Day 22

Hi all,
my recovery is going at a steady pace: longer walks, back to regular BM's, I feel fortunate. Yesterday I went "out" for the first time (still not up to driving though) and had my legs waxed - wow. I definitely still need my naps and will not be back to work before early december, that's for sure - I'm not much of a superwoman and don't care that I can't get it all done
Had some upsetting news yesterday from my mother's caregiver. My mom is schizophrenic and she has become very worried and does not believe I am doing fine (I call her everyday to reassure her). I'm afraid she will suffer a relapse requiring hospitalisation, so I'm having my husband drive (2 hours) me to visit her, hoping this will reassure her. I can't get upset with her, but there is no way to speak any sense to her. I should have lied and told her I was going on a road trip for work, I could kick myself.

Makes me understand what some of you are going through with added stress - really not very good for us.

Hoping for small successes for all of you today.

Hi everyone,

I also have one ovary. I'm 48 and experience hot flashes from time to time. I haven't had an increase since my hyst. however I am crying off and on. ie. not able to do houseworking, walking upstairs too slow, and surprisingly - crying to aerosmith song. Hum... My gyn has assured me that the one ovary will be fine and that the emotional aspect is the affect of the surgery. So..............it's usually short lived for me and on with the day.
Having a good sense of humour help so lol.

So nice to share with sisters who are experiencing same symptoms.
Have a great day.

Hello, ladies.

It's hard to believe I'm 3.5 weeks post-op. Seems it was just yesterday.

Also hard to beleive is the fact that today I feel wonderful! No achiness (is that a word?) in the belly at all. I'm finding it so much better at night now that I can sleep on either side. Although I did make the mistake of trying to turn over via my stomach...not a good move.

I still haven't driven and I still get tired. I've been out a few times but for short trips only. Grocery shopping still causes distress. (And I don't mean just the prices) I feel it wears me down and I spend more time on the couch when I return. But that's okay. I don't mind resting.

Today we're going for a little longer excursion. About an hour's ride and then a trip through the Christmas Tree Shop. They have the tea that I really like and I'm about out. This probably means I'll be useless for the weekend.

Continued good luck to to those of you recovering nicely and extra special wishes to those having problems. Take it easy, sisters!

good morning ladies,

The biggest problem I'm having is awful soreness on the outer side of my vaginal area up to around the side of my anal area. Sorry, don't mean to be to graphic. It hurts when I sit, stand or lay. It kind of feels bruised. Occasionally I feel soreness in my vagina where I assume the vaginal cuff is. I did have a TVH, so I'm hoping it's just from the trauma from the surgery. Is anyone else having this problem? Do you think it's a normal problem from the surgery? It's really the biggest thing that's keeping me down other than being tired.

I had a LAVH with removal of tubes and overies. A couple of days ago I was feeling the same way...Bruised and sore, it was the same soreness i had after I gave birth. Everyday it seems to get a little better.

Mine also feels like it did after I had my kids. I guess it's probably just normal. Thanks wackadoo!

I can say that I am one to bounce back pretty quickly (I have had 5 prior surgeries) and I would be back at work after 2 weeks. This surgery has really done me in, I expected it to be a little rough, however not as rough as this has been. It has not only been physically challanging, but emotionally as well, the moodiness and tears that just come up whenever they want to, and the tiredness, that of if I had "Mono" (doctor says it is my body healing, especially with the abcess infection I have) I keep telling myself that after 10 years of diffrent treatment for endometriosis and cronic pelvic pain it will pay off and I will look back and say...It was all worth it!

Thank you for listening!
