Hi I asked both my gyn and my gyn/oncologist if I shoudl worry about prolapse and they both said no. The gyn/oncologist said they stitched me up so well I should have no problem and my gyn/surgeon said that maybe in 20 years I should worry about it.

Hey,
My surgery was the 27th of September. I scheduled a laproscopic hysterectomy that was supposed to leave the cervix so I would have a 1 to 2 week recovery my fall break from school). Well, best laid plans and all that- I had 2 bleeders so they had to do an emergency abdominal and remove it all. I had adnomeiosis, endometriosis and fibroid tumors. I ended up losing a lot of blood. I started back to work this week (3 1/2 weeks after) working half days. I am exhausted. I am anemic ( 2 iron pills a day that make me so feel like vomiting- so I take a pill for nasea). I am experiencing periods of dizziness, light headedness and the room spins at time. Sleeping is a major pain= literallyas well as figuratively. I can't get comfortable. I have pains shoot through my stomach. I have been drinking lots of water, but don't have much of an appetite( that is one positve!)
Is this all normal! I am so tired all of the time! Ugh!
The doctor gave me replica for iron.

My husband was extremely helpful the first 2 weeks, but now he is back to traveling and I have the responsiblilities of the house.

Speckles...
I think you are doing way too much too soon! I can't believe your doc cleared you to go back to work even if only for half a day! read all these posts and the web site here... you should still be limiting your movement. I was overdoing last week so I know how hard it is to not get up and do...BUT the one of the things that opened my eyes was the fact that we have hundreds of stitches inside and if we do too much now we could create adhesions and scar tissue that could cause problems later... i do not know about you but I do not want anymore abdominal surgery!!! I just do the bare minimum... if doesnot smell leave the mess for someone else or tomorrow... if you wait long enough it may walk away on its own...try to do less you won't regret it!!! as always healing thoughts to all!!!

I know I don't want to call my doctor again since I think she things I am neurotic.
Yes, I had a TAH and kept both ovaries and have had some hormonal stuff going on-hot flashes, some crying and even feeling like my milk was letting down (good grief)!

My dr. said that is unusual. She did say that she rerouted the blood supply to my ovaries so that might be it. My husband was the most helpful when he said it might be like when a person loses their leg and their toes still itch. Our brains are trying to figure out what is going on.

On a good note, after 3 weeks, my hormonal issues seem to have worked themselves out. Hope yours do too soon.
Grace to you and all!

Good Morning Ladies...

I woke up this morning feeling like I have stepped backwards. Last week I spent 4 days in the hospital for an infection ( abcess) I was put on major antibotics which i ended up being allergic too, so the had me stop taking those and start a new one. Today however, I am feeling dizzy and the pain where the abcess was is increasing. I am beginnig to think my new antibotic is not working for me. I am terrified to go back to the hospital, however I am going to need to call my doctor. I was going to give this med a chance to work so if i am not feeling better tomorrow I am going to have to call. I feel frustrated at time especially now, because I am again not feeling well.

I am not trying to bust into your business, but obviously you have had some serious stuff going on. If the pain is increasing it might not be a good idea to wait. It surely would not hurt to give a call today. You could always call again tomorrow! Seriously that is what they are there for. Don't suffer with both pain and anxiety. I sure hope this med makes you feel better soon. Thinking of you.

I had a LAVH and kept both ovaries. I had my 3 week visit last Thursday and my dr. said that to eperience some night sweats and hot flashes is entirely normal. Not to worry about it. She said if they become really uncomfortable- happening every day and night- that I should think about either hormones or things like black cohosh which I believe is an herbal supplement for menopausal symptoms. She said it could take 3-4 months for your hormones to balance themselves out after this type of surgery. Are you close to menopause?
