Jenn
I am so sorry. You know that I am here to listen whenever you need to talk. I was very glad to see you say you knew you would be okay no matter what happens. You are right you will be. Rest as needed and write as needed. Willing to listen or help in anyway anytime.
Thinking of you.

lynnb23,

I have been going through a lot of the same pain as you - I also have the pain in the L side where the ovary used to be, the same pain as what started the whole hysterectomy process rolling. Adhesions and scar tissue too (plus an ovarian cyst). The pain started for me about 1 & 1/2 weeks post-op, and comes back with a vengeance if I do anything more than sitting, standing or walking. At my first dr. visit (at about 2 weeks) my dr. said to be patient, I'm still healing. Now at 5 weeks post-op, it doesn't seem to be any better, although I have a ton more energy than I did before. I was concerned enough to use a site called justanswer.com to ask one of the doctors on line about my problem. My answer from this doc was that my gyno is right, I just need to be patient and take it easy. He said some hyster patients are not fully recovered for 6 months or more! I was concerned that scar tissue could have reformed, and he said that it takes longer than a few weeks for that to occur.
I go back to see my dr. for my 6 week check-up in about a week, and I will be telling her about the pain I still feel (not much different than before the surgery). My hope for both of us is that, if we can just rest more, the healing will happen. It's just so hard when you are feeling well, not to overdo because so many of our sisters are getting on with their lives, and we feel that we should be there too.
Anyhoo, healing thoughts to you and all you wonderful, strong ladies!

I had my TAH on the same day as you gallopingram. I still have pains on one side or the other when I seem to over streatch or do it. Rest when you feel that. I know that it does take a long time, but have talked to people that say to be patiient and it was " the best thing they ever did". I am looking forward to being myself again when it comes to energy. I know this was the best thing I have ever done, health wise, and have learned to be patient, especially at the mark that we are at. Things have gotten better. Remember 3 weeks ago? Times ave changed. Good luck.

Hi ladies,
I've been reading all your posts although I haven't been making many myself. I'm sorry it seems so many of you are healing slowly and dealing with secondary issues. Good luck to you all.

I'm lucky to have healed quickly although it didn't seem so at times. I've back to cooking, shopping, driving; still no vacuuming or serious exercise though.

I go to the doc's on Monday for my first post-op visit. Everything seems to be going really well. I'm retired so I don't have to worry about going back to work. I'm vice chair of an organization that does require a lot of my time and I haven't gone back to doing any of my work for them yet. Tonight I have a meeting here in town which will be the first one I've attended since the surgery.

So let me say that it does get better. I sometimes forget I even had the surgery. I never imagined that would happen so quickly!

Hopefully, my doctor will give me the green light for everything next week. Well, if he says to lay off the vacuuming and housework for a year or so I won't object.

Good luck to you all and I hope your problems are all little ones from now on.

This is such a trivial matter compare to what some of you are dealing with but my husband just had to bring our dear dog to the vet. The vet said he needed to be put down. He is 14, so he is elderly for a dog, but I will miss him. With this and the hormones I feel a wreck right now.

mrswillie: I'm so sorry to hear about the loss of your dog. When I lost my last dog it felt like I'd been hit by a mack truck! As a hobby I compete with my dogs in a sport called agility. I'd hate to lose one of them. One of my dogs is very ill with a brain disease. I know her days are numbered but I still won't be looking for to her last days. My heart goes out to you!

Maybe this will make you laugh. I had my 6 week post op appointment. I'm not cleared to go back to work and I'm still not allowed to do any housework or heavy lifting and singing in the car makes my belly hurt.......but I've been cleared for sex! Figure that one out! I'm not complaining, just seems a little odd don't you think! hahaha
