Icre8art: Hi, me too, I feel numb from my insicion to midway to my bellybutton.

Generally speaking my tummy is still sensitive/sore to the touch. I'm not looking forward to my post op next tuesday.

I'm supposed to go back to work on Dec 7th, but I will ask my doctor to delay till dec 19. I'm in no hurry to go back and want to be in better shape do my 11 hour shifts. I'm still wobbly when I get up in the morning and my back is still sore in the AM. I try to go for nice walks with my husband and our dog, do a little light housework. It's alittle boring, but I'm not complaining.

I enjoy reading all your posts and follow the progress of each and everyone's recovery. Take care all!

Linda you had a generous sick leave. I hope your doctor gives you the time you want. I don't blame you for waiting if you are on your feet for 11 hours! That is quite a long day.

As usual you guys always make me feel better. It has been nice to know that others are still a bit sore too, for a little while I thoguht I was the only one.

Happy healing thoughts to all. Enjoy your evening!!

My enerygy level is good but at nght I go to bed early (9PM) I'm too tired to stay up later.
I was hoping to go back to work after six weeks with the same procedure but after my 6 wk check up dr told not healed up enough to work full time hours as I do so I have to take another 2 weeks off. Extremely not happy but I want to make sure that I am better before pushin it. Still very tired and in some pain I pulled a muscle in my lower abdomen 3 wks after surgery and it is still very sore.

My six wk did not go as well as expected. =( Thought I was doin alot better but not healing very well. Dr told me believe it or not younger women take longer to heal from this. So work has been put off until after my next check in two weeks and cant enjoy the pleasures of married life for a whole other month. AHHHHHHHH! So another two weeks of absolute boredom. Thank goodness Thanksgiving is just around the corner so I can spend some time cookin good food! Glad to hear everyone is doing well. Have a great night everyone!

Mrs. Willie sorry to hear your six wk did not go well either. I guess what they say is right time is the best healer.

Hi everyone!

I'm glad we can continue to post as agroup. Although I odn't post too often I read your stories daily. I think we have so much in common, despite all our varying personal situations. It truly is a sisterhood of sorts.

I got the reminder call from my GYN's office yesterday. I have my 6 week (but it's really 7) checkup on Monday. My very first visit with the doc since my discharge. I'm feeling fine even though I changed the bed today for the first time alone. I felt little twinges below my incision right in the middle. New pains. But they didn't last.

I'm so sorry many of you are still in distress. I think of you often.

I read the pre-op posts and, in a bizarre sort of way, I almost envy them the feeling of relief at having the surgery. It's so scary and nerve-wracking before the trip to the hospital but the relief at having it all over finally is overwhelming. Now I'm nearly recovered and there's nothing to think about. Does that make any sense? Don't get me wrong, I'd rather have it over and done with. And my pre-op time did give me an excellent incentive to clean my house.

Hugs to all of you. You are all amazing women - some just a bit more sore than the others.

Have a great Sunday!

Sounds like we have alot in common! Sorry it did not go well for you either, but hopefully things will be ok if we follow doctor's orders. I hope you are right and time works as the great healer. Thanks for posting. Knowing we are in the same situation as others really helps.

catching up......

mrswillie/ Jan: I hope you relaxed today. Remember, your dh WANTS you better and loves you enough to give you the permission he knows you need to relax. Thanks for thinking of me everyday and mentioning me.

Luv2Knit: Do you offer advice or encouragement to the pre-ops? It may help you feel the nostalgia that you enjoy, I think. I don't have the energy to do it, so I hope some of us do. Someday I'll be there (fingers crossed).

nikkic: Sorry about your slow healing. Interesting info about the age and healing time. I am 37 and hope I am healed. My dh and I "did it" today without a dr.'s ok. Can you make gifts to combat your boredom?

Murphmuffin: What kind of dog do you have? I just had my 6 month old mini schnauzer groomed (first time). What a doll and I want to walk her all over to show her off! Good luck w/your sick leave at your appt.

Icre8art: First, can you tell me about your chosen name here? I wonder about it every time I see it. I want to congratulate you on your bodacious incision scar. About the numbness: both my breasts are numb from a reduction surgery when I was 15. I tell my dh to tickle my sides, back, abdomen or feet so I can feel it. 'Course he can touch my breasts for his own pleasure if he wants to. Whether you get feeling back or not, it's all good, right?

LisaBird: Thanks for your mention and encouragement. I feel better, and do more each day. I didn't trust myself to hold a 13 pound infant at a ball game today. I'm not strong enough for that yet. My patients typically weigh 3-9 pounds.

JoanC: Be easy on yourself. My thin girlfriend had a pooch for 6 months post op. Sweaters are great for camoflage. sp?

Sukipup: Thanks for the kind words. Hope the incision closes very soon.

twobtrue; Did ya get your walk in? It's dark and rainy in my neck of the woods today. We walked indoors at the mall.

I bought a new carpet shampooer today and hope I'm strong enough to clean my house tomorrow. I am so looking forward to my appt so that I can go to work. I have no idea if doc will think I'm ready, but it's my hope. I miss my babies at the hospital! I miss going to deliveries to catch the new babies as they are born. My life is so boring at home.
When I read about all of the swelly bellies, I am so glad I had a TVH. No scar, no swelling. On the other hand, I would rather have an TAH than a TVH + hem!!!! Ha Ha

Hi Michelle,
Thank you for thinking of me. I did relax alot today. Unfortunately, tummy still hurting especially on the left side. It seems extra sore since the doctor probed it. I am hoping time will heal that.

That is such a wonderful job you have! My DH has a degree in nursing but he has not worked at it for a long while. He works full time as a firefighter/paramedic. He worked before that in the ER. When I went to college I thought about nursing. There was a part of me that would have loved caring for people but there was a larger part that could not deal with the bodily fluid stuff!! DH thought I could get used to it, but I studied Social Work and now I help care for kids through counseling. There are many times when I still think it would be very interesting and rewarding to be a nurse. I certainly want you to know how much I respect what you do. I can understand why you are impatient to get back to work.

Be careful with carpet shampooing. We are supposed to get back to things gradually and you have been through alot! Don't push yourself too hard.

I don't blame you for not wanting a swelly belly. I can not wait to lose the one I've got!!

Well I am going to push my luck and head to bed.

Happy thoughts and prayers for all my sisters.
Good Night.

'Hi Ladies November 17,2007
I will let you know how I am doing and I hope this doesnt't make it harder for others not as far along as I.
After my check up I got the ok after three days for intercourse. I planned to the minute a great evening of romance and slow enjoyment. I was awesome and beautiful. I am a lucky lady my DH is great. we went out to dinner. We had great conversation, we then went to the casino for a short time. We then came home and took a shower and you can imagine the rest.
Today we had a great family day and I have no pain.
Ladies remember time and listening to your doctors orders was the key to my sucess.
I hope things go better for you all.
Debbie
