ok ladies my input on housework. This is the best opportunity to not do housework with a great excuse. I have choosen to wait until my doctor at 6 week check-up says that I am not going to tear something internally. Is housework worth not being able to have sex with your partner? I am counting the days for a green light for enjoyment with my DH. I pray that this friday when my teen daughter is gone we can play. I plan to get a new sexy gown for the ocassion if I am cleared tuesday.
think about it......... fun,fun fun is worth my house being forgotten by me.

Good morning ladies!

I haven't had a chance to check in all weekend. I've missed everyone. Hope you all are doing well. We went to lunch with friends on Saturday and a birthday party on Sunday. I pretty much just sat at both outings, so it wasn't bad. The weather was beautiful for this time of year here, so it was nice to be out in the fresh air. I haven't had a bm in three days so I'm feeling pretty miserable this morning. I called the office over the weekend and they told me to take miralax. Still no results yet. Other than that I'm not feeling too bad. I'm am looking forward to my 6 week post op on Friday. I'm still thinking of questions to add to my list to take.

twobtrue I wouldn't vacuum or mop until you get the o.k. from your dr. Believe me I've been tempted, but you don't want to take any chances after coming this far.

mrs willie I'm sorry you're having trouble sleeping. I've been having the same problem up until a couple nights ago. I've finally been able to sleep 6 hours, but when I wake up it feels like I haven't slept at all. I guess it takes awhile to catch up. I hope your able to nap during the day.
And I hope you'll be able to start sleeping better before you go back to work.

wackadoo I hope your drive and visit went well. Let us know when you have a chance.

Hope your feeling better idahonurse.

Has anyone had trouble accessing the checkpoint? I tried this morning and it said it was no longer on this website.

I hope everyone has a good day.

This is so frustrating!

Hi ladies-

I've been reading the boards a little since I knew I was going to have my hysterectomy, but just sort of scanned. Because I just KNEW I was going to be different and this would be a piece of cake.

Well I had the TAH 10/5, spent 2 weeks recovering at a friends (I live alone) then spent 1 week at home. Went back to work 10/29 (desk job) but was only ever able to make it about 6 hours, mostly I just got tired. Last week, at beginning of the week, I felt GREAT and thought yay, finally!

Well I guess I overdid, though I didn't really do too much. Worked full time every day, did one shopping trip trying on clothes, and vacuumed my house. Maybe a little more walking than usual.

Now ever since Friday I am in pain like I haven't been in in weeks. I had been weaning myself off painkillers and was only taking tylenol but that's not cutting it. Like some of you have mentioned I have a severe pain in my left side and the worst is, I also have severe pain right where my left ovary used to be- which is the pain that started this whole thing, me needing the hysterectomy (all my insides were fused together, I had adenometriosis, and I had bad adhesions.)

So now I worry- did I overdo and rupture something, OR is the pain from something else and I went through all this for nothing? I am so frustrated and feel all teary. And I don't know how well my bosses understand. They thought I was just fine last week (so did I) and are going to start getting impatient with me I'm afraid. I stayed home today because there is NO WAY I can drive. Just RIDING in a car is still uncomfortable, and I drive a stick so for today at least driving is DEFINITELY out.

Doc said everything looked good at my last follow up, next one is next week. I hope this is just a temporary setback. Just needed to whine a bit to people who I know will understand, thanks for listening!

lynnb23 my concern for you is the vacuuming. If you're having that much pain, maybe you should call your dr just to make sure. Whining is always allowed here. I hope you feel better soon.

I vaccuumed my entire lower level yesterday, dusted and cleaned the bird cages, and my son helped with 2 loads of laundry( I just folded) i don't think the vaccuumin did any harm, but I was sore and tired aroun evening time. i finished all that work before noon. i think my pain above the "twinkie" is due to too much sitting. After eating a large meal and sitting for a long time my incision starts to hurt. Do you think the fact of sitting and having that bent over the incision increases the soreness withthat "twinkie" skin over it. Just a thought. I have been trying to sit up straight more and keeping the weight offof the "twinkie",incision area.

Morning Ladies! I hope everyone is doing ok today. Just desperately bored here! Thanks for the words about vacuuming. That's enough for me! Maybe if I leave the dog hair long enough I can knit a sweater with it! I am collecting some mud too. Maybe I can ask my neighbour to come over later today and just give the main floor a quick sweep. It'll give her a chance to moan about her layabout husband. hahaha

lynnb23: Sounds like you are having a setback...perhaps from doing too much. Many of us have experienced these setbacks and some of us have landed in hospital with complications. If your pain is so severe that you can't control it with over the counter pain meds I would consider trying to get a doctors appointment. I know you said you have one later this week but maybe you can ease your fears by getting in sooner.

Still admiring my swelly belly!

Hello All

Sounds like alot of us had a very good weekend.

Twobtrue I still say be careful with all your cleaning!! Glad you are feeling allright.

Unique787 you are right time with DH way more important to me than cleaning.

Hyperhyster thanks for letting me know you are having the sleep issue too. I always feel better when one of you has the same experience! Still not good here but I am trying to give it time, and I know I will talk to the dr about it this week.

Another thing I have to add to my questions is several people mentioned that at around weeks 3-4 they felt like something was going to fall out in the cuff area. Well I had that again yesterday. Plus the more full my bladder is I am getting alot of pressure that I didn't notice before. This morning so far not alot of pain. But things always get worse as the day goes on we'll see. DH wonders if any of this is related to my bowels not being regular yet. I don't know. Plus I have been trying to do more stuff without breaking the major rules. I will just have to wait and see.

I tried the checkpoints like you said and could not access them something must be wrong with the site.

lynnb23 I agree with the other sisters if you are having pain that can not be relived by OTC's and it is something new I think it warrants a call to the dr today.

I hope idahonurse and wackadoo had a good weekend and are feeling ok.

I hope we all have a good day! Talk to you all soon.

My body and lips are much drier, but not my face. That is oily and breaking out like a teanager! For my body I stopped using soap and bought olay ribbons body wash with jojoba butter. It has made a huge difference. My skin feels soft, smooth, and not dry at all. My lips and face I still have not found the right product. Blistex for the lips and noxzema for the face did not help at all. I have used olay total effect anti aging anti blemish cleanser before and it was good. I need to buy some more of that. I don't know what to get for the lips.

Well I made it back! 2 1/2 hours into the ride it was becomi very uncomfortable...I stopped 5 times on the way. The muscle in my right leg feels as if I pulled something, I guess thats what i get for pushing on the gas peddle for that long. Saturday was good I had a nice time with my daughter. My night turned awful DH and I having problems. I was very exhausted on Sunday but had another wonderful time with my daughter. The drive home was terrible I was so tired and I kept getting sharp pains in my lower left side. I was told when i was leaving that when i got home I had to pack my stuff and find somewhere else to stay last night. I did not believe it so i called again at the half way point to let him know and try to get a second wind. All he could say is whatever your gonna get your things when you get home and stay with your friends right. I dont want you here. Well i said I'll go stay at my friends and come home after you and mystepson leave. I did not want my stepson to have to deal with that. So I stayed at a friends and haven't heard from him since that half way point. I came home this morning, now my stepson is sleeping and does not have school. You know it hurts that i just drove 280 miles alone I am still not up to par from this surgery and i never got a phone call to see if I made it to town safely. I don't know what is going to happen I do know that I will be okay.

As for this morning I am beat and my body has taken a toll, boy do I feel it!
