Well I am now 5 weeks post op and feeling really good. My friend has been walking my dogs and since week 2 I have been going with her and gradually building up the distance. This week I have felt so much better and have now built my walking upto 45 minutes at a regular pace (not at all fast) yesterday and today. The endorfins have definitely kicked in, walking through the woods and seeing the beautifull Autumn (I'm English) colours, breathing in the fresh air has most definitely made me feel good about life. Next week I shall go and see my doctor to see if I can start driving and start some sort of exercise to get rid of this belly of mine. Having read your postings I think that I have been incredibly fortunate, I have had no pain, just twinges here and there but I haven't needed to take pain killers. I've had a TAH and both my ovaries removed and to date I've had no signs of hot flashes, mood swings YET. I'm sure that because I haven't experienced pain to date I shall get these meno symptons with a vengeance because I know I will never get away with anything. I'm glad that you seem to be recovering and wish you all well xxx

Good morning, all.

I'm still doing well. I went shopping and out to lunch yesterday and I was exhausted last evening. I fell asleep at suppertime, fell asleep again around 7, then finally went to bed around 10:30. Wish I could sleep longer than 2-3 hours at a time without having to get up to pee.

Going to visit my mother today. It's about a 2 hour ride so it'll be a long day. I know I'll pay for this.

Wishing you all a great recovery day!

Morning ladies: Not feeling too bad today. I tried to go yesterday without any pain meds and I felt crappy all day so I took a percoset this morning just so I could make it through the day and be more comfortable. I'm still bleeding and in pain when I walk. I'm almost wishing I never had this stupid surgery!

I'm going to the drs on Thursday and I am guessing I'm going to get the all clear for intimacy with my boyfriend. I'm going to try to make my first trip out to the mall today to look for something "pretty". I feel like such a slug and hardly feel womanly so I'm hoping maybe it'll make me feel desirable. It's weird, a couple of weeks post op I didn't have any issues with libido or any kind of strange thoughts. Now, I feel like I'm just, well, not womanly.

Just another stupid side effect I'm sure. Maybe I'll pick up one of those fancy caramel apples when I'm at the mall and it'll lift my spirits. ARGH! When is this all going to get better?

Good Morning Everyone!

Cold morning here. It feels like autumn is on it's way out and winter is trying to push it's way in.

Luv2knit I hope your car ride goes well.

I am so gald to hear most everyone's post ops are going well. i go for mine on the 15th. I am trying not to think about it in advance because every visit to him always makes me nervous because every one is so uncomfortable! Pre-op I thought they would never hurt again after the surgery. i thought no more biopsies, scrapings, etc i would be home free. Yet I have been to see him 3 times post op and every time he is probing my belly, and I still hurt every time i am there! I do have to start a list of questions otherwise i will never remember what I want to ask. Sometimes i really think part of my brain was attached to the uterus that was yanked out!

Hope every one continues to feel better and and has a good day.

Mornin ladies. I hope this will be a good day for everyone Elleanor, I can't believe you can walk for 45 min. at a time. I have been walking about 30 min and that is enough.. Luv2Knit, I hope that 2 hr drive will be ok for you. A friend asked me to go with her on a 3 hr dr on way so that would be 6 hrs in the car and wanted me to drive the 3 hrs. back but I didn't think that was a good idea so will be staying home. northof49, I'm sorry to hear that you still need meds for pain. Hey treet yourself to that carmel apple. I love those things toooo.. Wishing the best for everyone!!!!

caramel apples and chocolate--we really would get along wonderfully, too bad you don't live closer!!

As far as the libido, I think you may have more than you think. You mentioned that you are still bleeding and in pain, yet you are thinking about it and something pretty to wear for it! You go for it girl! Seriously, pain and bleeding I would be in my nightshirt and socks swigging hot cocoa. Lingerie would not be on my mind! Your BF is lucky to have you. I bet when your pain subsides you will be 100% back to your old self in that department.

I know that feeling of when will this end, when will I be myself again. I certainly think it will happen for us because so many women on this board who have been in our shoes assure is it will. I trust them way more than what the doctors tell us. as for the surgery I am hoping that 6 months from now we will think it was the best decision we ever made.

I hope the mall lifts your spirits. You will have to let us know how it goes!!
