Saw the oncologist today

Hi Sisters,

I saw the oncologist this morning and was very surprised when he said the pathology reports said I had stage 2 grade 3 endometrial cancer and need to have radiation. My gyn told me the reports all came back as stage 1. I am freaking out, does this mean it can spread easier, I am searching the web and it seems grade 3 means it is a higher likelyhood that the cancer spread.

I am going to schedule a Pet Scan but the oncologist told me they really don't know how to read Pet Scans yet but to have one done so they can use my data in the next 3-5 years, that did not really give me a warm fuzzy feeling.

Anyone out there have any words of wisdom?

This is my first post. I love this website. i have learned more from all of you great ladies than i have from my own Dr. I am 34 and had a TAH on Oct 2. I feel pretty good, finally, this week.I have been off of all pain meds for about a week now with the exception of an occasional Ibup here and there. I never did have any vaginal discharge which bothered me but, Doc said that was normal for some people. My question is this...before I had my staples out several of them were red, irritated and oozing pus.Doc said they were just irritated and it would go away. After the staples were out most of it did clear up except one spot. When i went back a week later she said it was still just irritated but, she wanted to cauterize it to make it heal faster. A week later I still have an open wound and it is stilln oozing pus. Is this normal? Has anyone else had this problem?

yesterday i went to the doctor it's two weeks since my op and i had felt a lump in my arm just about where they put the iv line a few weeks back.
i am pleased i went and showed the doctor as it is a small clot, he says it should disappear over time but if it gets red and spreads to come straight back. so he looked at my wound at the same time and all looks to be healing well.
so i guess i got to have a two week checkup instead of six week first.
i went for 30min walk today and may watch one dvd.
i am going to cook tea tonite.

Day 21

Morning everyone,
Just got back from my first lenghty (for me anyway) walk. I'm pooped out but in a good way. Just enjoying a light snack and a cuppa tea, then I'll have a short nap I guess. Slowly but surely...

Have a good one all!

Hello Everyone

Just returned from my doctor's appointment. It went fairly well. I had one of those jags where I could not stop crying right in the office. I honestly was not upset, just can not control it. The doctor really wants me to start on low dose hormones. I came home with some but I do not think I am going to start them for another 2 weeks. I had wanted to wait the full 6 weeks because of the blood clot thing, but now I am not sure about waiting the full length. my question is everyone on this site seems to talk about the vivelle dot. That is not what he gave me he prescribed premarin 0.625. Anyone else take this?

Good Morning Everyone...

I am really struggling and getting super frustrated! i got home from the hospital Sat evening. I am taking tons of antibotics for this abcess that they found. I need to take these meds with food so i am eating 5 times a day, even after eating I still am very nausas with these pills, not to mention I have a rash from head to toe, which in the hosp. they gave me benedyrel for so i continue with that and today I am no longer breaking out (thank goodness) if these antibotics do not work then I will have to have another surgery. since I have gotten home I feel like a truck ran over my body and my enegery is that of when I had had mono. I am able to stay up for about an hour at the most before I need a nap again. I am able to walk shorter distances then before. Yesterday I load the dishwasher turned it on an I couldn't get up the rest of the day.

Anyway i needed to vent my frusration and i thank you all for listening!

Vent away! I can imagine how frustrating that would be. I really hope the antibiotics work for you! I know it is frustrating to feel so tired, but obviously it is your body telling you rest so it can heal. Don't worry about the dishes! Rest and let the meds work. I will be thinking of you. I hope the antibiotics do the job!

good morning all. I am so grateful for each and every one of your posts. The good, the bad, the sad. I thank you all and I am praying and thinking healing thoughts for each and every one of us! Today I am setting the timer for ten minutes and picking up a little... folding laundry.... doing a little dishes.... I have made friends with the dust buffalos and am resting. Reading... relaxing. I keep thinking 3 or 4 weeks from now Iam going to wish to be resting... reading.... relaxing. Today I am grateful for my house and all its messes as I watch the horrific fires where people are losing their houses. I wish U all a truly good day. One thing I have learned is when laying down the cute little kangaroo pouch that I have acquired since surgery does not rub and irritate incision....

I thank each one of you who've posted encouraging words to me. I appreciate every single prayer that is spoken on my behalf as well. The reinforcements are on the way. My aunt who lives out of state is flying in Sunday, before my Monday surgery. Just having her here will cheer me up and lift my spirits. I am coming to accept another op, rather than rebel and reject it in my mind. I had a relaxing day w/dh yesterday, and am on my own today. Some of the things I'm reading about are disturbing. An abcess, a puss-y staple hole, no energy almost 3 weeks after hyst....girls, I hope you are getting what you need. Antibiotics that cause a rash...sounds like an allergic reaction. Puss should not continue to leak from a staple hole...get antibiotics. If I weren't having my other issues, I would be having fun, shopping, quilting, scrap booking, making my home look nice. Maybe it's my age, but it seems like most of us should be feeling better by now. I hope and pray that everyone is healing the way she should. God bless, M

good morning. I was feeling pretty good this morning, so I put a load of laundry in and folded a load. Took a shower. Now I feel sore and tired. It's so frustrating. I feel good and try to get up and around a little bit then I'm wiped out the rest of the day. Oh well, I know I have to be patient. It will get better with time. Hope everyone is doing well today.
