hope you had a good day today. I wish I could be more disiplined on my eating habits also. If it has chocolate or sugar in it, I will make it disappear

I hope everyone has a relaxing evening and I'll let you know if we get a victim tonight.
