I know exactually how you feel hyperhyster, I always feel the same way. I didn't do any work just out early, 7 AM to McDonalds to meet my friends for coffee the walked the trail with a friend. Now I am tired and have to take a nap. I feel great otherwise but am wipe out by the afternoon. It is our bodies way of healing. Take care everyone.

Hi All,
I had a TAH and kept my ovaries. I am starting to feel like myself again. My heart goes out to you if you are having a hard day. Be kind to yourself. Every person's healing time will be different. It depends on your body, your overall health, your nutrition, your ability to relax, your hormones du jour, etc...

If you are having a hard time, give yourself grace. Take several deep breaths. Drink something. Eat a nutritous snack. I have found getting outside, even if it is sitting on my deck, is helpful. Maybe a little change of scenery may help you. Walk to the mailbox. Enjoy the fall leaves.

Accept your body and appreciate how it heals. Grace to all...

Hi Pam, how are you feeling this morning? I hope that you're not making any more beds just yet. Don't feel stupid about it, I would have (and have) done the same thing. Im glad to hear about your treat....Can you send those men with sweaty brows round to me please?
Hope that you are feeling better.

Dear SHOEAHOLIC
My op was also on 2 October and I had my staples out on the following Sunday. All was fine. I went to see my doctor a week later for a water infection and I asked him to look at my wound and I also had a slight discharge of blood at the one end of my wound. He said that this was ok and not to be overly concerned and that it would heal into a scab. Since then the wound has healed nicely (I think). I do think that it is important that you keep an eye on it and if you are worried then you MUST go back to the doctor (at the end of the day it is your wound not your doctor's), you need to be reassured that everything is as it should be and healing nicely. If you don't look after yourself now, you can never be sure how it will affect you later on. I hope that all is well, and do let me know that you are ok.

Morning Ladies! And elleanor......I'll see if I can send the guys over to your house! It was fabulous! hahaha. They'll be coming back next week to do more work. Hope it gets warm again! It was amazing to watch!

I'm feeling ok. I have a little swelly belly but I've ordered that band so I'm hoping that will help. I also can't walk normally. I guess I may just be a slow healer. I've had a headache for a couple of days now. It's more annoying than anything else. I had a terrible day on Monday where I felt faint and nauseous most of the day. It's kind of like a roller coaster. I'm about 3 1/2 weeks post of now and I truly believed I'd be up and about by now. But I just have no strength in my abdomin and the pain is still limiting my movements I'm not sure if I should make another appointment to see the doc. I'm sure he'll just say rest and everything will heal in time. I have a friend coming over tomorrow to help me with housework. I thought I'd treat her to a pedicure at a local spa on Saturday just to show my apprecication.

I'm more bored than anything.

Hope you ladies have a great day!

Pam

Good Morning Ladies,

I am more alert and awake today. I called my doctor yesterday and told them about my rash. They told me to stop taking the antibotics and prescribed me a new one. I think most of my tiredness had to do with the meds I had taken. Overall I guess the doctor was right about the recovery time needed. With that I will take it easy, do a little and then rest. I hope all of you ladies are starting to feel better as well.

HAve a great restful day!

Hi. I have never posted before, I know it said to start a new thread, I don't know if that is what I am doing but I really just needed to get on here. I am 33 and had a Total Abdominal Hysterectomy with ovary removal on 10/4/07. I was diagnosed with endometreosis when I was 17 and have had 6 laproscopys and had my gallbladder removed because of it also. I have/had PCOS and fibroids, so I am really hoping that this is the magic cure ) I feel pretty good (besides the lack of sleep and hot flashes), I am on hormones but I am so moody that all I want to do is cry all the time. I think I was generally a happy person so any advice to what would help with this would be great.

Anyone else keep their ovaries but having hormone related issues?

Hi ladies - have any of you kept your ovaries? If so, do you still feel like you are on an emotional rollercoaster and have night sweats, hot flashes, and all the rest of the stuff that goes along with the hormonal ride? I guess I thought that would not happen to me since I kept my ovaries. Who knew! I just wanted to know if I was alone in my hormonal woes or if it is common. I know I don't want to call my doctor again since I think she things I am neurotic. Any input anyone has would be soooo helpful. Hope all is well with everyone and recovery is going as smoothly as it can for you all - hang in there!

had a vaginal hyst on oct. 4th and have had complications with bleeding. I had a rush of bright red blood last wednesday - went to dr - then it happened again on Sunday night. Went back to dr - scheduled ultrasound - then it happened again that night! I am talking blood that covered my clothes before I could get up. Went to ER - dr sent me home after looking at ultrasound - said she thinks it will stop on its own. I am taking it very easy - so if it happens again I can say it was not me doing too much. I wish I could find someone else this has happened to so I knew what was going on! Dr said never had a bleeder after a LAVH. That does not make me feel better!
