I am feeling pretty good. I have a soreness like when I had my daughter vaginal birth. I guess it hurts worse since I wasn't pregnant and my body wasn't ready to deliver anything.lol I just didn't think that I would hurt now when I didn't hurt before. Maybe it's due to take less pain medicine. My kids are getting on my nerves which will pass. I think I have been too house bound.
calgon take me away.

My Swelly Belly Band came in today's mail!

Hi ladies:

I walked to the mailbox today and my parcel was in! It was my Swelly Belly Band! I shuffled home and immediately opened the package! I read the instructions and put the band across my incision! Oh, what a relief! I've been using ice packs for relief but this was soooo good! I think it must have something to do with the support it provides! One thing though, it didn't stay cold for as long as I thought it would so the instructions said I could put it in the freezer. It's in there now and I can't wait to put it on again!

Hope you ladie are having a nice day!

Still housebound and going stir-crazy here in Canada! (Oh yeah...it snowed on Sunday! AAAAAAH!)

Help! My legs will not stay awake!

Okay ladies...

I am still waiting for my doctor to call me and I am getting irritable. I am having trouble with major soreness in my upper legs and tailbone! I have been having trouble sleeping because of my legs falling asleep. I took a walk yesterday and tried to be up as much as my energy would allow, today I am too tired to stand but my legs keep falling asleep so I move around and then try to nap, but my leggs fall asleep, when i stand it is like a million bees stinging my legs. I am so exausted and just want to sleep, but my legs are driving me bonkers!!! Has anyone else had this problem, it is making me crazy!!!

2007 - Hysterectomy Oct 01, 2007 - Oct 08, 2007

It's 3 weeks today since my surgery. Things feel good re; the vaginal area. No more pain there, nor with sitting. But, one of the small incisions I have has built up some scar tissue and a hard, painful lump, so I find that feeling sore, especially when I lay on that side. It's not infected or anything. I have a history of hypertrophic scarring after surgeries, anyway.

Also, before I had my surgery I had a huge ovarian cyst (grapefruit sized) pressing on the right side of my back. I was elated when that pain went away immediately post-op. BUT, less than a week later, it came back! WHY? It feels exactly like it did before the surgery! You'd think my ovary/cyst grew back! HA! Could it be adhesions or ligament pain where the ovary was excised? Could the cyst have been adhering to tissue back there? My gyn did say it was very large and in the back of my uterus.

Another weird pain I've had off and on is the left side of my upper chest area, around my left breast; feels like I pulled a muscle there. It's not chest pain related to the heart or breast. It's just very painful, especially when I press it or reach for something. I wonder what the heck it is. Weird. Maybe costochondritis, although not in my lower ribs.

I think I'm falling apart! LOL But, the surgery went great!

Two positive things I notice as a result of the hysterectomy and A&P repair/sling: Naturally, my urinating is better. No "leftover" urine after going. No more dribbling after getting up from the toilet. No feeling of heaviness in my bladder. And, of course no more bulging!

But, also I am rejoicing over my bowel movements! LOL Before, I would never seem to be able to get it all out at once. I wasn't constipated, either. In fact, if anything, my stool was too soft and I was in the bathroom forever. I used so much toilet paper! Now, I go in and do my business all in one "movement" and I'm out in a jiffy! I know it sounds kind of graphic, but let me tell you, I am in "potty heaven"!!

Where else could I share that and not feel like a total fool?

I am sooo sorry that you are having trouble with your legs falling asleep. Did you finally hear from the Dr.? I hope that it is just going to go away with time, time that you need for healing... Everyone is healing in a different way and hopefully we will all end up the same in the time it takes for each one of us to heal. Thinking of you and hoping the best for you.....

I did hear from the doctor and I have an appointment in the morning. the doctor wants to check my back, they are afraid I may have a slipped disk or pinched nerve. Sometimes the position you are when they do surgery can cause this. I am praying it is nothing and this too shall pass.

Thank you for asking!!

Hi

I am so sorry to hear this! I hope it does not end up being serious. I am glad you are going in to get a definitive answer. Hopefully this will give you some relief and you can get back to the important work of resting!!

I went out today. Accompanied my husband to take our grandaughter to her well checkup then we got a burger before we came home. For the first time ever I became incredibly car sick both ways. I felt awful but it got better a few minutes after I got out of the car. I can't figure out what caused this as I never get car sick. We thought maybe on the way there I needed to eat, but we ate before we went home and it was even worse on that trip! Sure hope that does not happen again. I am going to spend the rest of the evening relaxing.

I hope you can get some rest too!

Have a question for ANYONE!!! Is it normal to have blood in your urine following surgery? I can't see any but went to a urologist due to a bladder infection following surgery. He said there was blood in my urine and had to use to nasty "possible cancer" phrase and has a bizillion tests scheduled. Friends I talked to think he's just over cautious and that due to recent surgery and a catheter that it's probably normal. I'm totally freaking now.

I have recently had serious upper leg and lower back/tailbone pain. The only thing that seems to alleviate it was a heating pad and naproxen sodium just before bed. It helped me and hope it helps you too.
