Re: Hysterectomy dates Oct 01-Oct 08,2007

Hi ladies,

Sorry I haven't posted, I've been sick. I woke up Thursday morning and literally could not get out of bed. Luckily dh was still here. I told him I need to get to the doctor. I was running 102 temp. He took me to the doc. The doc diagnosed me with H1N1. I was so sick Thursday and Friday. DH took those two days off from work to take care of the kids. They were off of school. The doc prescribe me tamiflu. Twice a day for 5 days. He prescribed my whole family tamiflu to take once a day for 10 days as a precaution since they were exposed. I of course had to call in sick Thursday to work. They were very good about it and I was so worried about infecting someone at work. The told me not to worry. There have been other cases of influenza at work and they were handling it. I feel so much better today. i still feel sick, but compared to how I felt, I'm happy to be feeling this good. DH took dd out for lunch and the boys are downstairs playing video games. It's such a beautiful weekend. Sunny and about 50. I want to go out so badly. I sat out on the deck for awhile earlier. this weekend will just be resting and getting fully recovered for me. Doc said as soon as my fever breaks I'm not contagious. He said I should recover in 4-7 days. My fever broke yesterday.

Jan YDD's room is so pretty. I love the color paint and her bedding matches nicely. I'll bet she is happy to have her room back. Dh did a good job. I'm sorry work has been so busy. Even though you might not be able to post as often, I still love hearing from you when you do. I'm glad GD and ODD are better. I hope YDD feels better soon. I sure hope you are spared and don't get it.

Scrapper it sounds like you have a relaxing weekend planned. It's too bad your friend couldn't make it for scrapping. That is great about dd's grades. She is doing very well. BDS's conferences are in November. But we can go online and look at his grades. For the end of the 1st qtr. He got a b in Algebra, b in english and the rest a's. I hope dd has luck finding jeans.

Have a good weekend ladies.

Re: Hysterectomy dates Oct 01-Oct 08,2007

Hi

I finished cutting all my pieces. I need some stabilizer and I will have to run to the fabric store to get it tomorrow. That has me stalled for now. I was irritated by this but I think DH is glad that I am going to stop for the evening.

Cindy I am so sorry to hear that you had the flu! Good thing you went to the doctor. I hope the tamilfu keeps the rest of your family from getting it. It is pretty nice here this weekend but I too don't have time to enjoy it. It is more important for you to rest. We are supposed to have some nice days this week so hopefully you can get out then. I am glad you are feeling better and I hope you feel even better tomorrow. Take care of yourself!

Re: Hysterectomy dates Oct 01-Oct 08,2007

Hi girls

I spent the weekend cleaning and doing yard work. That storm we had on Tuesday left a horrible mess in the yards. I got the backyard all cleaned up yesterday and mowed and the front yard just needs to be mowed this afternoon after work. They are saying we have a slight chance of rain today, but I hope it holds off until I get done with the front.

I'm hoping it will be nice weather tomorrow. I cannot believe I am going to be 50!!! That is just old. The more I think about it the more depressed I'm getting. I'm not going to think about it until I have to. I think DH has invited quite a few people over tomorrow. He won't tell me how many or who. You know me, I always have to know whats going on. I don't like not being in control of things. I just hope he has enough food planned for this. I need to learn to let others handle things and not stress about things I have no control over. Maybe that will be my 50's resolution.

Scrapper I'm glad you didn't have the winds we had with the rain. We had so many downed limbs around here. The gutters were flooding because the drains were all clogged up with leaves. What a mess. Thats great that your dd brought her grade in math up.

Jan I know exactly how you feel with not getting as much accomplished as you once did. I can't get projects done like I used to and I don't have a little one at home to take care of either. When I was home and the boys were younger it was so much easier. I'm glad gd and dd are feeling better. I also wash my hair daily. I know it would be better if I didn't, but it just looks so bad in the mornings. I tired the curly mouse style over the weekend and my family said to go back to blow drying it. It didn't look good. Sometimes I wish I could just shave it off and life would be so much easier. I'm going to check out your pictures later this evening.

Cindy I'm sorry you were so sick. I'm really glad your feeling better now. Hopefully the rest of the family will stay healthy. Take care and rest until you feel 100%. Your bds sounds like he's doing great in school. Congrats to him.

Matthew called me yesterday afternoon and said that the four high schools from around here had been in Santa Cruz on Saturday at a band review. On their way home they were shot at and windows broken out of busses. No one was injured, thank God. All those years I traveled with the band while Andrew was in band, I never would have thought something like that would happen. Two of the busses had stopped for a potty break and weren't traveling with the others when it happened. They had to put those on lockdown and then be escorted past the sight by the CHP. They then loaded the kids onto the busses that weren't hit and they were returned back to their schools. The drivers had to stay with the CHP at the scene and make their reports. What a scary situation.

I need to get off of here and head to work. I wanted to check in before the busy week starts all over again.

Have a great day, girls

Re: Hysterectomy dates Oct 01-Oct 08,2007

Hi Ladies,

I thought I would try to get on here because tonight I know I will be super busy. After work I have to stop at WalMart for some basic supplies like toothpaste and shampoo. Then I will pick up GD. Come home do dinner and then try to get back to the quilt. It will be easy dinners until this project is done. Tonight is going to be a GD favorite hotdogs and french fries. I think ODD is off work tonight so she should be able to keep GD out of my way and give GD her bath. My plans will really be foiled if I am wrong and she does work tonight. Oh well I will do whatever needs to be done. Don't we all!!

Lisa that is too bad that you didn't like the wash n go hairstyle but at least now with the shorter layers this style should be easier to dry I would think. That was terrible about those school buses! I don't know what this world will be like when GD is our age things just seem to be going downhill. It is so sad. I hope everyone was ok. Don't worry about the party prep. Just sit back and enjoy. You are the birthday girl. Let the others wait on you! It will all work out. I bet he enlisted some help from your other family members and it will all be fine. I will keep my fingers crossed for good weather.

Cindy I hope you are feeling better. We have a confirmed case of H1N1 here and so far 30 kids out today. This is going to be one nasty winter illness season I fear. Do you have kids out Scrapper? Well I need to get back to work. Take care ladies.

Re: Hysterectomy dates Oct 01-Oct 08,2007

Hello ladies,

It's busy and will be like this all week. We are tyring to get our work done, clean out files and pack. I have another file drawer to pack. The things on my desk I will take down on Friday to my new work area.

The weekend was nice. Friday night dd and I went jean shopping - no luck. She was tired and not feeling great...she was on her period. I told her we should wait until this coming weekend. So we picked up dinner on the way home. Saturday I dropped her off at school for the PSAT then I went for my haircut. Once I got back home it was marketing and laundry. We went to the movies in the evening to see Whip It...we really enjoyed it. Yesterday we met my sisters and went out to dinner.

Mrswille - I understand how work is busy for you. I'm really feeling it with all the cuts we had. It is difficult to manage all that we need to handle on top of working. Somehow we manage though. I'll have to look at the pics you sent of ydd's room. I didn't turn on my computer on at home all weekend. Good luck finishing up your quilt. I work at the administrative offices of our school district so I'm not at a school site. They haven't said much if we have had any cases at the schools.

Hyper - sorry to hear that you were really sick. Glad you got to the doctor right away. Hope you feel better each day. Take care of yourself and rest as much as you can. That's great that bds is doign well in school.

Lisa - sounds like dh has your party under control. Enjoy yourself and dont' worry about anything. Too bad the curly hair stlye didn't work out too well. That's scary that the busses got shot at -thank goodness no one was hurt. have a good work week.

Got to get back to work...have a good evening.

Re: Hysterectomy dates Oct 01-Oct 08,2007

Hi ladies,

I am feeling pretty much back to normal. Poor BDS is sick. He missed school yesterday and is home again today. I really hate thinking about him getting behind in school work, since he has been doing so well. Our cupboards were bare, so I ran to the grocery store this morning. It's the first time I've been out. I was worried I would overdo it and feel bad again, but I feel o.k. Our weekend was really relaxing. DH did some projects around the house. I rested and the kids played and relaxed. We have a few more tweaks here and there to do to the house. After that I will take some pictures and send them to you. Tonight LDS has his tumbling class. I'm making fajitas for supper.

Lisa Happy birthday! Don't worry about being 50. The most important thing is you have your health. You are only as old as you feel, as they say. Some days I feel 80, but... Just sit back and enjoy your party. I can't wait to hear about it.

Jan I'm sorry you have the extra work of getting the quilt done. I hope you are able to get it done soon, and put it behind you. I hope it works out that ODD will be home to take care of GD. I know that will help you be able to get alot done. Your dinner actually sounds good. Now I wish I would have bought some hot dogs when I went to the grocer.

Scrapper I'm sorry no luck in finding jeans. I know she'll find some eventually. It sounds like you had a nice weekend. I don't think I've heard about that movie. I'm glad you enjoyed it.

I hope you all have a nice day.

Re: Hysterectomy dates Oct 01-Oct 08,2007

Hi ladies,

It's quite hectic at work with all the packing going on. Our move date is Friday. I don't have too much more to pack. The things on top of my desk I won't pack. Instead on Friday throughout the day I will walk down and take them down to my new cubicle.

Tonight I have a parent choir meeting at school. They have their first concert next week. I think they get their dresses at the end of the week.

Mrswillie - ydd's room looks great!! colors are very nice too. Those are dd's favorite colors too. Hope you made some progress on the quilt last night.

hyper - so glad to hear that you are feeling so much better. Hope bds recovers quickly. Enjoy your fajitas...sounds yummy.

Have a good day.

Re: Hysterectomy dates Oct 01-Oct 08,2007

Good morning ladies,

BDS is still sick and dd is home sick today. I hope lds will be spared. I worked last night. I still don't have my full strength back. I was exhausted when I got home last night. I work again tonight, I have Friday off, then I work the weekend. Tuesday after school we went to the library. LDS saw his best friend there that was our old neighbors. He's the one who gave lds the picture frame. They were so happy to see each other. When we left, they hugged each other. We are going to have him over soon for a play date. It rained all day yesterday. Today is cloudy and chilly. I got emails from BDS's teachers. They all have said they want to help him get caught up when he comes back. He is going to stay after school and spend time with each teacher getting caught up. That was so nice of them and I was really pleased to know they would do that. I wasn't sure how the high school worked with that kind of thing. Well I need to jump in the shower and do a few things before I have to go to work.

Scrapper that packing is not fun. I think it's a good idea to just move the things on your desk. Saves some packing. I hope it goes smoothly on Friday for you. I bet your dd is excited to be having her first concert next week.

Have a good day ladies.

Re: Hysterectomy dates Oct 01-Oct 08,2007

Good morning ladies,

I was still sound asleep when my alarm went off this morning. I'm tired. You hear everyone in the office saying that they are tired. We've been working so hard it pack everything up. They want us to be all packed up by the end of the day today. We don't know what time the movers will be here tomorrow.

I just need to pack up my desk drawers - 2 small ones and I am done.

Tonight dd and I are going to the movies to see Where the Wild Things Are. It starts at 6pm so we will be home early enough to get things done. The only homework dd will have is for her English class that is due tomorrow.

Last night dd and I went to the gym, stopped and got gas after. We headed home and had dinner. I made bbq chicken breasts, rice and veggies...came out really good.

Dd told me that she has a couple of friends that have been to an apple orchard to pick apples not too far from us. She got the name of the place and we looked at it briefly last night. I need to read more about it and get the info we need...location, hrs, etc.

Hyper - sorry to hear that bds is still home sick. That is great that his teachers are going to help him catch up. Oh no, now dd is sick. Hope they feel better soon. At least they will have the weekend to recover. Hope you get stronger each day.

Have a good day ladies. I have lots to get done today.

Re: Hysterectomy dates Oct 01-Oct 08,2007

Good morning ladies,

I have the day off today. It's raining. It's lds' day home, so we will spend some time together. BDS is starting to feel better, but is still home today. I think he should be fine to go back on Monday. DD went back today. She didn't have the flu luckily, she has more of a sinus thing. But she felt good this morning. I have to work this weekend. I'm not looking forward to getting up at 5. A good friend of mine called me yesterday to tell me she's having another baby. They have 3 girls. Her husband's hoping for a boy this time. I'd better jump off and start my day with lds.

Scrapper I know you'll be glad to have the move behind you. I hope it goes well. You'll have to let me know how the movie was. My kids want to see that as well. I've read that book to all of my kids. I think you'll really enjoy the apple orchard. We have several around us. It's a fun day out.

Lisa and Jan I hope your week is going well.

Have a great day.
