Good morning ladies,

Happy Friday!!! Well I made it through my first week back at work. I've had trouble getting up in the morning, but I'm sure it will get easier. The good thing is that I have been sleeping through the night until the alarm goes off.

We are going to be having a wet weekend. Rain started yesterday afternoon and hasn't stopped. It was really heavy by the time we got home.

Dd said the audition went very well. They both felt good about it. They will find out next Wednesday if they made it. She said that the choir teacher was smiling and nodding his head as they sang. I told her that is a good sign.

Lisa - hope the meds give dh some relief. I hope too that he doesn't need to have surgery.

Hyper - glad you are feeling somewhat better. Enjoy the movies with the kids.

Mrswillie - enjoy your evening tonight. Dd wants to go to the mall too. I think one of her friends is coming over tommorrow. They want to go take pictures. I'll have to confirm with her to see if that is still the plan.

Tomorrow I have a haircut appt. My best friend is coming over on Sunday afternoon and we are going to do some scrapbooking. I'm back into it now that I have time to work on my albums.

Enjoy the weekend ladies!

Hi ladies,

LDS and I had a nice time on our errands. I ended up stopping at Kohls. They have their 80% clearance racks right now. I got two pair of slacks for church and I got DD 4 tops. It's always fun to find bargains.

Jan we must have been posting at the same time this morning. That seems to happen alot. I with you. I'll take small signs of spring to come. Every little sign is a ray of hope! It is much warmer here today too, and we are supposed to have a fairly warm weekend. Your dinner sounds good. Enjoy your evening with DH.

Scrapper glad you made it through your first week. I'm sure as time passes you'll get used to getting up early again. That is good that you're sleeping through the night. Have a nice time with your fun plans for the weekend.

Talk to you all soon.

TGIF

My plan is to have a relaxing weekend and gear up for next week. It will be a doozy. I hadn't planned on leaving the house this weekend, but Home Depot called today and said that our doors are finally in. I'm going to try and find someone to help me pick them up tomorrow. I hate to leave them there too long, otherwise they may lose them.

DH was doing better this morning and things went downhill from there. He was actually walking on his own and took a shower. After his shower he was back in pain. He said the standing made it hurt really bad. He can get along pretty well using the walker. He hates not being able to do anything. He is getting depressed just laying there. It's a good thing I'll be home this weekend with him. I am going to have to arrange for people to pop in next week to check on him while I'm at work, since it's one of my busiest weeks of the year. He's upset that he can't go pick up the doors with me.

Today after work I went and got my hair cut. It looks so much better now. It was getting out of control. I was looking like a wild woman. I came home and washed it and re-styled it and am happy with it now.

Cindy it sounds like you and lds had a nice day together. You found some nice bargains. I'm glad your feeling better. To answer your question about my van. I took it in a couple months ago and they said I needed the power steering fluid flushed. They did it and when I got it back it started making a whining noise when I would turn the wheel. I should have taken it back right away, but I didn't. Now they say that the power steering pump needs to be replaced. It was fine when I took it in. They want $577 to replace it. They also told dh on Thursday that it needs new front brakes, new battery and I can't even remember all the other things they suggested. DH checked the brakes last month and they were fine. When I took it in on Thursday before I even left they checked the battery and fluids and said the battery was fine. I just can't trust them now.

Jan I'm glad you made it through your week Have a relaxing weekend.

Scrapper we are having a wet weekend as well. Have fun on Sunday with your scrapbooking.

I need to go and do my evening doggie duty. Then I'll watch some TV and go to bed.

I hope everyone has a nice weekend

Hi Ladies,

I apologize in advance for this post. I know all my posts sound like downers lately but things have not been going well in my building lately. Friday turned out to be a horrible day. My principal had to leave the building and put me in charge by telephone. In other words handle everything and call him if I need a decision that requires his authority. Now this happens sometimes and it is usually not a problem, in fact sometimes it is kind of fun. But Friday was not. I had 2 kids that had to be suspened , one had to be escorted out by the police , and another unpleasant issue with a cell phone before the day was finished. It was a long day but I had been in a good mood and when I came home at 4 I was pretty happy. DH and I ate the dinner I made which came out great. We were relaxing on the couch after we cleaned up, waiting for a movie we were going to watch at 8. The telephone rang about 6:30 with the news that changed the entire week. One of our students, 12 years old, had hung himself in his home. I was on the phone the entire evening with parents, principal, and counselors. Saturday morning I headed to the office and met with the principal to complete our plans for Monday, to call the family with condolences, and to prepare grief materials for the teachers. Monday I will be at my building at 6:30 am to meet with staff and at 7:50 we will address students and then begin the crisis counseling. The arrangements have not been settled yet, but we will have that to come and counseling will be heavy for awile. I feel so bad for this boys family. His mother found him. There was not a note and there were no signs that we saw in our setting, and nothing the police can find after investigating. It is just so baffling and sad.

Last night I did take YDD to the mall. We got some sales at Penney's, I bought 4 tops and she bought 3, but we never made it to Kohls. She said her ears were starting to hurt. By bedtime she had a full blown double earache. None of my kids has had one of those in 15 years! She was so uncomfortable she couldn't sleep. First thing this morning I went out and got her ear drops and a new decongestant. It is helping and she is sleeping this afternoon. I have been doing laundry. I baked some oatmeal cookies and I have corned beef cooking for dinner. I am enjoying as normal of a day as possible for today because we know this is going to be an extremely crazy week around here. I will be heading to bed early tonight.

Cindy I am glad you got some good bargains. It was warm yesterday and it felt great. Today it is colder, 40 maybe. But that is still so much better than it was.

Lisa I am sorry DH is back in pain. I think having someone with him sounds like a good idea. A new haircut is always such a good feeling. I hope your week passes quickly.

Scrapper I hope it is easier to get up this week for you. I hope you got alot of scrapbooking done.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

I just put of pot of stew on the stove and I'm getting ready to head out back to clean up the land mines out there. With 3 dogs they add up quickly. That is dh job, but since he can't, I'm not going to let them pile up until he is able to get back out there again.

Andrew has to be at work at 5, so he's coming by for an early dinner. Yesterday he helped me go pick up the doors and then I fed him dinner before he had to be at work at 6.

DH is about the same. He is still using the walker to get around with.

Yesterday morning when I opened the paper, the front page article was about the state coming in on Friday evening and closing our bank. There has been a lot of speculation that it would be closing, but for it to finally be closed is sad. Another bank will be taking over and will open tomorrow morning with a new name. I have been with that bank since I was a senior in 1977. I was one of the first to open up an account with them. They are saying that we shouldn't notice any difference in service other than a different name on our checks.

Jan I'm sorry to hear that you had such a sad ending to your week. How tragic. I will keep his family in my prayers. I hope ydd ear starts feeling better. An earache is the worst. Your dinner sounds yummy.

Cindy and Scrapper I hope you are enjoying your weekends.

I need to get out back. Enjoy the rest of the weekend, ladies.

Hi ladies,

It's been a good weekend. Yesterday we just relaxed most of the day. DH, DD and I ran out to the coffee house in the afternoon. DH and I had a latte and DD had a huge cookie. The boys didn't have any interest in coming so they stayed home. I took DD and LDS to see Hotel Dogs today. It was a cute movie. I didn't go to the grocery store Friday as I planned, I spent too much time in Kohls! Anyway, we stopped and got groceries after the movies. DH and BDS are still gone. DH called to say they would be home in about a half hour or so.

Lisa I'm glad Andrew was able to help you pick up the doors. I don't blame you for not trusting your car place. Could you take it to another place and get a second opinion? I hope DH is feeling better next week. I can just imagine how busy you'll be! I'll hope that you'll be able to have some downtime in the evenings.

Jan you don't have to apologize for your post. That is awful. I'm so sorry to hear it. I will also keep the family in my prayers. I know your week will be hard. I hope YDD feels better soon. I'm glad you found some sales at JC Penny. I like that store, but there isn't one real close to us. I have to be having something to do in that area for it to be worth it for me to go there.

I hope you all have a relaxing evening before your busy week. Sleep well.

Hi ladies,

Today was my hot lunch day. It rained all day. BDS stayed after school today to catch up on some of his late assignments. I picked DD up, then went back and picked up DS. DD had dance tonight. I started carpooling with a friend of mine whose daughter is also in dance. I bring the girls to dance and she picks them up. I made spaghetti for supper. I put the kids to bed a half hour ago and DD just came down and asked me if she could make her lunch for tomorrow. huh? I wanted to tell her to get back up to bed, but I decided to let her. Now she is asking me a million questions and I could have had the lunch done 10 minutes ago. That's what I get for giving in. I'm going to read for a little bit before I head off to bed.

I know you all had a busy day, I hope you are finding some time to relax this evening.

Sleep well.

Good morning ladies,

We finally have a break in the rain. We had rain since last Thursday through late yesterday. Next storm coming in later in the week. This morning was so cold...my car read 40 driving into work. I wore tights with my skirt today to keep my legs warm.

Dd had the day off yesteday for Lincoln's bday and then she gets next Monday off too. She also had an appt for a physical. All went well and she is caught up on all her immunizations. The only thing she needed was a TB test and have some lab work done.

I've been trying to get to bed by 10. So what I"m doing is by 9:30ish I start heading to my room and get ready for bed so that by 10 I'm in bed. Today during lunch I'm going to start my walks up again.

The weekend was good. I just went out for my haircut on Saturday then did markteting. We watched a movie Saturday evening - Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian. It was good...we had seen the first one.

Sunday I did my scrapbooking with my friend. We had a good time and both accomplished quite a bit. Dd had a friend over and they were busy doing their own thing.

Hyper - glad you had a good weekend. Sounds like dd wants to start doing more like making her lunch.

Lisa - when is dh's MRI. Good thing that he can get around with the walker. Glad you were able to pick up the doors.

Mrswillie - hope ydd is feeling better. What an awful incident with the 12 yr old student. So young!!! The poor mom....finding him...I can't even imagine that.

Well back to work. Have a great day!!

Hi ladies,

My new grandbaby was born last night! He weighed 8 lbs. 14 oz. He and his mommy are doing fine. My son was so excited and proud when he called me. It was really nice to hear him so happy. I'm excited as well. I can't wait until we go visit them.

Today it rained again. BDS had BB practice tonight. We went to the library after school. I made BBQ chicken for supper.

Scrapper I'm glad you finally got a break from the rain. It sounds like you had a nice weekend. My DD wants to see Chronicles of Narnia-Prince Caspian. We also saw the first movie. I'm glad DD's physical went well.

Lisa and Jan I hope you are finding some time to relax. I miss you both.

Sleep well ladies.
